Misc Beauty Tools -Shu Uemura - Eyelash Curler
trew 1/27/2009 4:45:00 PM
This curler is OK. I like that it comes with spare inserts. The reason i say its just OK is that If i take the time and use it exactley in the right way it works beautifully. I got it cheap at the shu store in Kansai airport, Japan. It does give my lashes curl but if i use the teeniest bit too much pressure it gives my lashes a bent look with a harsh angle. And if i go to light it does nothing. I use a hot spoon when i am in a rush. It is also *slightly* uncomfortable for me to use i think i need a less curved one if that makes sense. Its better than the body shop one which if i use at the correct angle to actually curl the lashes it actually dents my cheeks. I also notice that i have little short lashes, it may have "cut" some off...will need ot inspect more closely.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Porridge Soap
trew 1/13/2009 3:39:00 PM
On my second bar, sweet and comfortingscented soft almost squidgey beige soap, studded with exfoliating husks. Very moisturizing and an exceptional exfoliator, however can leave a greasy film- i find my rings have a film over them and it leaves a residue on the bath which is why it has lost a lippie. Smells amazing and have repurchased in the past and probably will again, the soap does not use palm oil-hoping the formulae will be tweaked to deal with the residue.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Snowcake
trew 1/13/2009 3:30:00 PM
Was bought a 200g bar for chrismas and it smells just like the topping on a christmas cake so very apt-thanks mummy!!!! The soap is a dense off white creamy colour and very creamy under water, just a couple of swipes of my bath scrunchy produces enough rich creamy lather for my whole body -thats quite a surface area let me tell you!!!. I have insanely dry skin (psoriasis) and this is very soothing and moisturizing, such a pleasure to use. It leaves a lovely clean comforting lightly almondy smell. I keep mine in a tin and have no problem with it dissapearing too fast, its literally in and out of water and swiped with the scrunchy, that is it!!! Have a 100g bar as a backup and i will be buying this again next xmas!

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Marzibain bubble bar slice
trew 1/13/2009 3:22:00 PM
Powdery "cake" studded with an whole almond that looks and smells good enough to eat, like bakewell tart! Dissolves easily under running water, feels cool and moisturizing between the fingers. Produces a wealth of tight creamy bubbles lightly scented of marzipan- not so much to leave the scent lingering on my skin and not so much as to put DH off when he wants to share a bath!. Moistuizes the skin and no big cleanup operation when you have finished using it. As with lush no wastage on uneccisary packaging so very ECO friendly. Will definaley buy again.

Eye Shadow -Milani - Blue ice (#14)
trew 1/4/2009 11:58:00 AM
On me this is a periwinkle blue- a pale -mid blue with a definite lavender tinge this is infused with fine white gold sparkles. A pretty colour and very unusual. It is quite unlike how it appears in the pan on me. I tend to use it wet as a liner and its very pretty and a doable blue looks fab with taupes and lilacs- i must have got a good pot because the texture is very good and it has a nice sheen. Great buy.

Foundations -Unlisted Brand - Barbara Daly for Tesco Moisture Foundation
trew 1/3/2009 5:27:00 PM
I am on my second one of these, i normally use mineral foundation but for a few months in the winter my skin is very dry. This is a little dark for me in the winter- perfect in the summer but it is a warm tone which works well with my complexion. Goes on easily and evens out my skin quickly without much effort so good when i am in a rush and dont have time for MMU. I very dry sensitive skin (psoriasis and allergies) and have no reaction and no itchiness at all. I love the texture if this had the colour of EL individualist in beech it would be HG material. In early summer i slap a bit on my legs with some bodylotion to add a hint of colour AND even out any blotchiness :) and its cheap enough for that too!!

Loose Powders -Coty - Airspun Fragrance Free Luminous Translucent Loose Powder
trew 1/3/2009 3:41:00 PM
I spotted this while on my holidays while in the US, It has adorable 50's style green/aqua cardboard box covered in white and gold facepuffs- tres elegante. It is heavily scented- i could smell it through the cellopane. It didnt come with a puff which i was a little dissapointed about but it was cheap as chips. so i happily shrug it off. I have highly sensitive skin and despite the scent i have no problems with itchyness or allergies. The powder is very finely milled and shimmery pale peach toned. I could see gettin in a mess if i removed the cellophane totally so I pierced the cellphane several times with a thick needle i whirl around a face brush and apply ligerally and buff in well- i get a lovely dewey look from this not glittery or overly shimmery just fresh and smooth like my skin when i was 10!!! WIll definaley rebuy next time im in the US- cant find it in the uk if you know when i can get it PLEASE LET ME KNOW :)

