Cleansers -Aveeno - Positively Radiant Cleanser
thunderwoman 2/6/2009 7:55:00 PM
This is my day to day always go back to cleanser. I've tried a good number of others, some with luck, others not. I always come back to this. It has a thick consistency. The color is quite lovely and luminescent. It lightly foams and rinses clean. My skin is soft and clean but not dry or tight afterwards. I wear a mineral based powder makeup with some blush and sometimes mascara. This cleanser easily washes everything off. I will continue buying this indefinitely.

Moisturizers -Weleda - Skin Food
thunderwoman 10/1/2008 9:51:00 AM
My skin is really sensitive. I tend to break out easily and unexpectedly with new products. When something works for me, I stick with it. Skin food has worked for me. My tube has lasted over 6 months and I'm going to be repurchasing this week. The ingredients are simple and apparently work not to clog my pores. I don't question why anymore! Just go with it. And the smell is yumminess! The price is around 12$ for a 2.5 oz tube. The ingredients are: Water (Agua), Lanolin, Peanut Oil (Arachis Hypogaea), Sweet Almond Oil (Prunus Dulcis), Alcohol, Beeswax, Glyceryl Linoleate, Fragrance (Natural Essential Oils), Hydrolyzed Beeswax, Pansy Extract (Viola Tricolor), Matricaria Extract (Chamomilla Recutita), Calendula Extract (Calendula Officinalis), Cholesterol

Treatments -Bare Escentuals - Rare Minerals
thunderwoman 2/9/2008 8:27:00 AM
I'm reviewing this product and will update weekly. I've been using for one week so far and my scores reflect how I feel about it now. I like the application method. Puff feels great on my skin. Very soft. I'm not concerned with cleanliness of the puff as I'm applying it to my clean skin. I'm using this product as instructed, with nothing underneath and nothing over. So far, I've noticed my skin feels more balanced. I'm not getting as oily during the day. My mineral makeup has better staying power which is great because the mineral veil DOES NOT work out for me at all. I also noticed that the larger pores around my nose look a lot smaller. My skin feels so far quite a bit smoother, tighter and softer. I have not had a breakout since starting and marks from last months blemishes are fading. This could simply be due to time so I don't want to attribute that to this product just yet. So far, I'm liking very much.

I mix this powder in with my facial moisturizer and apply mineral foundation over. I also mix this powder in with my mineral foundation and apply as normal. I use this as eyeshadow as well. I'd repurchase.

Moisturizers -Logona - Rose Day Cream
thunderwoman 5/3/2006 12:24:00 PM
I've got sensitive, dry skin prone to dermatological problems such as peri oral dermatitis. I've had good luck with very few products. I bought this product on a whim at my local health food store. The tube is 1.7 oz and it cost $15.00. I've used this cream for 2 weeks going on 3 weeks. I've not had a single breakout in that time. My skin texture is very soft and smooth and the tone seems more even. Redness from around my nose and eyes is virtually gone. My skin feels silky and hydrated but not the least bit greasy. My skin actually seems to glow and is noticably firmer. I believe this is my holy grail facial moisturizer. I'm praying they never stop making it!! The smell is a beautiful but not overwhelming rose/floral smell. The formula sinks right in and it PERFECT under mineral powder makeup. I'm going to purchase additional products from this company and see if I love them as much as this cream. Considering the price you can pay for crappy products, this is a diamond in the rough. I'd recommend it to everyone with normal skin tending toward dry.

Moisturizers -Kiss My Face - Under Age
thunderwoman 3/17/2006 10:08:00 AM
I am turning 30 in a couple months. I've gone through a skin transition this year. My oily-ish skin has become drier and the winter has only exaggerated the dryness. I also have skin subject to sensitive issues. I have a condition called peri-oral dermatitis that can flare up with use of a product my skin rejects. I've found Avalon Organics lavender cream works excellent but wasn't moisturizing enough. I bought this Kiss My Face Under Age cream for extra moisture. The packing is certainly appealing. The bright, lime green tube is a sight! The tube is only a 1oz tube. for around 14$. I think this is a bit expensive, however, the lotion really works well. I've paid more for far worse products. The smell of the lotion is a bit on the flowery side but it's very fresh smelling, not at all cloying. The smell does dissipate after a bit of time. It's like aroma therapy for your face. It's a beautiful smell. The consistency is very nice. Silky and light. It feels very nourishing on your face. I've even got it in my eyes with no stinging at all. I find that if you apply the lotion to skin that is still damp from toner, you need less and it spreads better. This would be key to getting more bang for your buck. I'm thinking maybe a moisturizing toning lotion would work well prior to the application of this lotion. Maybe something Hauschka or DHC. This product is fully absorbed by my skin. There is NO residue yet my face feels perfectly moisturized. I do need additional eye cream but I suppose that's to be expected. My skin has really responded well to this lotion. I've been using it for 2 weeks and not a single blemish to mention. The tone and texture have really benefited from this lotion. If my skin responds adversely to a product, I do break out. Not the case with this lotion. My skin is very, very soft and smooth. I will continue to purchase this lotion. This product is a keeper. UPDATE: Well, I've since seen 30 come and 32 is rapidly approaching since I first tried this lotion. I've gone back and forth from this to a myriad of others. I've come back to Underage. It just works. It balances my skin, it moisturizes wonderfully. It makes my skin soft and smooth. It doesn't clog my pore and it works wonderful under my mineral makeup. Bonus, I love the fresh, floral fragrance.

