Polishes -OPI - Off with her red!
tigrushka 9/11/2011 4:33:00 AM
I love my red cremes and warm muted reds suit my skintone best (Bullish on OPI is another favourite) so how could I not love this nail polish? It's a lovely shade, tomato and cayenne pepper come to mind, and it has a nice vintage vibe. A never-fail red I will never get tired of.

Polishes -OPI - Midnight in Moscow
tigrushka 8/4/2011 2:47:00 AM
There were many great shades in OPI's Russian Collection in 2007 and Midnight in Moscow is one of my favourites. It's a soft black with a brownish red shimmer ("charcoal with maroon" says the official OPI description). It's a warm "almost black" shade that flatters my skin tone no matter if I'm pale or lightly tanned and though it's a winter shade it looks just as great in summer, the red glimmer shows best in bright sunlight!

Polishes -OPI - Bullish on opi
tigrushka 12/30/2010 5:27:00 AM
Bullish on OPI has become my favourite red nail polish! Though I have and love some other great bright reds (like Vodka & Caviar for example), Bullish on OPI is the most flattering one for my skin. This shade was part of the Spanish collection (winter 09) but I hope it came to stay. The shade of red is slightly muted, very warm and soft and has a vintage feel. It looks great year round, no matter if my skin is winter pale or has a light summer tan. As for the quality of the polish, it's easy to apply, dries quite quickly and lasts about a week. My favourite lippies to wear with this one are Guerlain Rouge Gipsy and YSL Rouge Opium.

Lipstick -MAC - Russian Red
tigrushka 12/22/2010 11:22:00 AM
My second MAC lipstick (my first was Viva Glam Cyndi) and my first with matte finish. I've read raves about it and was curious to try it. I would have loved to try Lady Danger, too, but for some mysterious reason it's not available in Finland. So I tried Russian Red, Ruby Woo (which was so matte it looked more like powder than lipstick), So Chaud (which was more orange than red) and Chili (which was more brown than red). Russian Red won hands down. I love the shade: pure unapologetic red, and the finish: matte but definitely creamy, not powdery. Staying power is excellent and what's best it doesn't leave stains on the rims of glasses or teacups. The only minus is that it's slightly drying, but that can be fixed with any good lip balm. The bonus is that it's a great combo with OPI Vodka & Caviar nail polish!

Eye Shadow -Unlisted Brand - Brite Bird Sminkan trio
tigrushka 5/13/2010 3:19:00 AM
Sminkan is a trio eye shadow inspired by a brown tabby cat. In the middle there's a stripe of satin black surrounded by a stripe of taupe and old gold. The black and taupe shades are both soft and matte, the gold has a slightly greenish metallic shine. The gold is a bit too dramatic and glamorous for casual daywear, but I use the black and taupe a lot (most often with a Brite Bird pigment called Bear With Me). Very good quality and excellent value for money.

Eye Shadow -Unlisted Brand - Brite Bird Vintage pigment
tigrushka 4/9/2010 11:10:00 AM
Some make up bloggers kept mentioning Brite Bird pigments and eyeshadows and since their comments were very positive and the swatch pictures looked more than promising, I took the plunge and ordered some of these self-made pigments. Vintage is a great mixture of olive and old gold, a perfect shade for my eyes. The pigments come in cute little jars with sieves on top to stop spilling. The formula is fab, not at all messy as this type of loose eyeshadow powder can sometimes be. I was specially impressed how the pigment didn't run into wrinkles when I was testing it without primer!

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam Cyndi [DISCONTINUED]
tigrushka 4/9/2010 10:52:00 AM
This is simply a perfect everyday lippie. A nice and soft shade (quite close to my natural lip colour) that reminds me of flushed cheeks, light as a feather formula, comfy and easy to wear. Almost like wearing a lip balm but with more oomph. Will definitely keep carrying this one in my purse at all times as long as it lasts!

Fragrances -Les Parfums de Rosine - Rose Praline
tigrushka 1/25/2010 4:53:00 AM
Rose Praline is a very nice mild-mannered Gourmand Floral. The cocoa note has a lovely "roasted" quality and reminds me of another favourite: Annick Goutal Eau de Charlotte. Cardamom note usually spells trouble for me but here it's nice and quiet and reminiscent of sweet cardamom buns. The Lapsang Souchong note is gentle, too: I can only smell some soft smokiness. A cosy and comfortable scent to wear.

Fragrances -Les Parfums de Rosine - Rose d'Amour
tigrushka 1/22/2010 10:00:00 AM
Rose d'Amour was my third Rosine and along with Un Zest de Rose one of my summer favourites. I wear it winter, too, and whenever I long for a summery breeze... I'm usually not a big fan of aldehydes but sometimes they work wonders like in here (and in La Myrrhe) giving "wings" to the scent. Rose d'Amour starts with one of my favourite top notes: galbanum, and stays green until the end, to the lovely vetiver drydown. The ginger top note is a nice touch, too.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Ganache for Lips
tigrushka 1/21/2006 3:28:00 PM
Ganache for Lips lip balms are simply beyond compare! Wonderful stuff: they are made out of natural ingredients, they smell delicious and keep lips soft and kissy. The only drawback is that I keep pouting to smell my lips! :D I have all the chocolatey ones and love them madly.

Fragrances -Annick Goutal - Rose Absolue
tigrushka 4/16/2005 7:06:00 AM
I'm not much of a rose person and prefer my rose scents "with a twist" so I would never have expected to fall for Rose Absolue, which is a rose soliflore, bouquet of six different types of roses, but I did! It starts off smelling a bit like florist's shop but then softens into velvety rose petals and the soft, tender scent lingers well into the next day. This is a Sleeping Beauty of a scent.

Fragrances -Comme des Garcons - Sweet Series- Nomad Tea
tigrushka 3/4/2005 6:09:00 AM
Nomad Tea is a bit like a minty-sugary version of Gobin Daudé Biche dans l'Absinthe (which I love!) with its artemisia and smoky wood notes.

Fragrances -Comme des Garcons - Sweet Series- Spicy Cocoa
tigrushka 3/4/2005 6:08:00 AM
Citrus, spices and cocoa: bergamot, grapefruit, cardamom, fennel, coriander, black pepper, chili, black chocolate and absolute cocoa. Very nice indeed but a bit slow to develop and on the quiet side, more dark than sweet.

Fragrances -Comme des Garcons - Sweet Series- Wood Coffee
tigrushka 3/4/2005 6:05:00 AM
I knew I would love Wood Coffee and I did, too! Rich and warm scent, somewhat "rough" and "solid": woods & patchouli spiced up with coffee & liquorice, cardamom & vanilla. Yumsters!

Fragrances -Comme des Garcons - Sweet Series- Burnt Sugar

I love this one! It's like hot spicy honey milk, very comforting and cuddly. Wearing it feels like wearing a soft, fluffy angora jumper. A great scent to wrap oneself up into.