Eye Shadow -Lancome - Ombre Absolue Radiant Smoothing in 113 Erika F
trew 1/3/2009 3:19:00 PM
Gorgeous Unique eyeshadow, wet look shimming platinum shade with a hint of olive green. Classy and noticable but not screaming Glittery. Less olive than the loreal dupe- dazzling khaki and a deeper more intense wet look shade. I like this on the outer v in a smokey eye or on top of a neutral taupe eye to transform it into a nighttime look. It will work with cool or warm tones. Applies like silk but does need a primer- i have hooded eyelids -not particularly greasy and on bare lids this has only about 4 hours staying power on me. But over UDPP its lovely. The texture is a LITTLE on the soft side and i was expecting it to be a touch firmer because if i use the sponge or a firm brush the shadow crumbles easily and as such this will get used up quite quickly- texture is very similar to that of shiseidos majolica majorcas single ES. Square black container with the lancome gold flower in the corner, decent mirror in the lid for an eyeshadow the sponge apllicator is far to harsh for tis soft buttery shadow and makes it crumble. Would buy again but is my most expensive eyeshadow.

Eye Shadow -Prestige - skin loving minerals dramatic minerals MEC-05 Amber
trew 1/3/2009 12:54:00 PM
This is a gorgeous silvery grey warm taupe, no plum undertones in this Taupe. The texture is smooth and buttery and it applies like a dream. The packaging is actually nice good quality clear plastic round pot, flip top-easy to open with "prestige" written around the edge in silver. Large amound of product 2.2g for the £5.00 price tag- belies the brand "prestige" this is way way better than their other eyeshadows. This colour is totally versatile, looks fab with cools, warms brights and neutrals- looks fab with Erika F!!! I am really pleased with this buy the texture is as nice as my SHU at a fraction of the price, will definatley repurchase if i ever run out.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - Urban FX liquid liner
trew 1/2/2009 12:22:00 PM
A clear liquid liner packed with really tiny silvery holographic glitter particles- really small. This was greatfor a matte eye look close to the lash line really made my eyes look fresh and awake. The glitter is so small it almosts looks like silver shimmery liner but less of a harsh line. Slimeline quite long brush but not quite long enough for mu tastes so i used my lily lolo liner brush with this. Being a clear base made it really versatile IMO it could add some sparlke to any look. if i used to much my DH asked me what was up-because it looked like tears. My one was taken in with my stolen handbag and its on my list to repurchase,

Fragrance -The Body Shop - White Musk For Men Eau De Toilette
trew 10/4/2008 6:38:00 AM
I bought this, whilst on a budget, looking for a woody comforting fragrance that my replace my hankering for Tam Dao wile i cant afford it. Its not too masculine for a woman to wear, at first it is a bit too fresh for me but after about 5 minutes settles down to a warm slightly powdery woodsy lovelyness. This is light enough for all year round. The lasting power is not that great about 3 hours on me, but at £16 for 100ml you han keep on spritzing. If you like sandalwood give it a whirl. I do wish it came in a smaller bottle or an oil, but its not designed for handbags this one :). I also wish it came boxed. " from the website Initially fresh, crisp and clean, White Musk For Men reveals the masculine scents of vetiver and sandalwood blended with sensual notes of musk to create an addictive, alluring skin to skin sensuality that radiates across the fragrance. Leaves skin sensuously scented." Notes of lavender create the floral top note and provides the initial scent of the fragrance. Notes of geranium and crystal jasmin combine to create the heart notes Notes of vetiver, sandalwood, amber, musk and tonka bean Combine to create the soft base notes. Tend to linger on the skin longer than the other notes. Ingredients:Alcohol Denat. (Solvent/Diluent), Aqua (Solvent/Diluent), Parfum (Fragrance), PPG-20 Methyl Glucose Ether (Viscosity Modifier), Coumarin (Fragrance Ingredient), t-Butyl Alcohol (Denaturant), Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone (Fragrance Ingredient), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Citronellol (Fragrance Ingredient), Geraniol (Fragrance Ingredient), Denatonium Benzoate (Denaturant).

