Lip Treatments -Blistex - Moisture Melt Lip Protectant
tlatrice 10/9/2012 4:02:00 PM
I love this lip treatment! It's a long lasting moisturizing product. I was a little hesitant because I'd bought the Blistex Revive and Restore duo pack and I really liked the Restore formula more than the Revive. And it turns out that while the Restore contains a good amount of lanolin, the Revive had more oxybenzone, octinoxate and dimethicone in it. The Revive was more drying on my lips. Looking at the ingredient list, I saw the same types of ingredients in the oxybenzone and octinoxate in it. But figured for $1.50 I'd give it a go. I put this product on at 8am and even after eating and drinking for breakfast AND lunch, my lips were still soft. I really only reapplied it because I LOVE the scent and taste. The scent is a light airy but sweet scent. Makes me think of a spa. The taste is sweet but not sugary, if that makes sense. Overall, this is a great product and I will definitely repurchase.

Lip Treatments -Bonne Bell - lip smacker 100% natural
tlatrice 12/22/2011 3:19:00 PM
I bought this in Honeydew Melon. As other reviewers have said, it's gritty when first applied and while it had a nice scent, it has no flavor, which is somewhat disappointing for me. It did moisturize my lips pretty well, but the grittiness was such a turn off for me that once I ran out (thankfully) I decided not to buy another one. I was really hoping I would like it because the ingredients seemed like it would be so wonderful on the lips. Maybe I'll just have to make my own lip balm. LOL!

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer
tlatrice 11/25/2011 3:47:00 AM
I went to Sephora back in 2009 and asked the saleslady to help me put together an 'everyday' look. Nothing too 'done up', but nice. She used this primer in the Blend formulation (apricot) and a Sephora pressed powder on my face. She said that my skin was smooth enough that I could get away with out a daily foundation. When I looked in the mirror I loved the look. However, that was under the bright lights in the store. When I got home and looked in the mirror, my face looked "ashy". You could TELL I had powder on when I stood under regular lights. I'd planned to take the primer back and the powder back, figuring they were BOTH bad. But I let the 90 day return policy slip by so, I was stuck with them. Shortly after the 90 day period, I went to the MAC store and the SA there sold me the Mineralize Skin Finish Powder to use as a finishing powder to set my foundation. It looked wonderful on me! I was in love. So I decided to try the MSF with the Smashbox primer that was sitting STILL UNOPENED under my bathroom sink. HOLY GRAIL FACE COMBO! These 2 products together give my skin an airbrushed look that is simply amazing! I think it's what the Sephora SA tried to achieve, but that Sephora powder just did not work for me. Twice I've been in a hurry and skipped my primer step, thinking I'd just put on some powder in the car. Within 20 minuted my face looks all splotchy. Awful! Big oily patches everywhere. I NEVER have that problem with I use Smashbox Primer. If Smashbox ever stops making this I don't know what I'll do. Also, I think the plastic pump bottle is far better than the glass one. I've never tried the new squeeze bottle it now comes in. I absolutely love this product. I have repurchased several times over the past 2 years and will always purchase this product. (Also, for reference, I am African American. I wear NC50 in MAC Studio FX foundation and MSF in Deep Dark.)

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Luscious Liquid Lipstick - ALL
tlatrice 7/15/2011 12:02:00 PM
I have this in almost every shade they come in and I love them all. First off, I LOVE the applicator. I hate those doe foot wand applicators found in most lip glosses. I was sold on the sponge applicator alone on this product. Then the colors are so nice. As has been said repeatedly, they're not really 'lipsticks', they're glosses. Nicely pigmented glosses. I've actually worn them alone with a lip liner and I get a MLBB look. From the pinks (Baby Lips and Pink Lemonade), I get a nice nude lip with the sheerest hint of color. From the browns (Bark, Maple Sugar, Caramel Candy, and Brownie Points) i get a nice nude lip with varying shades of 'nude' if that makes any since (LOL!). I have Ruby Slipper and Cherry Tart but haven't worn them out yet. However, I think I will try them this fall. I've got a deep vampy lip color that I think these will really look great over. Today I tried Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Caramel Candy over the ELF Matte Lip Color in Praline lined with NYX Lip Liner in Espresso. *swoons*. Nude lip glory!!!! LOL!!! (I am an NC50 for reference) Overall, I love these and have repurchased several times since I started using them last year. I like that they're not as sticky as other lip glosses. They don't last long, but neither do any other lipglosses I've tried. In all, great product ELF!

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Color Correcting in Smashing Color Blend
tlatrice 4/25/2011 9:43:00 PM
I LOVE THIS PRIMER!!! I use this daily under my MAC Minieralize Skinfinish Natural Powder and it makes my skin looks flawless. I've been asked so many times what kind of foundation am I wearing. But I don't need foundation when I wear this. It's great! I tried to use the Bronzing Primer, but on my NC50 skin it makes me look orange. I'm going back to the Blend formula. Amazing product! I highly recommend it and will definitely repurchase.

Blush -Black Radiance - Toasted Almond- Baked Blush
tlatrice 4/25/2011 1:34:00 PM
FINALLY - I found my brown blush! I've been looking for a brown blush for everyday wear for months! I''m not a big fan of pink/red blushes for my everyday look because I tend to wear more golden colors on my eyes and lips. This blush is the color I've been searching for. Looks great on my NC50 skin and is very buildable. It also blends well. Highly recommended!

I absolutely LOVE this product! I'm an NC50. I use this daily and it gives me such a flawless finish. For daily use I use Smashbox Photo Finish Primer (Apricot) topped with this powder and Sally Girl Shimmer Stripes as a bronzer. The combination gives me an almost airbrushed look. I love it and I always get compliments on it. Will definitely repurchase!

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Smog
tlatrice 3/26/2011 12:44:00 AM
This is my favorite UD shadow. It is the BEST everyday shadow I've ever tried. Pair it with Toasted or Baked as highlights and you've got either a beautiful warm, golden look or a gorgeous cool taupey look. Twice Baked in the outer V creates a nice look with Smog as well (can you tell I'm an Urban Decay junkie??? LOL!) I have Smog in the pressed shadow form and the loose pigment. As beautiful as it is dry it's even more stunning wet! I will never be without it.
