Cleansers -Neutrogena - Fresh Foaming Cleanser
tiniree 2/12/2012 7:40:00 PM
Bought this hoping I would like it as much as I've liked other Neutrogena products. I wanted a gentle cleanser I could use twice and a day that would remove makeup at night. While I will say it does an excellent job of removing makeup, after 4 days of twice daily use, my combo skin became horribly dry. I usually only wear a moisturizer after I cleanse in the the AM, but with this product, I found my skin absolutely "craved" moisture after four days use. I have discontinued using it and will continue looking for a more gentle cleanser.

Misc Beauty Tools -Olay - Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System

I purchased this two weeks ago and love it! My 46 y/o skin was starting to really look older (ie: dull, dry patches, larger pores, etc.) and because of this I was having a hard time finding a really good foundation. On the day I bought this, I was actually trying to find a foundation that would look good and do what it said.....make my skin look younger. The lady at Walgreen's very politely said that I really needed to get my skin in better shape first or I wouldn't be happy with any foundation. She suggested exfoliating and moisturizing. I have never been good at keeping this up. My skin can be somewhat sensitive to harsh scrubs, etc. and I was leery about using one. When I saw this I remembered I had something similar when I was a teenager and I loved using it. Now I do know that if you overdo it, your skin will react. So I wanted to make sure this product didn't act like sandpaper. I am two weeks into using this product twice a day (yes TWICE a day) on low and without putting a lot of pressure on the brush against my face. I use the cleanser sample it came with and really like it. I have also started making sure I apply a moisturizer after each use (I have gone back to basics and am using the Original Oil of Olay at night and the one with SPF for day). I am happy to say that my skin is LOVING this! It is definitely softer and more supple, and my kids said my skin looks "really good"! I don't expect miracles from a product. This does just what I expected it to do: Gently and effectively cleanses my skin and makes it softer.

Treatments -L'Oreal - Advanced RevitalLift Face & Neck Cream

Tried this product for two days....and that's all I could stand! By far the greasiest moisturizer I've used in a while. And, yes, I only used a small amount. I put it on after using my cleanser and serum and just couldn't stand the feel of it. And the smell?? Why do these products for the face need such a heavily perfumed scent??? Plus, not happy with the pump packaging that is so popular today. You just know you aren't going to get all the product out. Took it back to Walgreen's.

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete All Day Moisturizer with sunscreen Sensitive Skin SPF15 (classic gentle formula)
tiniree 2/17/2011 4:25:00 PM
Over the last couple years, I have tried different moisturizers. My skin is reacting to normal "close to 50" hormonal changes so it goes from t-zone oily with dry patches, to dry, to normal. I have tried most of the OTC moisturizers that claim to be anti-aging and hadn't found one that felt right. Most left me feeling like I had a ton of grease on my face and made my makeup look even worse. When I was younger, before I felt I had to try every "anti-aging miracle" product out there, I used the original Oil of Olay pink lotion. And I liked it! So yesterday morning I decided to try something radical: Go back to basics. I went to Walgreens and looked for my old standby. I found it. But then I thought about the fact that it doesn't have any SPF. Now that, I wouldn't compromise on. I looked to the left and found Olay Complete for SS with SPF 15....Perfect! I bought a bottle and went home and tried it. I LOVED IT....right from the start! It didn't feel heavy or greasy. Later in the day and all day today....I'm still loving it. Just a good ol' basic moisturizer....yeah! Oh, and just for good measure....I went back this morning and bought a bottle of the original for night use :) I will still use my "lift and firm" serum and my "peels", but for me, basic may be best.

