Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15
tonicologne 3/30/2006 4:02:00 PM
Finally, a foundation that actually covers my rosacea without that heavy, mask-y look. I've tried many foundations, low and high-end, and wasn't able to find good coverage and a matte finish. I knew my search was over when the make-up artist applied Studio Fix Fluid. He used a brush and within seconds, my skin looked even and polished. He tried my usual NC 30 as well as NC 25 and decided he liked the NC 25's coverage better. I've been applying it with a foundation brush and only need a little to do my entire face. If you use too much, it tends to settle into pores and make you look as if you're wearing too much pressed powder. I took off a point for packaging. Come on MAC, you know this should have been in a pump bottle! I paid the extra three bucks because I can't stand regular bottles. Ick! Ladies, give this one a try (especially if you have rosacea, oily or combination skin.) So far, I've had no breakouts from this product.

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre - Eager
tonicologne 12/25/2005 7:32:00 PM
I talked a friend into buying this. It turned out to be too bright for her so she gave it to me. Eager is a beautiful coral. Perfect for brightening up your face during the winter with a nude colored eye, some liner and blush. You're good to go. I'd definitely buy another when I finish this tube.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Sorberry Lipglass Tasti
tonicologne 12/10/2005 2:11:00 PM
This lipglass is so beautiful. It reminds me of Fresh Moroccan and O. The color is a gorgeous bronzy red that looks incredible in the light. I'll bet it's great over Auburn liner.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Pink Poodle Lipglass
tonicologne 12/10/2005 2:06:00 PM
This is one of my favorites. Pink Poodle is a bright pink with an underlying gold shimmer. It's hard to find a good pink like this one. Looks nice with Magenta lipliner or over a red liner.

Lip Liners -MAC - Lipliner- Auburn

Auburn lipliner is incredible! It's not too brown or orange. Very under-rated imo. Goes great with orangy reds, oranges and under gloss.

Lip Liners -MAC - Lure

This is a great liner! I'm surprised that it's not more popular. A good coral liner is hard to find. This is great under Retro, Monarch, even Dainty Cake (helps to darken it up a bit.)

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Flowerbelle - Rouse

I bought this based on the reviews here and comments on Frag Board. I totally agree. It's a steal! I love that Autumn from LaCreme sent me seven free samples as well. Definitely an alternative to Un Zeste de Rose, which can be too citrusy and even Stella, which goes can go sour at times. A winner!

Oy! I can't believe this has such a low rating. I'm on my second bottle. I find this similar to Escada Collection, but not identical. It's very lush, warm and full. If you can't find it, Sonoma Scent Studio has a dupe that's spot on. This is one of my all-time favorites. Why is it that all the good ones get discontinued?!

Blush -Maybelline - Dream Mousse Blush in Coffee Cake
tonicologne 9/4/2005 12:26:00 PM
This is a great color if you feel the rest are too light, pink or plum. I have rosacea, so I don't need to look as if I'm blushing! Coffee cake is a bronzy peach and works well to tone down a ruddy complexion. Can also serve as a bronzer, imo. Great product. Very creamy but not greasy. A little goes a long way.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Gilles Cantuel Creature d'Anges

A good friend recommended this when I was suffering from allergies two summers ago. Nothing else agreed with me and I was tired of Cashmere Mist! Creature d'Anges is a mysterious fragrances. I haven't been able to find notes or much information about it. I ordered a gift set from perfumebay.com, which was an excellent value. The scent is powdery and soft without being cloying or sickening. The lotion is very good, too. I'd rate this higher if I could.

Fragrances -Susanne Lang - Vanilla Coconut

I'm surprised this isn't more popular, but suppose it's a love/hate kind of fragrance. I fell in love at first sniff. On me, it's very beachy... kind of coconut and pineapple. The dry oil is very good, too. Update: I had a lotion custom-blended(vanilla coconut with black orchid and red ginger) at the new Susanne Lang counter at Saks Boston. If you're in the area, check it out!

Yes, this can be a heavy fragrance but you have to know how to wear it. I have many of the products: cologne, bath oil, body cream, powder, pure parfum... A little dab will do ya. The powder is top quality, as is the parfum.

Fragrances -Bond No.9 - Nouveau Bowery
tonicologne 4/20/2005 6:50:00 PM
I bought this two years ago, during my lime/basil phase. Recently, it's been on the shelf but now I'm ready to spritz with wild abandon. This is similar to but better than Jo Malone's Lime Basil Mandarin. It's more floral and less one-dimensional. I'm giving it a "5" for packaging only because I bought a cute pink sprayer for my plain, boring bottle! UPDATE: If you're looking for a good, fresh spring fragrance check this one out. Jo Malone LBM gets all the attention. I think Nouveau Bowery is more feminine. You can layer it with the LBM body lotion.

If I could rate this less than 1, I would. This is one of the worst fragrances I've ever tried. I sprayed it on at Jeffrey. While walking to Aedes, I wondered what the awful smell was. IMO, TdN smells like strongly-scented baby powder over body odor. Roflmao regarding "powdered scrotum." Scrub, scrub, scub...I couldn't wash it off fast enough (this is a stubborn fragrance!)

Lipstick -LORAC - Jennifer Lipstick
tonicologne 4/13/2005 2:09:00 PM
I went crazy looking for "Jennifer." Finally, I emailed Lorac and asked if it's been discontinued. Luckily, it hasn't been. It's new name is Tango. I was assured that it's the same color and formula as Jennifer. Beautiful color, very long-lasting but not dry. If you like bronzy reds, this one's for you! UPDATE: Although I was assured Tango is "the same color and formula" I think it's slightly different in that it's not as red as Jennifer. My rating stands, as the color is unusual and lasts for hours.
