Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Kabana - Green Screen

I love this sunscreen. I'm on a mission to 1. use as many natural products as possible that don't have chemicals. 2. get rid of what I think is cosmetic acne. That said, this sunscreen works great for me. The ingredient list is very simple and natural - nothing that I don't understand what it is and it doesn't cause any of those pesky little bumps under the skin. It has moisturizing ingredients & the tinted formula is pretty great to use as a base - to even out the skin tone. It's a little pink on me, but once it sinks in, it looks nice. I can pretty much use this in place of foundation, powder or tinted moisturizer. So this sunscreen is helping clear up my skin, protect it very well against the sun and damage from the sun and allowing me wear minimal makeup. Perfect!

Hair Color -Revlon - Colorsilk
rated 5 of 5

This product continues to amaze me. I can't believe how cheap it is. Especially when compared to a salon visit! Even compared to other box kits, it's the cheapest!! Every once in a while I think I can get a better color or a more moisturizing color with a more expensive box kit and I always end up regretting it and coming back to Colorsilk. I've been many many shades and I haven't found one that I don't like. The browns stay true (don't turn red) and the blondes are great too! I'm trying to grow my hair plus go light blonde. I tried a L'oreal kit and got a ton of split ends. Trimmed my hair and about a week later got the ultra light ash blond in color silk.... my hair isn't nearly as light as the box cover girl (which is fine since her hair is practically white) but I ended up with a gorgeous medium blond with highlights!! Best part.....I'm looking at my ends very close and there aren't any splits!!! My hair is soft, healthy, not brassy at all... just a cool med. blonde. I still want to go lighter but I'll wait a bit to give my hair a break. But in the meantime, I'm very happy with what I have.

Hair -Kerastase - Sublimateur Jour

Holy Moly!!! I already had the Ciment Thermique that I had been using for blow drying, which made a huge difference in the condition of my hair (split ends, overall health) but I needed a little more...I felt I really needed a leave in to help moisturize and soften in addition to the heat protectant. I did a bunch of lookups yesterday between SJ and NT... there were so many that said NT was just as good as a leave in... but in the end I chose SJ....This morning after I washed and conditioned, towel dried, I put in the SJ. I didn't even need to use my comb to get the tangles out. There weren't any!! I just ran the product through my length and it was perfectly straight. Before I blew it dry, I ran the Ciment through my hair and oh my gosh... my hair was nice with just the CT, but with BOTH of them, it's so amazing! It's so soft, swingy, silky, moisturized and just gorgeous!! I love my hair!!! I couldn't say that about 2 months ago before I started using Kerastase!!! I love the whole line!!

Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Professionnel Platinum Air Brush #55
rated 5 of 5
tonyawyatt 4/16/2010 5:29:00 PM

I was a little suprised that this brush was $34 but once I used it I knew I had made a good purchase. It's a very nice brush that doesn't shed (I hate brushes that leave hairs all over my face, eew!), blends wonderfully and is very soft. My skin is kind of sensitive and some brushes irritate it and feel uncomfortable but not this one. It is expensive, but since it's a nice brush, I'm hoping to get years of use out of it.

Bought this a zillion times. I always have about 6 on hand at any given time. Bathroom, by the bed, in jacket pockets, purse, car, desk... everywhere!! It's just good! Smells/tastes good, light pink finish, not goopy or sticky. My kids know the smell of mama's kisses!!

Blush -Estee Lauder - Tender Blush -- Pink Kiss
rated 5 of 5
tonyawyatt 4/16/2010 5:21:00 PM

Very pretty pink powder blush. I have a lot of pink in my complexion so it seems hard for me to find a blush that will show up on my medium skin tone (NC25). But this blush has good color payoff and last on the skin a long time. It looks good in any light, just perfect. I could pretty much wear this blush exclusively.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear
rated 5 of 5

Great foundation!! I was on the hunt for a full coverage foundation that looked natural, didn't feel tight or dry, didn't make me oily, wore all day.... you know, a miracle in a bottle!! This foundation fits the bill almost pefectly. The shade is a great match for my NC25 skin with lots of red undertones (3C1, pebble). When she put this on one side of my face and the DW Light on the other side - after about 2 hours the side with the DW Light had settled into my pores and started looking weird. But the regular DW still looked great.

Cleansers -Dermalogica - Skin Clearing Wash
rated 5 of 5
tonyawyatt 4/12/2010 11:18:00 AM

I love this cleanser. I bought it in the big bottle with the pump and you literally, only need a pea size amount. This bottle will probably last me the whole year. So even the hefty price tag isn't so awful if you actually use up the product. It has a slight tea tree scent, a clear gel, makes your skin feel very clean but not stripped. I have normal/dry skin and I was afraid this would dry me out and I'd have to only use it once a day or every other day, but it's fine as my only cleanser - I use it twice a day. I use the facial brush with this to really get the cleanser to work onto my face and though I don't know if this heals existing blemishes, I think it's great at keeping them away and maintaining consistantly clear skin. At night I pre-cleanse with an oil or just wash twice with this.

Tinted Moisturizer -Dermalogica - Sheer Tint Moisture SPF 15
rated 5 of 5
tonyawyatt 4/12/2010 11:13:00 AM

I love all the Dermalogica products that I've tried and this is no exception. I love that it's a 3 in 1 product. Moisturizer (actually makes my skin feel comfortable, not greasy or left still dry), sunscreen (spf 15, could be higher but I work in an office, so not horrible) and tint. The tint of this stuff is pretty good. It by no means covers like a foundation. But if you just want to even your skin out, it's great. I still need to use concealer over it, but since I'm not having to use a heavy foundation, that's fine for me. Tube is a good size. I can see it lasting a while, will definitely buy again when I run out. Probably twice a year is plenty.