Powder -Everyday Minerals - foundation semi-matte formula
tiniree 2/14/2011 6:37:00 PM
This makeup comes in so many colors and formula's it will take most at least a couple trial and errors to pin down the right color and your favorite formula. That said after I had received 2 sample kits, I thought I had it figured out. I ordered Multi-tasking neutral in the Orginal Glo formula. I was happy with it, at first, but noticed that the color darkened after my natural oils started melding with it after about 1 hour. Also noticed that my nose and chin "shine" came thru quicker than I liked. NOTE: I was very happy though that my skin, which can be considered sensitive, had no reaction whatsoever. After a few days, I received in the mail, the 3rd sample kit I had orderd (which I forgot about) in the Fair colors. All along I was thinking, "the Fair selection will be too light for me". I was wrong again, with both color AND formula! I am happy to say that I found my perfect match in Fairly light neutral in the semi-matte formula and I LOVE IT! I have been using it now for about two weeks and my skin has had NO breakouts, rashes, problems whatsoever! In fact, I think this stuff has actually helped my skin get in better condition. I have ordered a full size of the fairly light neutral in semi-matte and plan on keeping this makeup as my HG.

Lotions/ Creams -Udderly Smooth - Hand Cream
tiniree 2/4/2011 3:29:00 PM
Our family was introduced to this product the first winter we lived in Colorado. Our skin wasn't used to drying out in the winter and we all had very dry, very cracked skin. That's when our neighbor brought us a jar of this. That was 15 years ago and we still always have a jar on hand. Note: We purchase our Udderly Smooth in the jar pictured above, NOT in the tube. The tube version is watery and not nearly as creamy. It also doesn't sink into the skin. Pros: Large jar last forever; Don't use much; Very creamy; Not oily or greasy; Works well on real dry or cracked skin. Cons: 1. Sold in a tube that almost seems to have a different product in it. Just doesn't work well at all. ALWAYS go for the jar! 2. The fragrance is a little strong, but not overpowering.

Powder -Everyday Minerals - Foundation Original Glo Formula
tiniree 2/2/2011 4:21:00 PM
The other day I rec my sample kit of base foundations. I haven't been able wear ANY makeup for 2 yrs now because of repeated eye surgeries. Couldn't risk getting anything in the eye. At my last visit I asked my Dr if I could start wearing some. He said anything as long as its natural. The least amount of chemicals the better. I had never really liked foundations before. I never seemed to find that perfect shade, and didn't like the final results. I have large pores & they always seemed to "jump out" when I used foundation/powder. Well, I saw a review here for EM and decided to check it out. I ordered two sample kits in Fair and Med. Yesterday I spent a couple hrs just trying all the shades and narrowing them down. I would check out the different formulas tomorrow. Found a wonderful match in Multi-Tasking Neutral. My sample of this color came in Semi-matte. The finish was fine and I thought I was done choosing. Then this morning, I decided to try all three of the formulas (ignoring the colors). I'm am SO glad I did!! While the semi-matte was fine, I was thrilled at the Original Glo formula. Made my combo/dry skin seem moisturized and the makeup didn't settle into my pores and tiny wrinkles. If I am going to have a reaction to makeup, it usually shows up in the way of making my eyes water terribly and my skin will possibly itch. I kept this makeup on both days & in both the SM and OG formulas, and didn't have one problem. I placed an order this morning for the base and also added the multi task concealer and finishing dust in trial sizes. I am hoping I have the same happy results. UPDATE: Feb 13th: Found that the Original Glo formula didn't keep the "shine" at bay very long. I ended up ordering the Semi-matte formula. Didn't have a reaction to the OG, just wasn't happy with the oil shine coming thru.

Treatments -Garnier - Ultra Lift Pro Gravity Defying Cream
tiniree 5/12/2010 1:37:00 AM
Needed a new moisturizer and decided to try Garnier since a friend told me she was happy with their products. I am 45 and have combo. skin. I also will have breakouts occasionally so a heavy cream is a "no-no". Really love this moisturizer. Have used it for one week now and so far..no breakouts or other skin problems due to use. Cream melts into my skin fast and leaves it very soft with absolutely no hint of greasiness; a first for me! I do have one big concern though: This has no SPF in it which means I must use a foundation with one or be extra careful.

