My god. I absolutely LOVE this lipstick. I own quite a few red-ish lipsticks such as Mac's Russian Red, Ruby Woo, and Chili (though this one definitely leans more orange), and amongst all of them, I reach for So Chaud the most. For reference, I am Chinese with medium-tan skin with yellow undertones (NC 40/42), and this lipstick looks phenomenal on. The formula is matte, so it is a bit more drying than regular lipsticks, but with that comes the longer staying power. This stuff even lasts pretty damn well through a meal too! Granted, that's with me being careful about not getting greasy food all over my lips, but still, the lasting power on this kicks ass. I highly recommend this lipstick if you're looking to experiment with a bold new lip color, as this isn't for the faint of heart! However, if you want to try out orange like Morange, but don't know if a full-on orange lip is for you, then this is an awesome alternative. Definitely more wearable than Morange, in my opinion. This lipstick is fiyaahhh ladies!
I have tried Covergirl's Lash Exact in the regular/non-waterproof version, and it was less than spectacular for me. ...However, the waterproof version is really good! I wish I could give this a 4.5, because it's not my FAVORITE mascara ever, but I really like it. I, by no means, have super long or super voluminous eyelashes. I would probably say it's because I am of Oriental Asian descent, and Asians typically aren't gifted in the eyelash department. That being said, my eyelashes are pretty decently-lengthed and volumized for an Asian. (They don't point downward and aren't stick-straight, even though they're pretty straight) In any case, this mascara is my go-to mascara for everything. Even for special occasions, I will usually use a mascara primer, then the Lash Exact waterproof, then another mascara of choice for extra "oomph". This mascara holds a curl INCREDIBLY. I take 3-4 hour naps in this stuff pretty often, and trust me, when I wake up, my eyelashes are still perfectly curled and there are no flakes under my eye. My eyeliner usually is smudged, but my mascara looks exactly the same from when I applied it in the morning. That was the deal-sealer for me. I have this in "Very Black" and it is a very intensely pigmented mascara, and very buildable. You could do one coat for everyday looks, or you could build on if you wanted to. It NEVER clumps (which I hate in mascaras! I have tried many higher-end brands like Lancome Definicils, Dior Extase and MUFE Smoky Lash-which is really good overal, but can get pretty clumpy), and I can honestly say I prefer using Lash Exact waterproof, just because it's a clump-free formula, holds the curl extreeeemely well, and I can get both length and volume out of it. I know it's not marketed as a volumizing mascara, but for me, it definitely helps with volume. The brush is purple and plasticky/rubbery and spiky, which some people find weird, but I really like it. It bends easily, which allows the wand to really get into the weird eyelashes on the inner and outer corner as well as the roots. The mascara is nicely packaged in a sleek purple tube with silver words with a blue marking around the tube, indicating that it's waterproof. I scored this mascara for 2 US dollars- a total steal. It is typically around 7 dollars, but is often featured in BOGO sales or with extra coupons.
Mascara -Shiseido - Majolica Majorca Lash Enamel Glamour
thiscowsgotmoo 10/6/2010 12:36:00 AM
I'm torn about this product. It's SUCH a good mascara...it truly volumizes, holds a curl SO WELL (the BEST I have encountered for holding a curl...and I mean HOLDING..and I have tried a lot of things from Dior to Almay) and when applied with care, can make you look like you're wearing false lashes. It's a nice deep black mascara, no sparkles or gray or brown undertones. HOWEVER, because it's SUCH a good mascara, it's a pain in the arse to get off. Many Japanese mascaras are notorious for their staying power...this is not an exception. It's very very very difficult to get off with American makeup remover. However, I have heard that Japanese makeup remover can take it off more easily. The brush is a bit strange, it's flat with wide teeth on one side and narrow on the other. I typically start with the narrow and then coat over with the wide. It's quite good at getting the root lashes and coating each lash. To achieve maximum results, I put a card under when I'm applying to prevent mascara from getting onto my eyelids and lift my lashes even more, and I take any random mascara spooly to comb my eyelashes out, and it looks like I'm wearing fake lashes. I have asian eyelashes. They don't point downward, but they are extremely straight, and decent in length and volume. Not anything special, but this mascara is a great volumizing and slight lengthening. I would suggest pairing it with Lash Expander if you want long & voluminous. (I have both, but I'm not sure which one I like better yet haha) The price was decent. I got it for about 13 or something like that dollars...maybe a tad bit more, because my friend went to Japan and I told her to pick it up for me. It's obviously cheaper in the homeland, but I believe online it retails for around 20-25. The packaging is super unique and classy. I have seen no other packaging like this...it's very cute, and doesn't even really feel like a mascara tube. I wouldn't say this is a day-to-day mascara just because it takes time for it to be applied NICELY and is quite dramatic and a pain to get off, (but I love this mascara so much that I don't mind that), but it is greeeeat for weekends, parties, special events...I mean heck, I wear it to school sometimes haha. It's beautiful. For me, it's HG "special event' mascara status. I'm still looking for the perfect everyday mascara that is easy to wash off, cause I get lazy on school days. And for those of you who don't know, Majolica Majorca is a branch of Shiseido mascaras, and they come out with a new mascara pretty much every year....they usually bud off of each other, and some are different from others.
Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner
thiscowsgotmoo 5/1/2010 1:03:00 AM
This is such a steal (especially when it's on sale) compared to other high-end gel eyeliners. I personally think the pigmentation is quite decent, and the little brush that comes with it is very good for applying the liner, which is surprising, because usually random generic brushes flat-out suck. I haven't tried L'oreal HiP, but I've tried Buxom Lash and Bobbi Brown's gel eyeliner. Those two are slightly better in terms of pigmentation and consistency, but this stuff is pretty much up there. :D
I LOVE THIS. It may look like a crappy random eyeliner pencil...but it's a little trickster. I have it in green, but I can't wait to get it in Aqua and Purple. It is AS GOOD AS THE UD'S 24/7 liners in terms of staying power and color intensity and texture. It's wonderful, and SO much cheaper. <333333333333 HG HG HG HG.
Blush -Physicians Formula - Organic Wear 2-in-1 Bronzer & Blush
thiscowsgotmoo 5/1/2010 12:55:00 AM
UGH, I AM SO DISAPPOINTED. I was really excited to see both this and the organic lipgloss (which I actually KINDA liked...but LOST) on super clearance for 6 dollars for the 2. This stuff. SUCKS. It smells like something died and they turned it into a face product and tried to market it as a blush/bronzer. I get that it's "organic", but just cause it's organic doesn't mean it has to smell like it's formed out of cow patties. Ew. There is NO shimmer in this at all. The blush is ew and not very pigmented. The bronzer just makes your face look awkwardly dirty. When you put it on your face, you can still smell it for a while afterwards. Don't buy this. Do not waste your money on such a failure. Too bad, the packaging is cute.
Almay needs to come out with more color choices. I'm not even that tan, and medium is still wayyy too light for me, almost with a gray undertone.... I really like the concept though! Just wish they had more color choice....
SO CUTE, I love the hot pink color and little egg-like shape. It makes my concealer and/or liquid foundation look GREATTTT. My fingers and/or brushes cannot do my face justice in comparison. However, it shrinks...but it does expand once in water. It just shrinks and also leaks pink dye after the first few uses. Packaging: VERY CUTE. It's reusable and convenient. It also doubles as its "drying stool" and you can store it in the package again and again. Get it when Sephora has a coupon or something, as it is pricey. I splurged, but still got it 15 percent off! :D GET THIS. seriously.
Liquid -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Mineral Foundation
thiscowsgotmoo 5/1/2010 12:42:00 AM
It's...pretty decent. I'm not a big foundation person, but I'll use this occasionally. The applicator makes it hard to blend, but I prefer using my beautyblender. It's a very nice coverage, but not in terms of mattifying your skin. I think it's good for the price though, as I got it on sale. .
Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner
thiscowsgotmoo 5/1/2010 12:40:00 AM
I have this in the black. It is SO PIGMENTED, veryyyy amazing for the price<3 Will be getting another one after I use this one. However, I prefer using an eyeliner brush to do my eyeliner with this. Makes my winged eyeliner look VERY good.... I'm also super picky about my eyeliner (especially liquid), as I have really obnoxious Oriental eyes. But for the price? You can't beat this stuff. Don't bother wasting your money on some 25 dollar liquid eyeliner from Sephora, get this instead.
Eye Shadow -Physicians Formula - shimmer strips Smoky Brown Eyes
thiscowsgotmoo 5/1/2010 12:36:00 AM
It's an okayly-pigmented eyeshadow palette, but the colors are VERY similar and ALL shimmery...which is sort of annoying. However, nothing UD's PP can't fix ;D
I like this mascara, but don't love. It does NOT clump, holds a curl pretty well, and lengthens too. Just not a HG mascara though :D
Mascara -Almay - One Coat Nourishing Mascara Triple Effect
thiscowsgotmoo 5/1/2010 12:33:00 AM
Pretty decent, but nothing special. It's a good everyday mascara...but not anything spectacular. Doesn't clump, pretty volumizing and lengthening. Holds a curl okay. Overall, a very good average mascara, but nothing spectacular. I would buy it again if it were very cheap!
Lip Gloss -Jordana - InColor LipShine Natural Glaze in Watermelon Punch
thiscowsgotmoo 5/1/2010 12:30:00 AM
I bought this soooo long ago....when it was 2/3 dollars.I just recently found it again in my make-up bag. This is SUCH a great lipgloss. I love the pigmentation, the smell/taste haha, the consistency...etc, etc. It smells like watermelon candy....SO YUMMY yet not at all overwhelming or too artificial. The pigmentation is a really pretty pinkish-coral. It's sheer, but it definitely adds a bit of color. The applicator makes it so simple to apply as well. It's one of those click-lipglosses. LOVE THIS LIPGLOSS! Too bad I'm pretty much OUT. Augh I need to go find me some more ;D
My only complaints are that you can't put this on when your lips are at all damp...it just awkwardly waxes over and has a really bad consistency...Sometimes it turns your lips whiter..ahhaha But other than that, I love the tingly mint feeling. It's addictive..ahhaha Plus the packaging is very unique and cute.
