Stick -Bobbi Brown - Foundation Stick
rated 4 of 5

I purchased this last November and it was weird because I purchased this after trying my friend's. She was a lot fairer than me and she had the 4.0 Natural one but the color matched my skin tone (on a MAC I would be an NC 30). When I went to get one for myself, the Bobbi Brown girl swatched me and yes, I was a 4.0 Natural. I must say that this is by far the only foundation that matches my skin tone and I love the fact that this stick foundation has no SPF properties. I wear it daily and although I am fully aware of how important it is to use SPF if you will be out under the sun a lot, but since I am mostly indoors, bounded to the desk, having on a foundation without SPF is no problem. Plus, it does not have that grey-ish cast so I'm happy about that. The consistency is smooth and blends well into the skin, giving a dewy and moisturized finish. However, I am a bit oily around the T-zone so I would have to reapply after lunch time. I make sure it slides a little less by sealing it with MAC's Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder. It gives you a porcelain look and I must say this combination is by far the most successful one. 2011 and 2012, I had been spending so much money trying on the best foundation for my daily need; from Revlon to Make Up Forever, to Estee Lauder and MAC. I would have to say that Estee Lauder had the best staying power, MAC was safe to the skin (although a little grey-ish), but Bobbi Brown here had a spot-on color match for my skin tone. I will be running out on the stick foundation soon though, maybe in about 2 months from now, but I am curious to try out the liquid foundation albeit it having SPF properties. All in all, I am quite happy that I tried this variant, even if it broke my heart a little after paying. :|

Primer/ Corrector -Revlon - PhotoReady Perfecting Primer (color 001)

i LOOOVE this primer. It doesn't really matter what foundation you wear as long as you have a good primer underneath it and this is definitely a good quality primer with a price tag that doesn't immediately flatten your wallet. It keeps my makeup from sliding off and I look flawless all day, sort of like a mannequin. It does not irritate or cake my skin. Really happy that I found this. I will keep purchasing.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter
rated 4 of 5

Yes I would buy these series again IF they would alter the packaging. Maybe mine was broken from the start but the thing won't come down after I spin it out of the tube thingy-thingy (lol). Because it's lip butter, meaning that it is not as solid as lipsticks, they melt and smudge all over the place and it's just messy in general. I liked that they had a lot of colors and I liked that it was quite long lasting on my lips but again; the packaging does not make me happy.

BB Cream -Clinique - Age Defense BB Cream SPF 30
rated 3 of 5

As BB creams are trending, me and my mom decided to try out a few. We got the Maybelline one, the L'Oreal UV Perfect one and this one from Clinique. I must warn you to use VERY sparingly as pea size can be a bit too white on your face (at least mine) due to the SPF. I didn't quite like it as it does not photograph well, and even in day light it casts a greyish tone on my face and gives the illusion that I am either sick or dying, lol. However, I liked that it was very oil controlling and delicate to the skin. I have sensitive skin and I would immediately breakout if it's too fragrant. I guess maybe I ought to give it another shot and work with bronzers or blush, but I am hoping that BB creams would quickly come with a broader selection of color to match skin tones of all ethnicity. :|

Lip Treatments -Maybelline - Baby Lips lip balm
rated 4 of 5
traubelein 8/2/2012 11:19:00 AM

Just got this today and here (in Jakarta) it's called "Smoothing Cherry". I love the fragrance and the taste. Reminds me of something I used to either play with or use as a child, could be one of my bubble bath gels so for sentimental reasons; this adds a point for my personal use. It's really cheap I like the texture because ironically, some lip balms actually crack your lips or waxes up which can be very irritating-- especially when they crease around the corners of your lips! I'm very pernickety with what I put on my lips (especially lip balms and lipstick (I hate lip gloss)), so this one won me. :D

Concealers -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Concealer
rated 5 of 5

I'm very happy with this concealer. I have super oily T-zone and this thing stays on all day long. I'm a Light Medium and am happy that the color matches my skin tone since they're only available in 3 colors (at least that's how it is in Indonesia). Instead of using foundation, I like to slap on some concealer on my T-zone, nose, cheeks (okay, that's almost every part of my face, lol) and then finish off with some powder and I must say I like the look better than having foundation on. Although the consistency of DW concealer is a bit thick, it seeps right into the skin and doesn't clog my pores. I have really sensitive skin but this did not give me any rash or zits so I'm very happy with it. Applying it on my T-zone also makes me blot waaaaaay less than before I purchased this. Normally I would be blotting by lunch time (that's only 3 hours after putting on makeup) and now with this concealer I only need to blot around 6pm and my sister said that my skin looked flawless like a doll. I used to wear MAC's studio fix concealer but that slid off my face by lunch time and I had to keep reapplying but with ELDW I don't need to touch my face until 6pm. I know it's a bit pricey (all ELDW products are close to about $40 and this teeny weenie concealer is the same price as the ELDW foundation, I was stressing in my pants when I saw the price tag) but I'm so happy I went with it cuz I think now I found my HG. I'm super happy with it.

Moisturizers -L'Occitane - Rice Ultra-Matte Face Fluid
rated 4 of 5
traubelein 2/18/2012 12:21:00 AM

I'm on my first week and I love it!!! Especially the smell so almond-y... :) very mild and pleasant. I'm one who's very sensitive to smell, sometimes I even get headaches from smell that are too strong. I love the texture of this moisturizer. It does help neutralize the oil on my face. Usually by lunch time my T-zone would be shiny and quite drippy (eeerwhh) but with this I would be expecting to oil up around 5 o'clock, so that means it lasts 9 hours. My skin does not break out with this so I'm very happy about that. It's a bit expensive for a 30ml packaging but it's definitely worth a try :) I know some people say that this does not have any moisturizing properties and it dries up the skin but I live in a tropical/humid country so this works out fine for me. As for makeup, I use this as a base before I put on my foundation. It also helps to use a foundation that's not too oily. I use Estee Lauder's Double Wear Light in intensity 3.0- which is not as oily as other foundations. I'm pleased with the combination of both products as it does not make me oily as compared to other combinations or if I use a foundation alone. I would repurchase L'Occitane Rice Ultra Matte Face Fluid again.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear LIGHT Foundation SPF10
rated 4 of 5
traubelein 2/14/2012 12:06:00 AM

I've tried almost all foundations from MAC studio sculpt, MAC studio fix, Clinique Super Balance, Revlon Color Stay, Revlon Beyond Naturals, Ultima II Cream Makeup, Body Shop Liquid Foundation to Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Makeup and found that Estee Lauder Double Wear Light is the best foundation I've ever tried. I'm intensity 3.0 and have an oily T-Zone but when I wear this my face is matte throughout the whole day. It's also doesn't look as gray compared to other foundations in pictures taken with flash. And I don't really need to put on powder on top of it because it's already so matte. I've also tried the Double Wear in Wheat but found it to be a bit darker than my complexion and also tried it in Tawny but it was a bit pale on my skin AND it looked really gray in daylight. Both Double Wears went oily after lunch time. So I think the Light Intensity 3.0 is best for me. I'm really happy that I found the one makeup that doesn't come with hassle. I would totally repurchase even though it's a bit pricey; but totally worth the penny. :)
