Fragrances -Jo Malone - Verbenas de Provence

Sharp and summery, very pleasant. More verbena/floral than pure lemon (that's a good thing). I wore it alone this summer, but I would layer it for winter--goes well with Pomegranate Noir and Blue Agava and Cacao. This lasts longer than most JM fragrances for me.

Powder -Laura Mercier - Mineral Powder SPF 15

This is really the HG for me. Real Sand was a perfect match for my skin and I get wonderful even skin without looking powdery. (That said, the next customer who came to the counter while I was there had a very hard time finding a match for her skin tone.) Application is easy: the MUA advised to really smoosh the powder into the bristles of the brush and then, in turn, really smoosh it onto my face in a circular motion, and this works. I would advise springing for the brush; it's exactly the right shape. I see LM has come out with a mineral primer and I'm anxious to try that. I'm really happy with this; let them show you how to use it if you, like me, have no experience with mineral foundation. Well worth it!

Treatments -Jo Malone - Vitamin E Gel

Yow! 90 bucks for this? Wellll...the fabulous Scott at N-M on Michigan Avenue in Chicago very kindly gave me some samples and I am using it on a surgery scar. After several weeks it seems to be working better than other Vitamin Es I've tried. I think I might actually buy some when I use the samples up. I really like the texture and as the scar has definitely flattened and is lightening somewhat. You only need a tiny bit, so 90 bucks' worth will definitely go a long way. For some reason this year I didn't have the usual awful dry chapped face that I usually have in the winter here, but I bet it would be beneficial for that. Nice gel texture and I don't notice any fragrance to it at all.

Fragrances -Jo Malone - Nectarine Blossom and Honey

I think this is the best Jo Malone yet (and Pomegranate Noir is tough to beat!). On me the peach note wasn't overwhelming--the sweet undernotes came out instead. Just a lovely, ladylike fragrance that's going to be great for summer. This one seems to last longer than other JMs I have. Can't wait for N-M to get the body cream back in stock! I also would bet this would be nice in the candle.

Fragrances -Sisley - Eau du Soir

This has become my absolute signature, and not one I would have thought I'd select. It's interesting that when I first tried this in the store it lasted all day but since I bought it, I find I do have to reapply. The chypre drydown is fabulous. I can see myself wearing this the rest of my life. Plus, the bottle is very cool. Oddly, it layers well with Pomegranate Noir by Jo Malone. My husband is not an appreciator of fragrances, sadly, but he noticed that one!
