Fragrances -Parfums de Coeur - Body Fantasies Vampire Midnight
thewidowpicard 1/3/2013 12:44:00 PM
I also own the original red bottle version of this and loved it. So, naturally, I thought I'd love this too. And I do. I missed out when it was in-store at Walmart, before Christmas, as all of them are now gone, so I purchased this online instead. It was a blind purchase as I never got the chance to smell it. But I'm so glad I did buy this one. This scent is a lot lighter than the red but not so much so that it's undetectable. It's a more mature scent compared to the former. This is more of a "hippie vampire" scent with notes of very light musk (which usually I don't like, but love in this) and possibly vanilla and sandalwood? I believe there to be faint traces of dark berries, as well. The lasting-power is good too. I purchased this on sale for $10, normally $14...but I recently saw a few left over from the Christmas giftsets at Kmart for $8. Happy vampire-midnight hunting, har har.

Hair -Unlisted Brand - Profectiv MegaGrowth Daily Anti-Breakage Strengthener
thewidowpicard 12/17/2012 10:22:00 AM
Liquid gold! I've been using this one for a month now and it absolutely works! It has all the hair oils you could want, put into one bottle; soy, olive, wheat germ, coconut, jojoba, grape seed, avocado, vitamins B2-D-A-E-K, flax seed, corn and a few others as well. If you purchased all those separately that'd set you back way more money than this one bottle which cost me less than $5, I believe, at Walmart. It's an ethnic hair care product and those usually work the best for me. I bought it sealed so I couldn't smell it beforehand and usually these types of hair products, smell-wise, are hit or miss, but this one actually smells good, maybe like cucumbers, to me. I have dry, coarse, curly, split and breakage prone, caucasian hair. I've always used deep conditioners, thermal protectors before styling, leave-ins and serums...and in the past couple of years I've cut down on heat styling a great deal BUT I still had breakage and split ends. Then I started using this product and I can't see any breakage anymore and I have to search my hair for split ends now whereas before I could just look down and see them. My hair does indeed look longer as well and in the month that I've been using it I actually used this maybe 10 or less times. My hair actually feels like normal hair now and it shines! I apply this with my usual 6 or so products before I blowdry, and it almost eliminates the need to flat iron, almost. Then I apply a little more of this and then my Tresemme heat tamer spray and I flat iron...it just works wonders, perfectly straight, shiny, soft hair. If I don't feel like heat styling I'll air dry it with this and I'll get shiny, soft, practically frizz free curls...that is if I can refrain from touching my hair whilst it dries. I would recommend letting it sink into your hair for a couple of minutes before heat styling though, just to be safe. I will buy this one from now on.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Waterproof Voluminous Carbon Black
thewidowpicard 10/18/2012 11:42:00 AM
Garbage. This barely did anything for my lashes. It basically just made them black. Little to no volume, minimal curl. But the worst part is that it melts off on my brow-bone and under my lower lash line...and I don't even have oily skin in the slightest! Removing this at night is a nightmare...it will barely budge and I always wake up with black residue under my eyes. What sense does that make? It melts off but wont wash off? It's expensive at $7 and I've had way better for way less.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - -Hottest- Beyonce Heat Rush Dupe
thewidowpicard 10/18/2012 11:29:00 AM
This is a knockoff for Beyonce Heat Rush that can be found at Dollar General. I purchased the rollerball form which also came with a travel size lotion for just $1. The smell, I believe, is a really good match and the lasting power is pretty decent for a knockoff as well. The lotion isn't really that scented but I really only wanted the perfume anyway. I highly recommend this and you can't really go wrong for $1.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Pure Vitamin E Oil
thewidowpicard 8/28/2012 9:40:00 AM
This is one of my many many products that I will actually continue to purchase. I purchased the Dollar General Vitamin E Oil for two dollars and I couldn't be happier. I originally bought it to heal 3 menstrual zits that formed from extracting whiteheads. It did the job very well. I apply many products at night and this is the one I use last, I apply it all over my face with clean hands and sleep in it. It does not break me out and heals and evens tone, especially dark acne spots. This particular one also contains soy and coconut oil. I even started using it on my curly, coarse, dry and damaged hair and it really softens up the ends like none of my other 15 products I use daily. This stuff is definitely a miracle worker.

Toners -Neutrogena - Clear Pore Oil-Controlling Astringent
thewidowpicard 7/21/2012 1:33:00 PM
This is my 2nd bottle and I really like it. It's a little pricey, 6 dollars or so at Walmart...I'm very cheap. For reference I have normal skin, my breakouts only come if I use a dirty makeup brush or the few times I try to extract a closed blackhead, (the white bumps), and it then turns into a zit. So, the times when I do extract a black or whitehead, I use this product right after and it tends to heal it much faster than any of my other million face products and it sometimes prevents the extraction from turning into a regular zit. I feel like it evens tone as well.

