I'm really glad I found this product. I still have very oily, acne-prone skin at 41. This is the perfect amount of moisture for my skin, and has the added benefit of helping to keep it clear. When I first started using it, I was pairing it with a beta hydroxy toner in the morning and evening, and adding my standby benzoyl peroxide product all over my face, chest and back at night. After several weeks of use, I have stopped using the BP all over, since the FTE is taking care of the breakouts. The FTE did purge my skin the first couple of weeks. I was getting whiteheads around my nose and forehead, but at the same time, the texture of my skin and its overall clarity was much improved. The whiteheads are few and far between now, and go away in a day or so. I have a feeling they will stop happening altogether very soon. Still using the BHA liquid product first, letting that sit for a few minutes then following up with the FTE, and am very satisfied!
Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Nutra Sonic Face Brush by Nutra Luxe MD.

I got my Nutrasonic for $99, with 3 brushes and the charger. Did not opt for the skincare products they sell, since I was more than happy with what I was already using. Love, love, love this brush! It only took one use to see that it was going to do wonders for my skin. I use it every morning, and most nights. The charge holds for about 5 days. Love that it can be used in the shower. I haven't had any problems getting the brushes on and off at all. Have been using it about a month, with no problems at all, and would replace it in a second if anything ever happened to it. I have not tried a Clarisonic, nor do i care to at this point. Do I really need to spend $100-$150 more for a built-in timer? As for the mess when using the brush at the sink, I wouldn't say it sprays everywhere, but there is a little mess if I don't place the brush on my face before turning it on. Also, the "jitter" mode for extra exfoliation is GREAT! I use it with NuSkin pure cleansing gel for my oily skin, and am very happy with the results.
I have been using this cleanser for well over a month, and it is the best I have found. Does not dry out my oily skin, but I have noticed it seems less oily overall. This cleanser removes makeup completely, including mascara, without scrubbing and has also helped clear up my chest and back. I would highly recommend it to anyone with oily, acne-prone skin. I also use a Nutrasonic brush most of the time, and believe the two combined is what has really cleared up my flaking and blemishes. I'm neutral about the price, and don't really see any problem with the packaging, although I do wish they had the option of a larger bottle. Lather is very good, and the fragrance is very light. I did see one advertisement that said this is fragrance-free, but it does have fragrance listed in the ingredients. Has not irritated my face at all. Love it!
Foundations -Estee Lauder - Re-Nutriv Intensive Lifting Makeup

I really like this foundation, especially since I'm getting a bit older and my skin is starting to dry out a bit. I still have oily/acne prone skin, but it is not quite as bad as in years past. The only gripes I really have is about the packaging, it is a bit clumsy to use at times and would have been better in a tube or pump, but it's not a deal-breaker. The coverage is good, and the texture is great! I agree with past reviewers that it does need to be applied sparingly and blended well. The jar may be expensive, but I wear this every day and it will probably last me a year or more since so little is actually needed to cover my whole face. I would buy this again, even given the price. It has not irritated my acne-prone skin at all after three weeks of daily wear. I took off one lippie from the overall rating due to the packaging. EDIT: A note about the Intensive Smoothing loose powder in the Re-Nutriv line, in case you are looking to get it as a set (I would add a review, but I don't have the rights yet)... The texture of the powder is ok, nothing special. I much prefer the AeroMatte pressed powder's incredible texture, or Paula's Choice loose powder. A warning to those with warm complexions, the Intensive Smoothing loose powder is WAY too pink. I ordered it in light per the live chat customer service rep's recommendation. It is almost the color of a blush compared to my other warm powders, and made me look like I had a bit of a sunburn.
My favorite lip gloss by far! I love the texture, it is silky smooth, not sticky at all. I usually don't care for MN products, but I decided to try this one out after reading the rave reviews on MA. I purchased it in the color Sangria, which is a perfect color for me, not too bright or dark, and translucent with just the right amount of gold sparkle. The color lasts fine for a gloss. The only complaint (if you can call it that) I have is I wish the angled applicator had more than one hole, like I've seen on other products. The single hole in the middle sometimes makes it difficult to get the product right where you want it. Nitpicky, I know, but I had to throw it in. Overall a great lip gloss. Despite the price, I will buy it again and again.
I really like this lipgloss because of its smooth texture. The color is not as sheer as I was expecting and it is not sticky at all. It could last a bit longer after applying, so one lippy off. Otherwise, it is a good gloss.
Moisturizers -Awake - Hydro-Force Oil Free Treatment

I think this is a very good moisturizer for oily skin. I have not had any problems with it breaking me out, and the little dry patches I usually have on my lower cheeks are slowly going away. It is oil free but does feel a bit slippery, which turned out not to be a problem for me. I will buy this again.