Shampoo -Kerastase - Bain de Force
rated 5 of 5
tonyawyatt 4/8/2010 11:20:00 AM

Normally, I would NEVER review products after one use but I just have to say that yesterday I bought the Bain de Force shampoo, Antiusure conditioner and the Ciment Thermique treatment (leave in, use before blow dry) and I'm blown away!!! In my 33 years I have never used a product that has made such a difference on my hair in just one use (or made it look like this after multiple uses). I have long, straight, color treated hair that has been getting a lot of split ends lately and I was thinking I may have to cut a good inch off (which is horrible when you're trying to grow it)....Literally, after one use, my hair is so soft, shiny, perfectly straight and though the split ends are not completely gone it feels mended and stronger. I spent over $100 on the three products which is RIDICULOUS!!! But for products that really work, I will definitely make room in the budget so I can always buy this stuff!!

Powder -Sheer Cover - Sheer Cover - Mineral Foundation
rated 4 of 5
tonyawyatt 2/15/2010 2:43:00 PM

I have tried several mineral makeups and this so far has been the best. It's not perfect but it's best for my skin. What makes this different than the other mineral foundations I've tried is this....I don't "feel" it on my face (this is huge for me), it doesn't turn colors, it doesn't make my face look oily (and my skin is typically dry), it doesn't dry my face, it doesn't have particles that are sparkly. I feel like this product evens out my skin tone nicely. The only two things I would change about it is that I wish it would stay put a little longer, it doesn't seem to last all through the workday. And I wish it blended just a little better. It's good, but I can still see a touch of powder when I look up close.

Concealers -Sheer Cover - Concealer
rated 5 of 5
tonyawyatt 2/15/2010 2:34:00 PM

I love this concealer! It has a very thin creamy consistancy that's very easy to blend and the shade matches my skin perfectly. I don't think it's cakey at all. I think it's better if used to cover flat imperfections, such as redness or a dark patch or circles under the eyes. I don't think it's the best concealer for covering raised bumps. I have skin discoloration around my temple area and I just blend this on before applying the powder foundation and I feel it evens me out and makes my skin look very even toned.

Skincare - Face -Clinique - 3 Step System
rated 5 of 5
tonyawyatt 1/22/2010 2:02:00 PM

I know that the Clinque 3 Step doesn't get much love here. And I can totally understand why. When I first started it, I bought the liquid cleanser in mild, Toner #2, DDmoisture Gel. After about 3 days my skin was a shriveled up mess. Dry as dry can be. But I was determined to stick to one skin care line and see if using one line continually would benefit me - since I've spent the last 10 years going from product to product to product. So I went back to clinique and traded my products to the liquid cleanser in extra mild (non foaming, no detergent, wonderfully mild, awesome cleanser), MILD toner (the key here!!! this stuff is amazing, doesn't burn, sting, dry out my skin but it exfoliates gently and feels wonderful) and the DDmoisture lotion (much better than the gel, doesn't break me out, nice pump, doesn't make me oily, greasy and satisfies my dryness, just plump nice skin). So this regime is PERFECT!!! My skin is finally clear, plump, not dry, not oily, just perfect. I don't have any breakouts. But the trick is to not be suckered into the more potent powerful stuff. Just be gentle with your skin. It'll thank you!! Price is also very good.

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Brylcreem Power Hold Hair Gel
rated 5 of 5
tonyawyatt 1/14/2010 1:59:00 PM

I was waiting for this product to come up on MUA so I could review it. I love Brylcreem!!!! In my opinion, this is not a gel, doesn't offer any type of hold and does not make your hair hard by any means. It comes in a large tube and it says "a little dab will do 'ya" and they are right!! You do not use any more than a pea size amount (and I have long hair) applied to hair from ears down (don't get next to your roots) before you blow dry and seriously, your hair will be like silk. It gives it that heavy, thick, moist feeling without being greasy at all (IF you don't use any more than a pea, otherwise you'll be very oily). It makes blowdrying a dream, it comes out with zero fly-aways or frizzies. I will never blowdry without putting a little of this in first. I really didn't want to like this product so much. I didn't want my HG hair product to be this cream made for men, with hardly a scent and ugly packaging. But honestly, nothing is better than this. So I will continue to buy forever. HG!!

Toners -Equate - glycerin & rosewater Toner
rated 5 of 5
tonyawyatt 12/30/2009 10:49:00 AM

OMG!! This is so crazy! I've been shriveled up for about 4 months since I started using tazorac. My skin is red, irritated and dry. However, I don't have any breakouts! So I've been trying all kinds of moisturizers and they either cause little breakouts, don't moisturize enough or leave me greasy. I bought a bottle of glycerin rosewater, poured it into a spray bottle and used a little on my face. My facial skin was so moisturized from this water, I can't believe it! So I sprayed it all over my body, and again, so much moisture! My lips are completely back to normal. The skin around my chin and mouth isn't chapped and flaking. I spray it on my hands and my hands look normal, not old. It's amazing!! I've used the Burts Glycerin & Rosewater and didn't have nearly the same effect as the generic Albertsons (Equate) brand.
