Treatments -Obagi - obagi skincare system

I am on my 8th week already. My face is not completely clear yet, but the difference has been a drastic 60% better compared to my old skin. I've tried a lot of things to keep clear - accutane, birth control pills, oral medications and a lot of topical skincare products - but nothing delivers like Obagi (well, except maybe accutane but that only stopped the breakouts, but did not do a lot for the way my skin looked overall). I'm not blessed with good genes so I have a tough battle - and I think I'm winning it, finally. In 12 or 14 weeks I think I can go out already without heavy foundation on my face - and that's saying a lot! I did go through a very painful process: around the 5th week I got cystic breakouts and that really pissed me off. Then afterwards had peeling on dark spots, and now my skin is really smooth but red. I guess I'm gonna cut back on Obagi clear when I reach the stage I want to maintain, just to get rid of the redness. Well, I'm talking too much ------ will update soon!

warm ivory is my perfect match! looks good in pictures, very sanitary with the pump bottle, easy to control, good coverage. unfortunately, it cannot withstand my oily skin, even with my LM primer! :( sad.

Blush -Bare Escentuals - Flowers

I got a sample of the product. On the pot the color is hideously dark and opaque and I thought that would hideousness would rub on me; but I changed my mind when applied on my face. Very pretty dark rosey flush on the cheeks and fabulous mixed with vaseline on my lips. :) I want a lipstick of this color!! I'd repurchase a sample, but not the entire pot. I might get tired of it.

This works well in covering the bluegreen veins around my eyes. I mix it in with Laura Mercier's Stardust (Shimmery powder) and works great in illuminating my eyes. This is a lot easier than blending and blending cream concealer that makes me look like a panda afterwards. In general, I don't like BE (I swapped away my starter kit.. Didn't give enough coverage and caked on me) but there are good products I'd repurchase. I'd give BE another try when I get better skin.

Palettes -MAC - MAC Indulgence 7 Face 2005
rated 4 of 5

I love everything in this palette except the plum dressing eyeshadow.. I agree with the reviewer below about how using it inadequately can produce the look of a swollen eyelid; in my case, no matter what i do, it just looks bad on me! So pretty much I can't produce any other intense look aside from the greensmoke-retrospeck-mocha-fetish combo. Love the packaging to bits.

Blush -Shu Uemura - SAKURA

Bought this dirt cheap, but it's ridiculously priced in manila. Love this pink! On my mirror I like it fine, but in natural light, this bubblegum pink makes me look so fresh and... happy, haha. Now i'm beginning to think i like it better than smashbox softlights prism.

M HG pale pink shimmer blush! this is better than loreal strawberry tart, which is another contender for the spot. I've been on the lookout for the blush that can give me a natural pale pink shimmer look. This is it. The pot is huge, the quality is great, and it stays on and on... update: just realized i look better with cotton candy pinks. got shu's LE sakura and it's a better pink on me. but im still not letting this baby go!

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack

Undoubtedly the best black eyeliner ever! Does not smudge. Very versatile and workable. I've been using it everday since I got it. This is the must-have basic gel eyeliner for me.

Lipstick -Laura Mercier - Bare Lips

Got this as a freebie in my recent LM haul. I've been using it a lot.. Smells bad, true. But the color compensates for it. I don't like very pigmented lipsticks, the sheer ones do it for me. I love the way it flatters my NC20-25 skintone. Gives a very natural, non-teenybopper tint on my lips. pinky brown. :)

Lip Gloss -Laura Mercier - Ambre Rose Glace

from my recent LM haul. i love this gloss. alone i have not blush to match it. (im comfortable with pinks and berries only.. i dont feel comfortable using tan or gold or peach on any other part of my face except my eyes) but on top of my estee lauder lippie or my LM lipstick bare lips, it's wonderful! great staying power, no flaking, color stays even when you wipe it off with a tissue. better than MAC imo. :)

Concealers -Laura Mercier - Undercover

I love the secret concealer (still hesitating on the camouflage) and the packaging! very sleek and useful. i have this in UC4 (which i really think is not my match.. peachy undereye concealer but it worked fine on my skin) im oily, acneprone and light-medium asian. im not using this for everyday, just for touchups if necessary so this will last me a long time. :) i find the secret camouflage hard to blend though.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
rated 5 of 5
trazille 7/29/2005 11:32:00 PM

Nude was the perfect match indoors. but since it looked unnatural in daytime light, i mix it in with my shiseido fluid foundation. i find this process necessary or else i could not blend colorstay properly at all! i'd look extremely ghastly! but since i've been mixing the two (like 1/3 shiseido and 2/3 colorstay) and using a foundation brush, i look great. HG foundations combo give me a med-midwayfull coverage. (i still use concealer) can cake if too much though. Oh, i've been using it for a week: NO BREAKOUTS! :) unlike colorstay natural.. ugh i did not like that one experience AT ALL.

Great product! I was eyeing LM's blushing apple but the MAs and my friend kept insisting that i get this one. And im so glad i did... gives cheeks a very classy and subtle glow. :) matches my lips. estee sumptuous and LM ambre rose glace on top. i look darn pretty.

Liquid -Prescriptives - Virtual Matte
rated 3 of 5
trazille 6/4/2005 10:14:00 PM

I have really really bad skin now (adolescent crisis relived) and virtual matte is my HG right now. good thing i found one in my trip in singapore for $56 sing. (px is pulling out of asia damnit :)) hefty price tag, but performs well. keeps oilies at bay better than other foundations i've tried. skin looks flawless especially when i used the foundation brush. will buy again if i find another someday.----- colorstay's better than this! im lowering the ranking to 4. colorstay better match, better oil control and no breakouts! cheaper as well!----------update: ried i again. i turned orange. i have weird phases ugh.