Powder -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Loose Powder
thunderwoman 3/12/2006 8:49:00 PM
***2nd Update *** Still loving this foundation. It's summer now and it gets hot and humid. This foundation stays put and doesn't itch like a lot of mineral foundations do. I love the versatility of this formula and have hardly seemed to have made a dent in the amount I've used. I think this is going to last forever!! **UPDATE** Still loving this foundation over a month later. I seem to have hardly put a dent in the amount of powder in the container. The versitality of the color I purchased seems to work with my skin after some sun exposure. I don't aim to tan, I just spend a lot of time outdoors and color up even through sunscreen. Creamy natural is a very good color and this is a very good foundation. I bought this after reading all the good reviews. I've tried BE with no luck. It felt heavy on my face and it made me itch when I got warm. I also tried Neutrogena sheer minerals. The color was too orange and the blend-ability was poor. I am love, love, loving this foundation. It evens my skin tone out perfectly. My skin is a tad on the dry side and this seems to help my moisturizer stay put. I have a neutral light-ish complexion and I bough the color Creamy Natural. It blends perfectly. The brush is excellent and I love that it's all neat and organized. I bought the little tiny yellow tube of corrector with the beige tiny concealor for undereyes. It works great. Barring any unseen disasters, I'll continue to repurchase.

Blush -NARS - Exhibit A
thunderwoman 1/24/2006 3:50:00 PM
I saw this online at sephora and thought how unusual the color looked. It's shocking orange/red. I have been looking for a bright red blush to look natural and fresh. Brisk winter walk, morning jog, dinner with friends (and wine!) kind of flushed look. This blush seems to fit the bill. The packaging is very nice. It is a very solid, slipproof compact. Easy to hold and not likely to slide off your vanity. The powder is very finely milled and very, very pigmented. It has an almost creamy feel. I love that it doesn't powder all over the place when you use it. I believe a high quality natural brush is essential to the proper application of this product. I assume a light hand is the key to a natural application. The blush goes on very smooth and blends effortlessly. Buildable coverage. I'm a few months shy of 30, medium/fair complexion neutral tone, I've got medium blond hair and aqua blue eyes. This blush really pops blue eyes. The staying power is also very good. I'd recommend this blush.

Moisturizers -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Lavender Daily Moisturizer
thunderwoman 12/17/2005 11:57:00 PM
I have very sensitive skin. I've had problems finding any cream that doesn't give me a rash or acne. This cream is tops. I love everything about it. It has a nice consistency, the smell is great too. It feels so refreshing and soothing putting it on after cleansing. It sinks right in, no greasiness at all. Perfect under makeup. It seems to have helped balance my skins oils. I have a more even skin tone, texture, firmness and my natural oils are balanced. I really love this cream.

Conditioner -DHC - Head Conditioner
thunderwoman 3/30/2005 11:36:00 PM
This conditioner is 17$ for 6.7 ounces. It is pricey but you really don't need much product. The conditioner made my very unruly hair soft and managable. It kept the frizzies at bay all day long. You can run a comb through wet hair without tangles after using this. My hair felt so soft. I really like this product.

Conditioner -Charles Worthington - Takeaways Hair Healer Leave in
thunderwoman 11/18/2004 7:58:00 PM
I've used this twice and I love, love love it. It is a leave in conditioner in a pump bottle. The consistancy is very nice and distributes well through damp hair. This conditioner really makes my color damaged hair very soft and silky and shiny. The smell is a bit overwhelming, that is the only negative but it works so well, it is something I'll overlook.

Concealers -Jane - No Show oil-free concealer
thunderwoman 7/1/2004 3:19:00 PM
Love this concealer. I'm on my second tube. The packaging is great. It's a small tube with a narrow opening. The product stays moist, doesn't dry out or get dirty like a stick. The color range is limited. The formula covers very nicely and blends great. I tried fair first. It was a good but not great match for my pale pink complexion. It was a good shade but too yellow. My second tube is light. This is a perfect match. I'll continue to repurchase.

This conditioner works great for my hair. BUT...it builds up quickly. I have to use a clairifying shampoo at least twice a week. The shine and softness it delivers is excellent. It smells like redken allsoft. I'll repurchase.

Liquid -Origins - Reflection Perfection
thunderwoman 3/26/2004 10:34:00 AM
I found this foundation to be difficult to work with. You have to use your fingers and blend quickly. If you use a sponge, it cakes up so bad you might need to re-wash your face. If you happen to get the application perfect, it looks great. If you skin is perfect...if you have any spots that need concealer, you are in for a tough time. The concealer cakes up over the foundation and the color difference is highly visible. The mattifying qualities of this foundation are good but not great. I found I had to blot at least once during the day. I'd not recommend or repurchase this product.
