Lip Gloss -Chanel - Aqualumiere gloss Glass Quartz

Texture - smooth gel like. Easy to spread with the lipbrush instead of sponge tip applicator. Perfect colour to wear with or WITHOUT makeup without looking over the top! Blends well into lips without looking tacky/streaky. Really keeps my lips soft and moisturised without that sticky/gummy/greasy feel! In fact, sometimes I apply a bit just to moisturise my lips when I couldn't locate my lipbalm! Last pretty well but it does rub off and leave marks on glasses when drinking (which is natural for all lipglosses. Finally I must say I will buy this again and other colours of Chanel Aqualumiere range as this is the best lipgloss I am tried so far!
I got this eyeshadow from a Stila 4-pan palette (Stila Look No. 2 Book) together with Coin, Oasis and a blush in 2006. This is my favourite colour from the whole palette and from Stila, and I am still using it now! Very smooth and highly-pigmented. It is easy to apply and last well throughout a 8-10 hours workday for me. My problem is only how to find another one as Stila is no longer easily available in my home country. I am a MMM, and this works well to light up my eyes more than Starlight which I used to love before finding Lame. A must-have for me!
Lip Gloss -RMK - Mix Colors for Lips - Vivid Pink 01

I have been eyeing this particular lipgloss for a long time as a replacement for Stila's Fruit Punch Lipglaze. I have bought RMK lipgloss before in other colours. This is not as sticky as MAC Lipglass or Stila's Lipglaze. The texture is smooth and it has no fragrance and taste. Non-gritty although there are slight shimmers/glitters. A winner for me who dislikes getting hair stuck to my lips. This bright-pink looking gloss wears more sheer, leaving a visible tint of glossy pink. It's rather similar to Stila's Fruit Punch Lipglaze, with a bit less red. Will re-purchase other colours. :)
Cleansers -L'Occitane - Immortelle Brightening Cleansing Foam

I was previously using Fancl Washing Powder for 6-7 years faithfully. Basically, I came across and bought an Immortelle trial/travel pack consisting of the foaming cleanser, eye balm, toner and precious cream. I felt that this cleanser performs a good job without stripping my face of all moisture. After washing, skin felt very smooth, without any residue. Usually, I would use it after my cleansing milk/cleaning oil to double-cleanse and get rid of any traces. After using this product for a month, I have bought a full size bottle although I have not finished the travel size product. I am currently alternating between my reliable Fancl Washing Powder and this cleanser for variety. I feel that this product cleans more gently than the washing powder. It has a slight herbal-citrus/bergamot scent that disappears when you washed it off. 1-2 pumps of the small travel size is sufficient for me. In conclusion, I am really glad to discover this cleanser and the Immortelle range. :)
Moisturizers -L'Occitane - Immortelle Precious Crème

I was looking around for a change in skincare products as I felt that my skin feels dull and tired (due to a lot of late nights). Previously, I was using Laneige for 5 years and I felt I should move on and try new products/brands. I was in a L'occitane store when the trial packages of various L'Occitane skincare lines displayed caught my attention. Previously, I have heard good reviews about the Immortelle range but was hesistant due to the price of individual product. However, the set was quite reasonably-priced at SGD$50. The trial set consists of trial/travel sizes of the Immortelle foam cleanser, essential water, eye balm and precious cream. I was suffering from a few red pimple spots on my otherwise clear complexion before I started on the trial set. After trying the precious cream for 3 weeks I found great improvement in the scars from the pimples - they were almost invisible. I did not suffer from breakouts from using the product, but the texture could be a tad rich for day application before makeup. However, it's perfect for me as a night moisturiser as I sleep in aircon on most nights, and it keeps my skin smooth and soft. 6 weeks have past, and I'm still using the 15ml travel size! I find it value for money and would likely purchase once it's done. I may consider buying the trial set again as I like almost every item inside, but I still have lots of toner to use up! I have no problem with the natural-smelling white cream and it feels like it's pampering my skin, instead of overwhelming with grease. I believe that L'Occitane stores have sample of this cream and I encourage you to get a sample if you could, before plonking down your cash for a jar. On the other hand, I also loved the foaming cleanser and have purchase a full-size since. If you like to know more, do read my review on the immortelle cleanser. :)
Fragrances -Givenchy - Tartine et Chocolat Gransenbon edt

