Polishes -OPI - I Have a Herring Problem

Love this colour, very unique. In dim light just looks like a blue grey creme, but in sunlight or regular light has very pretty subtle flecks of glitter. I layered Butter London No More Waity Katie (chunky lavender with silver and pink glitter) over it, which looked great. Also tried Nicole Such a Go-Glitter over top (a very fine cobalt and silver glitter in a clear base) and that rocked too. But my favourite combo is 2 coats of IHaHP with a coat of Essie matte about you topcoat overtop. Makes the colour look very industrial and 2 shades lighter, but glitter flecks still show through. Very versatile!

Eyeliner -MAC - Eye Kohl - Resort

Very bummed about the lack of staying power of this product. It is a gorgeous dusty magenta purple, which looked WICKED on my green eyes when I applied it. Unfortunately, within an hour I could barely detect the product at all even though I had applied a primer first. I even went and bought MAC Vibrant Grape eyeshadow to wear over top, but it changed the color a bit too much and pushed it into "bruisy" instead of "pretty". Returned both the liner and the shadow. Still hunting for this unique eyeliner color. I don't get why MAC still makes kohl liners, when their powerpoint and pearlglide formulas are so superior to this.

Top/Base Coats -Butter London - Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat

My new HG basecoat. Love the way it smooths, mattes, and evens out my nails in one swipe. It is pretty alone or with a simple topcoat too (my go-to nail look when on a roadtrip so I don't worry if it chips). Has replaced Orly Bonder as my basecoat, because it holds on to the polish like glue and I get less chipping and tip wear.

Polishes -Butter London - All Hail the Queen

I really like the formulation and color of this polish--its a glow-y, camel-y, shimmery taupy mushroom. The only thing I'm bummed about is that is almost identical to OPI for Sephora's Under my Trenchcoat, which I also own :(

Eye Shadow -MAC - Idol Eyes

I know, I know, the fallout. It bugs me a bit too, but this shadow is so pretty and unique that I overlook it. I was wanting an icy blue to bring out the blue in my eyes, but they all were too cool toned and looked goofy. This shade, which is a sheer shimmery silver with subtle gold reflects, fit the bill perfectly. I wear it over NYX milk pencil and haven't had any issues with creasing. If I want it more opaque I apply with my finger. I love this shadow despite its poor reputation.

Lipstick -MAC - Ruffian Gold

Love this LE lipstick! It is a very pretty, glisteny gold (not over the top glitter) that looks great on its own or pairs well over almost everything I have. My favourite look is to wear it over my NARS velvet matte lip pencils (Sex Machine, Pop Life, Damned) for a bit of added moisture and a pretty subtle sparkle. I have been using Mac Lipgloss in Instant Gold to try to get the effect Ruffian Gold gives, but Ruffian is better as it doesn't have a glossy finish (which I don't always want) and can be applied just to the centre of the lips (which I think looks a little goofy when you do it with gloss). Would definitely repurchase...thinking about getting a backup.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Sweet & Punchy

Great new LE shadow from MAC. I was a little nervous about it first, so I just used it to line my lower lashline. Cool! So then I thought I'd wash it lightly over my lid. Cooler! I've now graduated to wearing it all over the lid in an opaque manner and really like it. I usually can't pull off limes with my aqua eyes but this works. If you put it on over Groundwork paint pot it looks a lot like Old Gold pigment. Love!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Resort Life Lipgelee

Love this lipgelee, and I'm not a big gloss girl. The MUA at MAC did my eyes with the All Ages, All Races collection (Banshee and All Ages eyeshadow, blonde brows) and then this on my lips. I like it because it is glimmery without being chalky--nice and translucent. It's gorgeous over MAC Plum lipliner as well.

Highlighters -NARS - Orgasm Illuminator

Really wanted to like this, but it just didn't show up on my NW15 skin. It looked great coming out of the tube, love the packaging...but not pigmented enough. I don't like Benefit High Beam (too fakey/white) but I have a MAC LE illuminator called Pink Rebel that I like a lot. Returned this to Sephora. :(

Eyeliner -MAC - Full of Fuschia

I too bought this one because it is LE, and wanted it to make my aqua eyes pop. It does, but it's a bit lighter than I had hoped. So, I wear a fairly thick line of it, upper lid only, with Sushi Flower eyeshadow applied overtop with an eyeliner brush. Lasts all day and looks great!

Polishes -Sephora - Sephora by OPI - Underwater Fantasy

I looooove this polish, for the same reason the previous reviewer didn't like it. The one-coat version is a pretty, sheer iridescent wash, and the three-coat version is identical to the colour you see in the bottle. So, for my money, it's like 2 polishes for the price of one. Gotta like that! Also, in the 1-2 coat range, it's a pretty steely kind of blue. Not too OTT. With the 3rd coat it gets to a more vibrant blue. Would definitely repurchase. That is, if I ever used up a whole bottle of polish. Haven't ever yet!
