Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Highlighting Brush

Oh hell no. This thing sheds like crazy. At first I didnt notice but my s/o would tell me I have a hair on my face and it was everytime I used this brush. Then I started to nice it leaving more hairs on my face and left me trying to swipe them off only adding more on y face,so then I was left picking them off after I took time to apply my makeup. What a pain. I can't use this brush for ANYTHING since it sheds no matter what on me. No thanks! and oh yeah I purchased this due to most of her brushes being fairly reviewed on here. This was my first experiance with any Sonia brushes and the experiance was so awful it leaves my sceptical to try any others.

Eye Shadow -TheBalm - Shady Lady Eyeshadow Palette
rated 4 of 5

It's kind of annoying that these reviews are supposed to be for TheBalm Shady Lady Vol 1 and people are leaving reviews for Vol 2 and 3 here. They are all reviewed separately on here and would be less confusing for people reading reviews if the reviews were placed were they belong. But anyway..Vol 1 of the Shady Lady eyeshadow palette is THE BOMB! This is an excellent palette. I find most of the colors are pigmented, blendable and versatile. All the colors, although not neutrals, are very useable. They are not very bright so even though they are not neutrals they are very easy to wear for everyday looks which says alot coming from me since I mainly wear neutrals or a dark smokey eye. I was very excited when I got this and used all of the shades. But over time I went back to my neutral ways and I mainly use the shades in the top row all together more then anything and I really like them. The palette contains 9 colors--6 eye shadows and 3 shadow/liners. All shadows in the palette can be used wet or dry I also absolutely love the packaging. The fact that they've wasted no space on awkward, useless applicators that would just go into the trash is also a plus. I like the cardboard magnetic compact with a large mirror. The packaging is very thin but to wide and awkward to take with you. But I like that on my dresser it doesn't take up alot of space. And because good ingredients are always a plus in my book, I've got to mention the fact that it earned Sephora's "Natural Seal" which is great for people with sensitive eyes and contact wearers. Shameless Shana (tahitian bronze)- is a nice wearable bronze that I reach for most often in this palette and Easy Wheezie (gunmetal gray shimmer) -on me it's a shimmery light blue,is my least favorite. I would love to see a dark neutral palette and a smokey palette from them. I look forward to trying more from TheBalm!! I purchased this at T.J Max for $12.99. If you see these at Marshalls or T.J. Maxx buy them all! Keep some for yourself and sell the rest on ebay since this palette Shady Ladyvol 1 is no longer available on Sephora and vol.1 is harder to find,so it is more in demand on eBay. Actually they are all in demand on ebay btw.

Lipstick -MAC - Cremesheen Creme Cup
rated 3 of 5
tightkitty 3/3/2012 5:59:00 PM

I got this since I love Shy Girl and when I swatched this next to it,it looked like a pinky version of shy girl (shy girl's pink cousin lol) and I thought oh yay! The finish even somehow looked the same. I liked how it looked and purchased it.This gives a plain pale pink color on my nc42 skin for reference. It's just a tad too light for my taste though. It didnt look awful but it didnt look that great that I would grab for it often. I love the shade when I swatch it and see it,it looks just OK on me and is slightly to pale on my lips and tone. It's pretty pigmented though. It's just a tad bit to pale on me I have found and I don't have the time to keep trying glosses to tweak it and make it work. I returned this. I love the shade though it's pretty.

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam Nicki

I'm nc 42 and I look retarded with this on. I can't expect anyone to take me seriously wearing this. It's just so so SHOCKING to me. I have not seen one single person that this looks good on, every time I see someone wearing this I secretly LOL inside like oh gawd. The pics on here look horrendous also I'm sorry. This looked just plain trashy and tacky. Maybe this would be good for a bar or club. This would need toned down and tweaked to much for me and at that point. Even thought I highly doubt I will ever grab for this, I won't return so the 14.50 donation can go to the MAC AIDS fund. This is not wearbale for me but I'm not one for super bright lipstick. It least it goes to a good cause but I prefer other viva glams over this one. It just comes off tacky and trampy. I have also seen young females wearing baby phat wearing viva glam nikki pushing strollers at the mall and also a crossdresser that works at MAC wearing this FYI

Concealers -MAC - Studio Finish Concealer
rated 1 of 5
tightkitty 3/2/2012 9:00:00 PM

I was advised to try this product since this concealer is supposed to have the best coverage for under eye circles. Basically when applied lightly my circles are still completely there (even after finding the best shade)and when applied with enough coverage to actually conceal them then it's dry and cakey and every little line is exaggerated and emphasized even after blending it out with the mac brush. I ended going with the Mac pro longwear it does have a lighter coverage but it's completely buildable which equals more coverage and easily applied even without a brush. I would highly recommend that over this.

Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - Megalast in "Private Viewing" #204A
rated 4 of 5

This is fairest nude for nails!! I love this shade it's a very nice nude shade that is somewhat sheer but buildable. I used 4 coats on my toes. It's non-streaky,applies well, cheap, and pretty. This is a nice nude on my nc40 skin tone and it goes with anything. I have used about 4 other wet n wild shades and this one is the only one that I would purchase again. I have the formula in the new bottle.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum Express The Falsies Flared
rated 2 of 5
tightkitty 2/28/2012 9:03:00 AM

The falsies flared builds volume very quickly. It does seem to lengthen very slightly, but for me, there's much more emphasis on volume. With continuous strokes of the brush, the volume builds very quickly. You really only need a few sweeps and you'll be done - otherwise you'll risk your lashes clumping together. It is definitely a clumpy mascara. My lashes did dry pretty quickly and it's very difficult to comb through your lashes with a lash comb, unless the mascara is still wet. But I did like the end result. I really did get a decent amount of volume with slight curl and it looked very pretty. Lastly, this mascara ended up flaking on me if I have used a lash comb and without. The small flakes that fell under my eyes without notice then smudged. I did not notice until I wash washing my hands in the mall bathroom and looked in the mirror I was like wtf since my mu was applied before leaving to go to the mall. So for me this starting flaking rather quickly. I tried it a few more times and the same thing happend so I gave up due to flaking and making this darker under my eyes. I also had slight ichy eyes the few times I tried this I think from the flaking irritating my eyes and contacts,I'm guessing. I overall loved the way this mascara made my lashes look but I will not re-purchase due to all the flaking issues. I just can't try it again and do that to myself, I won't.

Fragrances -BCBG Fragrance - Max Azria
rated 3 of 5
tightkitty 2/24/2012 1:39:00 PM

A soft floral fragrance. Notes include strawberry, black cherry, kir royale, jasmine, lily-of-the-valley, rose, violet, musk, orris and sandalwood. It’s innocuous enough, if not particularly original, and the same goes for the bottle, which is yet another variation on Marc Jacobs Lola. Its a nice fragrance .... but it is somewhat short lived. Would be a nice fragrance for the young or young at heart that love sweet & fruity perfumes and body sprays..As for my self I will finish my sample with enjoyment but most likely not purchase .

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon #252B Nutty
rated 1 of 5
tightkitty 2/24/2012 1:17:00 PM

I HAD to try this since I kept hearing all of the hype and since I really enjoy some wnw shadows I had to give it a try. Trying to remove the sticker and open the package took some time. I had to ask s/o to open it for me. After he also struggled as well and looked a little embarrassed I was excited to give it a try. Anyway, this doesn't show up well on me and when I blend it out, it disappears! Nothing is barely there just a slight cool toned frosty silver which I am not a fan of by the way(looks completely juvenile). I can not see any taupe in this at all. I am NC40-42 so if you are anywhere near my shade, don't get this. This shadow is wimpy compared to some of their others. I really don't know what everyone is talking about the quality isn't any where near as good as brule and some of the shades I really enjoy in my vanity palette. This isn't some rare drugstore find like everyone made this out to be. Bad on my skin tone and barely pigmented. This was super cheap but I'm still giving it it only 1 lippie since I will never use this.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Blush Brush
rated 2 of 5
tightkitty 2/24/2012 11:20:00 AM

Pro's-This brush is very soft... hasn't shed during washes... stays soft after washes..inexpensive.. small enough to contour Con's-Way to small for blush brush...I don't care much for the shape.. Its ok for contouring if you take/have the time. But honestly I never reach for it esp if I'm in a hurry since contouring with this can come off well a little streaky. I wouldn't buy it again and wouldn't recommend it

Styling Products -Got 2 Be - Guardian Angel Heat Protect N' Flatten Flat Iron Balm and Gloss Finish
rated 5 of 5
tightkitty 2/24/2012 11:03:00 AM