This is a long-overdued review on this "baby perfume". I bought this around 10 years ago, when I was still a poor student. In fact, this was my first big perfume purchase. It smelt like some kind of sugary and yet slightly warmth vanilla-ish buttery pastry. Lasting power leaves much to be desired. But it does not have that bitter liquorice smell of Aquolina Pink Sugar, which I also owned. It's LOVE at first spritz! Really reminds me of a lovely Sunday having a leisurely breakfast/tea. Unfortunately I cannot find it for many year, although I still keep the 100ml tall rectangular frosted bottle for memory's sake and I like to sniff at the nozzle once in a long while. LOL... Anyone knows if it still exists for sale?
I got a sample vial of this from a local department store as "door" gift and finally tried it out after a few months. This smells so similar to Kenzo's L'eau Par Kenzo for women. Do try that out since this is being discontinued. I loved L'eau Par Kenzo for many years, and this smells 90% similar to that. But my love for this type of fragrance (oceanic floral) has waned, so I would not purchase this (type of)scent.
Eye Shadow -MAC - Persona Screen Vinyl Mineralize Eyeshadow Duo
trigin 8/9/2007 2:07:00 PM
Lovely duo to use for a soft smoky eye. The darker side is a greyish dark blue colour, not black at all, with slight shimmers. Best used wet for more intense pigment payoff. The white side is a slightly sheer white pearly colour. Both blends well together and matches for a simple sophisticated finish. Easy to blend and contains no chunky/obvious bits of glitter. You can use both colors wet as a dark/light eyeliner too. Easy to carry around and value for money. But I am not using it as often as I wish as I do not do smoky eyes often. This is good for newbies to smoky eyes like me! However I would not re-purchase as I do not see myself finishing this eyeshadow duo anyway! I think it does deserves 4 lippies nonetheless.
When I used this shampoo alone with other conditioners, it feels ordinary and slightly drying for my fine hair. However, it work wonders for my hair when I used this with the Nexxus Nectaress conditioner. Try it!
Conditioner -Nexxus - Phyto-Organics Nectaress Conditioner
trigin 6/15/2007 4:15:00 PM
A very light and yet moisturising conditioner for my fine Asian hairtype. I cannot use heavy conditioners as my hair will get gressy and flat if I OD on the conditioner. But this one feels so light and makes my hair so much smoother with a bounce after use. The fragrance smells natural and is aromatherapy based, like a kind of warm incense to me. Will re-purchase it again. I'm using this with the Inergy Phyto-Organic shampoo. My current HG conditioner.
I tested the Acapulco and Vallarta Summer Trios at my Stila counter. The eyeshadows does seem rather pigmented when swatched with my fingers. However, after the MA tested both trios, one on each of my eyes, I find the effect less than desirable. Like the reviewer below mentioned, Vallarta trio seems almost like "no makeup" on application. They are quite shimmery and too sheer for my liking. And the plum-based shade seem to make my eyes look red too. The green trio Acapulco was not much better. After application, my eye look slightly more golden, mostly due to the golden-green. The brown bronze color lacks pigment! The trios look very pretty when they are brand new. One of the trio tester I've tried was much tested by people, and the result was just a flat 3-shade roundish powder after some time. I think I will pass on the trios this summer.
I love Stila's Lipglazes although they are expensive and quite sheer. This is one of my favourite! It's a milky pink matt colour, no shimmers, but it actually tones down my lip colour and makes it look fresh light pink and glossy...like a baby's lip tone! Would buy again! I like the slightly sour-candish smell too. Very good for doing a innocent pink nude lip look. Ahh.. but the gloss texture does transfers easily to glasses and makes my lips slightly sticky after a while. I can bear with this though.
Moisturizers -Decleor - Aromessence Essentiel Balm
trigin 6/15/2007 3:37:00 PM
I have tried a sample of this product and I don't get the function of this balm. It feels waxy and I cannot feel it being absorbed by my skin. I think the neroli oil works, absorbs and smells 10times better than this balm. The fragrance of the "Aromessence Baume Essentiel" is just okay, but it feels sticky on my face after application. I also felt that it did not improve/worsen my skin condition. A no-no purchase for me.
I love this oil! I tried a sample of this and the Hydra-Floral cream together. I will use the neroli oil after I cleanse my face with a facial wash while it's still slightly damp. My skin feels instantly plumped up and so much softer. Best to follow with applying the Hydro-Floral moisturiser for best effects for supple/soft skin. Somehow I cannot get the same effect with my other non-Decleor moisturisers. Only 2 drops of this oil are required and my small 5ml sample can last for 2 months of daily usage! Would purchase if I ran out of it or during sales as it's really quite expensive for 15ml bottle. But it's worth it to me! I have normal to combination skintype, with slightly oily forehead. Sometimes if I feel that my skin is acting more oily, I would avoid using this oil for 2 days. Would be good for normal skintypes and for cold/dry climates. Currently my best skincare discovery for 2007! <3 <3 <3
I love this fragrance ever since it's launch so many years ago. I would say this is a fresh soothing floral, with a green grass touch in it. One of my all-time-favourites. I love the simple classic bottle too! My favourite from Estee Lauder. However I think the smell goes "off" quite soon, making it smell stale after around 6 months? Mine turned yellowish although I kept it out of the light in a dark cupboard. Best to buy a small size.