I was trying to decide between this and another scent on a recent trip, and decided to spray this one on and see how it lasted and changed before buying it. I got so many compliments and people asking me what I was wearing, I knew I had to get it. It is so fresh smelling, and lasts a long time. Doesn't take on a strange smell as it is fading. I didn't even consider the other scent after this. Love it!
Powder -Shu Uemura - VELVET PERFECT adjusting powdery foundation
tracey_fox 9/29/2006 9:44:00 PM
I finally found a powder foundation that doesn't break me out. I was looking for a powder foundation that was quick and easy to apply when I just didn't have time for my usual Illuminare cream. I like this so much, I may just switch permanently. The finish is so natural, and application is a breeze with the two-sided applicator, and the staying power is great. I use it in combo with Tarte pressed powder for touch-ups because the Shu alone tends to get a bit shiny after a few hours on my ultra-oily skin. I was worried because all the powder foundations I have tried caused terrible break-outs for me, but this one is hoding up great. As a matter of fact, my skin looks better than it usually does after removing it at night. I wish the compact was a bit more stylish, but I don't carry it with me, so I guess it doesn't really matter. --Update 01-22-07: I have been using this almost every day since writing my last review, and I still LOVE it. It covers all my redness and looks so natural. I will be sticking with this fabulous foundation!
Pressed Powders -Tarte - All Pressed Powders [DISCONTINUED]
tracey_fox 9/29/2006 9:29:00 PM
The BEST pressed powder by far. I purchased it in the great provocateur compact, which is thin and stylish. I probably couldn't make this powder look cakey even if I tried. Keeps the shininess away for hours even with a light application. I wear it over my Shu Uemura Velvet Perfect powder foundation as a touch-up and it looks flawless. The only drawback, if you can call it that, is that the compact does not come with a sponge or puff, but I never use them anyway. I prefer to use a disposable cotton cosmetic pad... use it a few times and toss it, which keeps facial oils and such off of the powder. I will continue to purchase the refills of this great powder.
Powder -Cover Girl - Tru Blend Powder foundation [DISCONTINUED]

I usually wear Illuminare, but wanted to have something on hand that was quicker to apply for those days I was running late. I liked the coverage of the powder, and it didn't look too dry, but unfortunately it broke me out pretty badly after a few days of wear. I have oily, acne prone skin, but it was definitely this foundation that was causing my breakout problems. A week after I stopped wearing it, and without altering my skincare routine, my skin is back to its normal, clear condition. It's too bad, because the color matching and coverage was good. I would not buy it again.
Yuck! The color looked ok, but who could ever get over the awful taste of this stuff?? Made me gag.
I usually hate the long-wearing color/gloss combos because they flake off and make my lips feel funny. I decided to give this one a try because it promised to be more like a lipgloss, where the color was not so opaque. I was surprised that I like it so much. I bought it in Sleek Suede (a great neutral color that is perfect for work) and Cabernet (goes on lighter than in the bottle, nice for an evening out, darker but not too pink). The color applies a bit more sheer than others I've tried, and do NOT flake off. The gloss is very shiny, not too sticky, with no taste, which is a plus for me. The only drawback is that the colors are frosty, but not enough to keep me from using them. This is the only long-wearing color/gloss combo I would recommend. Oh, and the gloss pot pops out of the holder, so you can take it along without the color, and without buying a separate gloss-only package. Very convenient.
Misc Beauty Tools -Clean & Clear - Oil Absorbing Sheets

I love these things! I usually use two when blotting...one just for my forehead, and one for the rest of my face. I've never had a problem with them taking any makeup away or breaking me out, they just take away the oily shine and leave nothing behind. I only wish they were a bit cheaper because I use so many. The packaging isn't bad either, I like how the flap pulls one sheet out at a time when you open it. I'm never without these.
I have been wearing this mascara for a few weeks now and like it. I haven't had any problems with it flaking, and it has not melted on me. I have very straight sparse lashes and oily eye lids and find that this holds up very well. Doesn't thicken as well as I would like, so it loses a lippie. I really like the metal comb that comes with it, works very nicely separates the lashes.