Treatments (Eye) -Neutrogena - Ageless Restoratives Instant Eye Reviver
tiniree 5/12/2010 1:12:00 AM
Love the roller ball applicator. Easy to apply all around the eye. First impression upon application of product is that it had a cooling effect which I liked. Noticed a decrease in puffiness within 10 minutes of first application. Did not sting or make my eyes water which is my biggest problem with eye products. After one week of use: Still happy with product. Leaves skin around eye moisturized but NOT oily. Still works well to decrease puffiness. Have noticed slight decrease in dark circles and upper lid seems to have a more lifted appearance. Noticed this morning that after applying my foundation, the skin around my eyes didn't look like it needed a concealer! Will continue use until tube is done and report back.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
tiniree 8/29/2007 3:33:00 PM
Entering my 40's, I started breaking out with both regular "zits" but also cystic pimples (chin area). The cystic pimples left very red areas and took forever to heal, while never going away completely. I had read about this mask a few months ago and have used it on/off since. I can say without reservation that this works well! I use it all over my face and just under my jawline. The cystic pimple areas are no longer red and the nodules left by the larger ones (at the jawline) have decreased immensely. This mask is very inexpensive and best of all, you usually have the ingredients on hand at the house. The mask leaves my skin very soft and ready to receive my Regenerist products. Wish I had known about this mask when I was in my late teens/early 20's! PS: I use 8 crushed up aspirin and just enough water to make a paste. I put it on my face and let sit for about 10 minutes. I then moisten my hands and rub gently in small circles all over (avoiding the eye/lip area). I then rinse my face with cool water and dry. WONDERFUL!!!!

Skincare - Face -Ponds - Purely Polished Micro-Dermabrasion Anti-Aging Kit
tiniree 10/19/2006 11:50:00 AM
After reading all the great reviews, I wanted to like this product. We all like to save money, and this is definately less expensive than the Olay Micro-derm kit. But, this stuff has made my skin look its absolute worst! I have used this product three times, giving it three days inbetween uses. Today I sit here with more break-outs than I had as a teenager! I have not used any new makeup, cleansers or tried any new foods that I could easliy attribute this reaction. I will go back to using the Olay kit.

Scrubs -Olay - Regenerist Microdermabrasion and Peel Kit
tiniree 11/2/2005 12:32:00 PM
**This review was originally posted a while ago in another section** LOVE THIS PRODUCT! TBH I have never had a professional "peel", but this product did what is was supposed to do: smooth, soft, moisturized skin. The only problem I have with the "kit" is the amount of activator lotion that comes with it. They make a point of saying to "apply a thick layer over crystals", then go on to say you can add more activator lotion to further dissolve the crystals. This works great, except I can see me running out of the activator lotion long before the crystals. UPDATE: Just noticed this morning that an old dark scar from a "major" pimple on my jawline is almost completely faded! I can only know the Regenerist products have done this!

Scrubs -Olay - Regenerist Thermal Skin Polisher
tiniree 11/2/2005 12:27:00 PM
Bought this product after I started using the entire Regenerist line. Things I love about this product: Very lightly scented, just the perfect amount of "beads", The heating of the product is just perfect (not too hot/cool). I have been using this product 3 times a week now for about a month and LOVE IT! My skin is smoother, and unlike some other "thermal" products I've tried, this one leaves my face nicely moisturized and ready for the other products. TIP: Someone mentioned that even though on the tube it says to add a little more water to extend the "heat" effect, this didn't work for them. Last night I tried something new. On the initial application, I gently worked product into my skin until it almost felt dry. THEN I wet my hands again, and started to rework the product in. This immediately rejouvinated the "heat".

Cleansers -Olay - Regenerist Daily Regenerating Cleanser
tiniree 10/31/2005 2:09:00 PM
I really love this cleansing product. It has a very light scent and light-medium amount of "scrubbies" in the lotion base. I don't feel like I'm tearing my skin as I have with other scrubs. This product leaves my skin feeling very clean and soft, as well as lightly moisturized.