Hair Color -Clairol - Radiance Colorgloss translucent deposit only color
thewidowpicard 3/12/2012 8:24:00 PM
This was my first time using this product. I purchased this in 1A Black for under $6 and the color infuser for under $4 at Sally's. I'm extremely cheap so I did not purchase gloves, mixing bowl nor brush. For reference I have extremely thick and curly hair, below shoulder-length, that is somewhat damaged with breakage and split-ends. Before coloring I had a faded medium brown color with an inch of dark blonde roots and several greys coming in. I started off with washing/shampooing my hair and then towel drying so that it was damp but not wet. I then mixed 1 oz each of the dye and color infuser in a measuring cup with my finger (don't use metal to mix dye). I then applied it to my damp hair sans gloves, which only stained around my nails for a couple days. I then covered my hair with a Walmart shopping bag (I said I was cheap) and left the dye on for a total of 20 minutes. I rinsed with cold water and used my regular conditioner afterwards. My results were a natural, rich and semi-shiny black. My roots were a half level lighter but definitely not noticeable. It definitely doesn't look like the normal box-dye black, it just looks completely natural, like I said. My hair does appear to be healthier looking as well. It also covered the few greys I had. I waited a week before I shampooed my hair again and it did not fade. That was two weeks ago and my color still looks fresh and black. Not to mention I still have dye left over for next time. I may even use half an ounce less of each since I had more than enough last time. I'll buy this product again.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Fruit of the Earth - Vitamin E Cream
thewidowpicard 2/16/2012 11:46:00 AM
I purchased a two-pack of these for under 4 dollars at Dollar General. I actually like this product. It makes my skin really soft but I think it may be the cause of a minor pimple or two. I just looked this product up on EWG.org and this product appears to be extremely unhealthy, please read. http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/product/22949/Fruit_of_the_Earth_Vitamin_E_Skin_Care_Cream/ I'll probably continue to use this though as I'm not made of money and don't want to throw it out.

Hair Color -Clairol - Natural Instincts in Malaysian Cherry
thewidowpicard 2/8/2012 4:11:00 PM
This must be one of their discontinued colors as it cannot be found anywhere except for Amazon.com. This was THE best boxed red dye that could be found. It was rich, deep, vibrant/shiny and always left hair feeling soft. Natural Instincts' other reds do not hold a candle to this one color. Cherry Creme, Raspberry Creme and Cinnaberry (the other reds) do not take to anything other than almost blonde hair and two out of three are harsh when they do. I'm a home hair-color veteran so heed my advice. Cherry Creme isn't a true red, it's a brown/auburn. Cinnaberry will tint medium brown hair with a purple and turn blonde hair crimson. Raspberry Creme seems to fall into the same category with a tamer crimson. I have used all of these more than once and over a variety of colors. Malaysian Cherry was just a stand out color that took to even dark brown hair. I don't even bother with the reds from this brand anymore. If I want red these days I have to buy Manic Panic. MAYBE if I want to try a red from Natural Instincts again I'll bleach it first...but that is just sooo bad for the hair...and that way it will be a more desirable color. (Didn't have to do that with Malaysian Cherry though...) CLAIROL, PLEASE BRING THIS COLOR TO STORES AGAIN!

Gels/Soaps -Johnson & Johnson - Baby Oil Gel in Shea and Cocoa Butter
thewidowpicard 2/8/2012 3:40:00 PM
I just bought this at Walmart for under 4 dollars. I had intended on buying Palmer's Cocoa Butter Oil for 6 dollars...but 5 minutes after trying out both on the back of my hands I couldn't even smell the Palmer's. The scents differ in that the baby oil smells more of coconuts than cocoa butter. This is very moisturizing and long lasting. It leaves a nice sheen. It takes a minute to sink in but it's not greasy afterwards. The cap is secure as well so you know it's not going to leak.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Jordache Hello Kitty dupe
thewidowpicard 2/3/2012 10:12:00 AM
I found and find Jordache perfumes at the Dollar Tree. This is a knockoff of Hello Kitty. I'm not sure which Hello Kitty though since there are a few at Sephora and there's a few others floating around. Anywhooo...To me the first note I smell in this is apricot and/or peach. After it dries down there may be some vanilla. It's a light fun scent though. The staying powers of Jordache perfumes could always be better but for a dollar I can't really complain...just douse your clothes and you should be good for awhile, haha.

Lip Treatments -Carmex - LipBalm
thewidowpicard 1/28/2012 7:08:00 PM
I actually like this stuff. It's a soft gloss to me, meaning not sticky or goopy. It moisturizes well also. It's weird but I actually use this on pimples since it contains salicylic acid and it seems to make them go down quicker with less scarring which is probably the cocoa butter and Vitamin E in it. The only con is the smell/taste.

Treatments -Ponds - Clarant B3- Normal to Dry skin
thewidowpicard 1/17/2012 3:31:00 PM
I use both this and the Rejuveness version, that I purchased at Target, in the travel sizes for $2 each. You get a decent amount with these too. I just wish the full sized versions were cheaper. This one has evened out my skins tone and texture and helps clear up those dark purple spots left by acne. EDIT This products may be unhealthy. http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/product/407189/Pond%27s_Clarant_Anti-Dark_Spots_Moisturizer%2C_Normal_to_Dry/

Moisturizers -Ponds - Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle Cream
thewidowpicard 1/17/2012 3:27:00 PM
I bought the travel size of this and the Clarant B3 version at Target, for $2 each, around a month ago. With daily use of both I've noticed 90% reduction in fine lines around my nose and mouth and 30% reduction in the deep vertical and horizontal creases under my lower lashes and eyes. *Side Note* I got the deep creases from being too rough with my under eye area and always pulling it to the side way back when I applied and wore too much eyeliner in Junior High. DO NOT DO THIS. Ha, because just a few years later it will come back to haunt you. Anyway...in using this and the Clarant B3 together it has significantly reduced those under-the-skin whiteheads (closed comedones) that I had on my forehead for over a year and evened out my skins tone and texure. I just wish the full sized versions where cheaper.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - BEYONCE HEAT
thewidowpicard 1/9/2012 4:45:00 PM
I actually like this scent. When I first tried it out I couldn't stop smelling it. To me it smells like a sophisticated fruit perfume? I seem to smell mango in it. But, I am horrible at describing scents so for that I am sorry. It lasts awhile, although, it could be cheaper in my opinion.