8-10 INCHES AWAY PEOPLE!! I'm pleasantly surprised, I really like this! The bottle looks tacky but don't let that scare you. This is cheap but don't let that scare you. I never go without heat protectants on my frizzy bi-racial hair. I've used many different heat protections Chi(to sticky for me)and Tressamme Heat tamer(behaved to much like water on my hair and actually made it poofy). I actually became turned off from spray heat protectants and thought serums (paul mitchell skinny, moroccan oil ect were the only option. I didn't use this for blow drying since this is a flat iron balm. I used a small amount of serum and blow dried as usual and then before I began to flat iron each section I shook the bottle and sprayed (8-10 inches away like advised on the bottle) but I concentrated more on my ends (again 8-10 inches away). The flat iron guardian spray is meant to go on dry hair, one section at a time. I sprayed almost a foot away sometimes and wondered if I would be able to notice any difference but after I flat ironed I noticed my hair was more silky then usual. This really helped with my ends that get a little dry and made my hair look more polished then usual and better overall. It protected my hair, didn't leave any gross residue, and it was the only spray protectant that I've found that didn't make my hair look frizzy .For me this product does work from heat damage, the bottle sprays the product as a mist and it goes on evenly, I don't have to use tons, and it makes my hair soft and frizz-free.* I think spraying from a distance really made a difference I think some people spray to close (saturating the hair) and also used this flat iron balm on wet hair before blow drying, and that's why they had a bad experience with this product. I used this before and only sprayed only a few inches away (not following directions, like I think alot of people are doing)and didn't have such a positive experience. Flat iron balm-use on dry hair before flat ironing 8-10 inches away. I think if people used this product correctly that it would have a higher rating. The scent is strong when you are spraying but it wont be to much scent on your hair if you spray it 8-10 inches away.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Jojoba Oil
rated 5 of 5
tightkitty 2/21/2012 4:48:00 PM

This is for 100% pure Jojoba Oil in general, not this specific brand.Jojoba Oil is known for the closest oil to our own oil.The skin around the eyes is very sensitive and you need to be very careful while removing eye makeup. Too much scrubbing with the cotton or applying too much pressure can cause more wrinkles around the eyes. Soak a cotton pad or ball in Jojoba oil and just gently brush it over your eyes. This will help you to get rid of the eye makeup with ease. The eyelashes will also remain conditioned as well. Pure Jojoba Oil can be used to assist in fighting wrinkles and extra dry and old skin as well as skin plagued with many other ailments or problems. It assists in minimizing lines and wrinkles and will actually help rejuvenating the skin and new cell growth as well sorting out problem skin, without clogging the skin with greasy mess. It is suspected that jojoba oil "tricks" the skin into stopping the production of sebum through somehow mimicking sebum. This also means that jojoba oil will assist in breaking down sebum in plugged-up pores. Sebum and jojoba oil will mix readily without sealing off the skin pores. Dermatologists have also reported jojoba oil's non-irritating use for acne. Other materials such as mineral oil can cause anaerobic microbial growth and inflammation redness and swelling in and around pores. Jojoba oil will not cause blackheads that contribute to acne.Since it can penetrate our skin so well, it also helps unclog clogged pores. Oil mixes with oil, jojoba oil mixes with oil in our pores and can help loosen all the dead skin and gunk so it can be washed out easier. I use this as my daily moisturizer. I use this as my night moisturizer As a hair product: This makes my shiny, straight black hair even shinier and straighter. Just a few drops smoothed onto my hair gets rid of any frizzies, hair that's sticking up, etc. It makes my hair look so much healthier. Also great for cuticles too. There are so many benefits of this oil.

Polishes -OPI - Passion
rated 2 of 5
tightkitty 2/17/2012 1:58:00 PM

Lovely glossy finish, but way too sheer! After four coats, it basically looked to sheer and can still see the tips under my nails if I get the slightest thing under them. The color is slightly to pale and all the coats in the world can't make this opaque. Looks like a shiny version of my nails but not worth all the effort and coats. This would be fine for a french manicure but I would never make the mistake of getting this for an all over color on my nails again. The swatch on the nail at the salon had more pigment and did not match the finished result.

Lipstick -MAC - Cremesheen - Shy Girl
rated 5 of 5
tightkitty 2/13/2012 12:07:00 PM

While I found the color quite nice, it's not what I'm looking for. Shy girl is more coral than pink and I'm really looking for a light, natural, subtle, pink nude. I'm NC 40-42ish skin with black hair and pigmented lips, this shows up as a light peachy coral on my lips. I love the color it gives the girls on the pics but I can't seem to get that color. I was blah about this but I now give this a 4 since I really like this with Bonnie Bell Caramel Latte over top and now I love it! I never liked that alone so now I have use for it. I don't find this drying for me at all I find it nice and creamy and has decent lasting power. I wouldnt but again since I like to try new things but you never now I might come back to this UPDATE I love this shade such. It's a peachy nude which makes it so much more fun then a basic nude. I was looking for a boring nude but I'm glad I found this. I lost it somewhere in the house and if I don't find it buy next week I'm going to get another one. I think I should get another one if I find it or not since I love it that much!! My rating 4 goes to 5!!!!

Lips -Revlon - ColorBurst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait
rated 1 of 5
tightkitty 2/8/2012 1:36:00 PM

Ultimately this shade is a fail. The problem is the glitter- this shade has what I would describe as medium to large chunks of glitter all throughout it. I did not get any pigment that showed up on my lips just the large chunks of shimmer or glitter that later ended up on other parts of my face somehow.
