Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Clump Crusher mascara
rated 5 of 5

Definitely the best product in the Lash Blast line...by a mile. It really does not clump and adds a nice amount of volume and length. I was a little skeptical (most mascaras clump a little bit--or if they don't they don't give you any volume) but this mascara is very, very nice.

Eyeliner -Lancome - Artliner
rated 5 of 5

There are 3 versions of this felt tip eyeliner that are on the market at this point (and they are probably made by the same factory): L'Oreal Lineur Intense, Maybelline Line Stiletto, and Lancome Artliner. Now that I've tried all 3, I have to say that Artliner is the easiest to work with and has the darkest line and best coverage. However, since the Lancome version is twice the price of L'Oreal and almost three times the price of Maybelline, I don't think it's the most economical choice. If money were no object, I would always buy Artliner.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Lots of Lashes
rated 4 of 5

I really hate original Great Lash, so I was very doubtful when I bought this one. However, I love trying new mascaras so I gave it a whirl. It's really quite good--the formula is drier than original Great Lash (but not dry compared to the average mascara) and I love the brush. I was pleasantly surprised by this one, and it's less than $5, so that's great too.

Crème -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Compact Makeup SPF 55 Helioplex

Grainy texture and greasy--not worth the money at all. I love cream foundations for the ease of use, but this one is not worth the $12 price tag. Will not buy again!

Mascara -NYX - Pin-up Tease

This mascara is extremely hard to remove--I love curved brush mascaras, and this one is unique because the brush is plastic. But it's so hard to remove, it doesn't really matter how good or bad it is. It's just okay.

Eye Shadow -Hard Candy - Kal-eye-descope Baked Duo Rock n Roll
rated 4 of 5

This is great for creating a shimmery purple smokey eye. I use it dry (I don't have much lucky with wet application) and it's still very pigmented if I use it over primer and a sticky base (NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Cottage Cheese.) Love the price and it last a long time!

Conditioner -Clairol - Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Conditioner

This conditioner is called Touchably Smooth now, but it's the same product. I love the way it smells the most--and it works pretty well. I like using this in the winter, when my hair tends to be full of static. If it can hold up in 10-degree weather with low humidity, it's a good product in my book!

Moisturizers -Lacura - Hydra Complete Creme
rated 3 of 5

I like the consistency of this gel/cream, but it stings my face when I put it on. The scent isn't bad, not overpowering--it smells fresh. I don't think it does a whole lot, but it's fine to use as a day cream (though it has no SPF.) It's just okay.

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Erase paste
rated 3 of 5

I was hoping that this would be a miracle product, but so far it's not really that great. I got the lightest shade, but it's still a bit dark for me. (I'm really pale.) It covers my dark circles somewhat, but only about 80%. For $26, I was hoping for 100% coverage. I don't feel like I was ripped off, but it's not a life-changing HG product for me.

Eye Shadow -E.L.F. - Mineral Eyeshadow in Celebrity
rated 4 of 5
tracyveronika 9/13/2011 10:54:00 AM

The first review labels this as a "slightly coppery light brown shimmer" and I think that is exactly what it is. I thought it would be lighter, given the swatch on the ELF website (it looks pure gold there) and the reviews here. But to me, it's like a more wearable, slightly cooler version of Urban Decay Half Baked. I really like this so far--very pigmented, shimmery without any glitter. Yay!

Hair Color -Clairol - Natural Instincts Vibrant
rated 2 of 5

The good: 10 minute processing time, not too smelly (for permanent color, that is.) Non-brassy color, covers your grays. The bad: I'm not sure what happened, but my hair ended up having a waxy buildup at the scalp after using the conditioner. I'm 95% sure that it had to do with this product, since I've been dyeing my hair for over 10 years and I've never had this problem before. I had greasy, waxy hair for over a week after using this product. I finally had to go and buy some clarifying shampoo--which is helping, but it's still an issue. The ugly: Washing your hair, but looking like a greaseball because there is a layer of wax at the top of your head!

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Strip Eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5

I love this! The perfect silver with blue overtones, and no glitter. Just shimmer for days and great pigementation. You can go for a simple look and just wear it on the lid with some black eyeliner, or use it as a base for a smoky eye. I will definitely buy this again whenever I run out.

Eye Shadow -NYX - Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencil - Cottage Cheese
rated 4 of 5

I have both this shade and Milk (among others), but I think I prefer this JEP because it's shimmery. I have to use a primer under all of the NYX JEPs, so if you have oily lids this may be a good idea. (ELF Mineral Primer is only $3 and works like a dream for me.) I love using this pencil under my mineral eyeshadows, it gives them something to hold onto and it makes the colors stand out more.

Mascara -Rimmel - The Max Bold Curves
rated 2 of 5
tracyveronika 6/28/2011 10:29:00 AM

I'm between a 2 and 3 on this one...it's bit clumpy, and it doesn't do much for curling, which is supposed to be the biggest claim for this mascara. It works fine if you have a lot of patience and time to work with it--but most of us don't have that kind of time every day.

Blush -Milani - Baked Blush in Dolce Pink
rated 5 of 5
tracyveronika 6/23/2011 2:14:00 PM

This is a very good dupe of NARS Orgasm, and it's only about $7! I had to compromise my principles and go to Kmart to get this, but it was totally worth it. ;-) Like Orgasm, it's a peachy pink color--I don't see any swirls in it, and it's easy to apply. The lid is a bit hard to open, but it's no big deal.
