Polishes -Sinful - Nirvana

Taupe-y brown color, lovely color in the bottle, but not for me. Was surprisingly streaky when applied to my nails, and required 3 coats for opaque coverage, and required more time than other polish to dry.

This nail polish is holographic glitter suspended in very sheer turquoise-colored clear polish. Because the polish is so sheer, you need minimum of 4 coats for the flesh color of my nails to not show through and get my nails to look like the color in the bottle. Maybe I'm supposed to use this as a top coat on top of other blue/green-colored polish, but the turquoise tint in the polish may alter the look of the polish, if used as a top coat. I think it might be better to just find an opaque turquoise nail polish and combine it with holographic glitter top coat to achieve a similar look.

Loving this beautiful deep red color. The red is deep red, with no orange- gorgeous color with subtle shimmer, not at all glittery. The polish itself is great quality, I got full opaque coverage in just two coats. I applied it with Nails Inc base/top coats, and so far it's been 10 days since I applied the polish, but i haven't noticed any chipping. It was only 99 cents at Walgreens. Definitely will repurchase if I ever use up my polish!

Coral peach, fairly opaque polish. I applied it in a hurry, so the first coat looked streaky and the second coat was all I needed for full opaque finish. If you love coral peach color, this is a pretty good polish. As for me, this isn't exactly my favorite color, so I doubt I'll repurchase. Good quality polish though!

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Diamond Strength Nail Colour in Diamonds
toro2005 9/7/2012 2:53:00 AM
This top coat is awesome. Adds enough shimmer without going too glittery, perfect for someone like me who loves shiny, pretty nails but is old enough to know better. I like to layer it on subtle, nude-colored polish for extra fun without going full on disco. Doubles the number of nail polish I own too! I paid full price for this, but was still only $5.50 at my local Walgreens. So worth every penny.

Hate to be the lone critic here... I thought the color was pretty enough, and the payoff was great. Two layers for opaque nail polish. That said, I'm giving it 3 because the color description on the Sephora website said that this color was dusky pink nude. I should have looked at the color swatch on the Nails Inc website because it's pretty accurate. Not sure why this polish is called 'nude'. Nude, in my implies a bit of beige/brown added to the color. I would have called this color mauve-y pink instead. Ended up returning it as I was looking for more nude-colored polish.

Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - Megalast in "Private Viewing" #204A
toro2005 9/7/2012 1:33:00 AM
I have 204B, but it's also called Private Viewing. Not sure what the difference is. LOVE this polish. The color looks dark in the bottle, but on my nails, looks very nude, pink beige in color (at least under the indoor lighting). Took about three coats to go completely opaque, though I if you put on a thick layer, you can get away with two coats. The color is perfect for those who can't wear bright colors to work, and the color is so neutral, it will go with any clothes you wear. The brush is interesting. For me, it was easier to apply than the traditional brush as it was wider and was able to work through my nails quickly. For extra fun, I layered it with Sally Hansen's Diamond Strength nail color in Diamonds for extra shimmer. I can't comment on how well this will last, as I just applied it on my nails. So worth $1.49 I paid for this polish!

Concealers -By Terry - Touch-Expert

Disclaimer- I only tried this once at the makeup counter, so maybe my review isn't most useful. That said, sales associate used this concealer for my undereye circles. The result? Cakey and accentuated fine lines! I have horrible circles and this product didn't cover much (though nothing really does), but that didn't bother me. I don't like fine lines around my eyes!

Mascara -Korres - Provitamin B5 & Rice Bran Mascara
toro2005 4/24/2012 2:47:00 PM
I really like this mascara. I'm by no means a mascara expert. I hardly wear any, and I don't wear makeup on a daily basis. Even when I do wear makeup, it's minimal at best. This mascara provides very slight volumizing/lengthening effect. The end result is that I have my lashes but better effect, which goes perfectly with my "my skin but better" tinted moisturizer-based makeup. If you're going for the wow-factor mascara, this isn't it. This mascara goes on nicely, no clumping, no smudging (many mascara brands smudge no thanks my eye lid folds) and no flaking! This mascara was included in one of the sephora favorites series I purchased. I loved it so much decided to purchase a full-sized version... only to find that Sephora actually carried mini version of this mascara as their 100-point beauty insider gift! I got two more, so I have yet to purchase the full-size version of this mascara...

Primer/ Corrector -Paul & Joe - Moisturising Foundation Primer N
toro2005 3/8/2012 12:47:00 PM
This primer was voted in the top 3 in a Japanese cosmetic review site 3 years in a row, so I had to check it out. I'm a fairer-skinned Asian, so I went with 01 dragee. The color is a very light beige, and when I applied it to my face, it brightened (whitened) my face by 1 shade. This alone did not cover my imperfection at all. However, when I used this product with Boscia BB Cream, my skin never looked smoother and pores were less visible. And it looked natural. I'm glad I got this primer because now I can finish the BB cream I had stopped using because the shade was too dark for my skin color. This primer balanced out the darkness and somehow prevented darkening of the BB Cream over the course of the day. If you're fair-mid skin tone, you might consider pairing this primer with a foundation that is 1 shade darker than your skin color if you want to look more natural and not too pale.

Conditioner -Aubrey Organics - Honeysuckle Rose
toro2005 4/21/2010 5:35:00 AM
This was a pretty good conditioner. My hair was soft and shiny. Except for the smell. Smells like Sunblock! The smell is really strong, especially when used in combination with the shampoo. I ended up using Burt's Bees shampoo and this conditioner and the smell was less offensive. That said, I don't think I'll buy again. I have relatively trouble-free hair and I tend to place a bit of value in the smell of conditioner more than its ability to moisturize my hair...

Conditioner -Aubrey Organics - GPB Conditioner
toro2005 4/21/2010 5:22:00 AM
This GPB conditioner does moisturize my hair nicely. I'll give 5 lippies for that. But what bothers me about this product is the smell. This conditioner smells really really bad. Grandma's perfume bad. I wish Aubrey makes hair care products with less offensive smell, or unscented even.

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector
toro2005 4/11/2010 8:57:00 AM
Of all the concealers I've tried in the past, this one might be the best one out of the bunch. I've tried Cle de Peau, Armani, Lancome, Shiseido and several drug store brands, but the Corrector in Bisque is the one that gives the most coverage. Now I'm only giving 4 lippies because it lessens the look of dark circles, but does not completely eliminate it. I've always tried concealers in my skin tone, but this was the first time I've tried concealers in more pink tone (I'm Asian with pale skin, slightly yellow undertone), but the pink offsets the dark circles better without totally highlighting under the eyes (which often accentuated the dark circles).

Tinted Moisturizer -Sonia Kashuk - Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 (tube)
toro2005 4/11/2010 8:45:00 AM
I knew this product wasn't as good as the previous Radiant Tinted Moisturizer from reading the reviews, but at $12.99 I decided to give it a shot. I like it! It gives some coverage, evening out my somewhat uneven skin tone without giving me that "I'm wearing foundation" look. Looks very natural, which is the look I'm going for. It has a bit of matte finish, so my skin isn't slick after I spread it on my face. I picked the color linen, and this color seem to match my pale Asian skin quite nicely. And no breakouts either.

Moisturizers -Olay - Moisture Therapy Cream- Sensitive Skin [DISCONTINUED]
toro2005 5/15/2006 11:06:00 PM
I purchased this lotion following all the raves I read on this site, but I'm not happy at all with this product. Even though it's for sensitive skin, my skin developed rashes and my skin is also quite dry. Since the moisturizer is the only item I changed in my daily skincare regimen, I think it's safe to conclude that this lotion is what's causing all the problem.