Mascara -Kiss Me - HEROINE MAKE volume and curl mascara (black)
trew 10/4/2008 6:28:00 AM
Bought this in a shop Vie in Japan, it was about £5 very reasonably priced. I have mid brown very fine straight lashes which NEED a good mascara to be seen. Its quite a thick mascara, in a Maroon tube, the plastic packet it comes in is super cute with a gorgeous manga-esqe princess with tears in her eyes (which is how i guessed it was waterproof). Instant results and i dont get the panda eyes, it doesnt smudge or budge. My lashes look much more voluminous and curled. I CAN skip the Shu curling but my lashes look really good when i curl them first. I rate this the same as my previous HG Diorshow. It is hard to remove but i got the Kis me mascara remover, which works a treat in removing it and conditions my lashes to boot. I bought a backup of this mascara i love it soooo much.

Hair Color -LUSH - Caca Marron
trew 7/19/2008 7:01:00 AM
I just wanted to rave for Lush's Henna caca in Marron rop my hair is a mid red brown naturally, i had to use a whole block, my hair is quite thick and although layered at the front it is about mid back in length. I simply wrapped the block in cling fim, smashed it up with a rolling pin and put it in a glass bown over a pan of boiling water and added esspresso coffee insted of water ( to enhance the deep brown and i added a dash of paprika to enhance the red). It smelled a little funky to me, so i added about 5 drops of jasmine absolute essential oil and that really helped me tolerate it. It melted in about 5 minutes and with stirrring got to the texture on unwhipped double cream that i was looking for. I stripped off - it looked a messy job and i applied it in the kitchen on tiles, i went from back to fron and from and root to tip. i applied it with my rubber marigold gloves, as warm as i could stand. I then wrapped it well in clingfilm and relaxed for two hours, i did have to attend to coco butter and dye running down my face that i had to attend to - it emmerged from the gaps in the cling film near my ears, so nest time i will go for a whipped double cream consistency, because itf its warm, it does seem to melt . When it got late, i showered it off. It was pretty dried and matted on and for me to get a whole block out of my hair it took me massaging in a cheap conditioner and rinsing twice, followed by one gentle shampoo and a "good" conditioner. But if you were more patient it would simply loosen up with warm water and massaging, but i wanted to see the results!! The clinfilm was a sludgy greenso i was aprehensive but i neednt have worried this gives me a "my hair but better" and it has covered the greys very nicely (i have about 20) wth more depth, deep tones and much better condtion. i left it on 2 hours, nest time i wil leave it on longer for an even deeper colour. If you have mid -dark brown hair and are looking for a red kick but not a " I USE HENNA" look, give this one a go. here are the ingedients: Red Henna (Lawsonia inermis) , Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao) , Indigo Herb (Fera tinctoria) , Ground Coffee (Coffea arabica) , Fresh Organic Lemon Juice (Citrus limonum) , Irish Moss Powder (Chondrus crispus) , Clove Bud Oil (Eugenia caryophyllus) , *Citral , *Eugenol , *Geraniol , *Citronellol , *Limonene , *Linalool , Perfume

Blush -Clinique - Blushing Blush Powder Blush - Precious Posy
trew 7/4/2008 6:38:00 PM
This Blush, it a very finely milled, peachy pink with sheer gold sheen. Very illuminating on my warm toned PPP skin, its doesnt scream "glitter", but livens up my face just enough, to look youthful and glowing, it is very pretty and very flattering. Very pigmented to but easy to build up if needed. Looks great with golden tan bronzers. The silver reflective compact is great, - i have been know to pull it out and look into the lid as a mirror, when i want to quickly check something. The brush i a soft small slanted blush brush, although clearly not as good as your own brushes, it aint half bad, and i ACTUALLY used this one for touchups...a very rare occurance for applicators that come with the product in my house.

Fragrances -Ava Luxe - Madonna Lily
trew 7/4/2008 6:33:00 PM
This is a soft clean lily fragrance, with a hint of musk and green notes, not as green and astringent as stargazer and a little less "lily like" than that lily scent by Ava Luxe, but because of that, this is easier for me to wear, it still reminds me of my wedding day-warm day on a hawaiian beach with a red rose bud and casablanca lily bouquet (NOT MADONNA LILY :), i bought the extrait version and this is an even "rounder" warmer scent than the somewhat fresher EDP version. I love it and will repurchase, will layer with stargazer for more lily power, when i want it :)
