Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Steam Cream

I was a very loyal fan (bought and finished 3 tins) until recently when some freak SPF/Sun allergy that I've never had threw me off course. This used to be my go-to moisturizer. It was enough for dry winters, and still great for the summer if I applied less. I'm really sad now that it doesn't really work for my skin, because it made my skincare routine so simple - I never bothered with multiple products, just cleanser toner and this and I was done. The only thing off-putting for most people is that since it's a huge tin you have to dip your finger in... I used to be okay with it but now I have to be extra careful with my skin because it just gets sensitive and flaky for seemingly no reason! I still really like Steam Cream though, will probably get it as a body/hand cream because I really like the smell and how it's not greasy like body butters but still moisturizing enough. Just not for my face I guess.

Toners -Origins - make a difference skin rejuvenating treatment lotion

This product didn't really do much for me. My main skin problems, aka redness under the nose areas, shiny T-zone, etc still remained. I didn't really feel like my skin got extra moisture retention, but neither did it break out or get worse. (If anyone else has seen me review stuff, yeah I got this as a tester as well - so bear in mind I haven't exactly used this for a long enough period of time to judge as well as a lot of other people!)

Masks -Origins - Drink Up
toastboateve 6/5/2012 9:23:00 AM
A while ago, I got pretty intensely sunburnt after a trip to the beach. It almost turned into an allergic reaction (to the sun, apparently says Google) and my skin was red, raw and peeling. Gross and painful. Anyway, I was looking around for anything that would replenish my poor dehydrated and peeling skin, and I had a small tester of this mask lying around so I tried it, it did not sting as much as my Taiwanese brand face mask, smelled great, and did a pretty decent job of healing my red sensitive skin that time - only about 3 days and I was back to normal. I am planning to buy this again in the full size when I finish using my other face mask. I guess a downside is judging from what Origins normally prices their products I'm guessing it is kind of pricey for how much you get?

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre - House Wine

I got this for free with Back2Mac, so I like it mainly for that reason (free shit is always great). I was contemplating for a long time about getting a red lippie, and my friend recommended this color, but when I tried it I felt it was too sheer and a tad too light-colored for my skintone (plus I wanted something darker and less sheer anyway). Nevertheless, I chose this for my Back2Mac because it does give a nice color - a shade lighter than my fave which is Party Line, and House Wine is also incredibly moisturizing. Since it's quite sheer, you could even apply it then blot it for a light cherry red kind of lip stain. Kind of makes it more useable for an everyday kind of look I think. With my two red lippies, Party Line, I use it for night since it's darker, and House Wine for day.

Lipstick -MAC - Party Line-Cremesheen

I love this color - I was looking for a great red lippie, but not the bright classic color - I wanted just a shade darker. My friend suggested House Wine (which I got later for free with Back2Mac haha) but when I tried that at the shop it seemed a little too sheer and light. I tried this instead, which is I think exactly one shade darker, and it works great! My skin tone is kind of ambiguous and not really dark or pale, (I can look pale or look dark depending on what I wear???) and some people usually are wary of red lips because the wrong color can look cheap if not done right - this lippie is done right. This is a great red lipstick for going out, paired with an LBD and big hair for that dark mysterious look ;) - it's just bright enough yet dark enough and not gothy at all.

Concealers -Laura Mercier - Secret Concealer

I use this every day to cover my perpetual dark circles, and it works great - I got a slightly warmer tone so I don't end up with a greyish under-eye area. Looked better when I lived in California and I was more tanned, but now I moved back to Asia and got a bit paler - still works great though. I gave a 4 because on my super oily skin it doesn't last the whole day, and I end up having to retouch when I'm at work or something. That and it is pretty pricey - but I got easily persuaded by the salesperson after she tried it on me and I saw what a miracle worker this product is!
