Best hairspray I've ever tried. My hair is pin straight, and it will never retain curls...that is, until I used this hairspray. I curled my hair for prom, and I owe it to this hairspray for the long lasting curls. I've tried Garnier hairsprays, but none of them held curls or even volumnized hair for more than an hour or so. This hairspray really does hold for hours.

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Gatsby Moving Rubber

I'm really into Japanese fashion, so I learned about Gatsby through Japanese magazines, and I saw it while I was in Japan. I have Wild Shake, which is my personal favorite, and Air Rise. Gatsby is the best hair wax I've ever tried. It's easy to use, lasts a long time, and has a somewhat sweet scent. I have an Asian mullet, which consists of short layers on the crown of my head, and longer layers at the bottom. Gatsby is great for adding a lot of volume to those short layers, which is a typical Japanese hairstyle. Wild Shake adds even more volume, while Air Rise is more of a subtle amount of volume. The wax also adds a lot of texture and definition to your hair, which I like. If you're looking for a styling wax, definitely look into Gatsby. It can be pricy outside of Japan due to shipping costs, but it works wonderfully.

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System

Pro Activ was the first "real" acne treatment I've tried, and this was back in middle school. I absolutely hated it. It took forever to see a noticeable difference in my skin, and it wasn't even that great of a change. I'm not a fan of multi-step systems, as it gets tedious to keep up with. I'd much rather have one soap/scrub, which is what I have now. The smell was one of the worst parts of using Pro Activ. It was simply nauseating. It dried out my skin, and it just didn't do what it was supposed to. I would not recommend this to anyone. It's without a doubt the worst acne treatment, at least for me.

Scrubs -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Wash pink grapefruit foaming scrub

I don't have that much acne, but I occasionally break out. Before this, I used a plethora of products, including Proactiv, which made my skin even worse than before. All I can say is that I love this grapefruit scrub. What initially drew me to it was the scent. I absolutely hated how Proactiv and a lot of other acne treatments I've used smelled. This scrub is not only tolerable in scent, but it smells great. As for effectiveness, it definitely doesn't work overnight, but it can clear zits in a few days to a week. It said to use twice a day on the bottle, but it actually dried my skin out noticeably, so I use it once at night while I'm showering, which is the perfect dose for me. I credit my decent skin to this product. I still have some acne, but it would be significantly worse without this. I've gone a few days without using it, and there is a difference I could see. My skin was oilier and with more blemishes. This is a great product, especially for people like me who don't have major acne, but just some breakouts every now and then.

Top/Base Coats -OPI - Natural Nail Base Coat

This is a pretty decent base coat. It applies well and it dries very fast, unlike the top coat. It was the first higher end base coat I've purchased, and it does work better than drugstore base coats, since it actually prevents staining, which is something that really frustrates me about low-quality base coats. It isn't the most amazing product I've used, but it gets the job done. I just purchased the Essie First Base Base Coat today, so I plan on trying that out and comparing it to the OPI base coat.

Lip Treatments -eos - Smooth Sphere Organic Lip Balm in Honeysuckle Honeydew

This lip balm is amazing, and I absolutely love the scent and color of the packaging! (Honeydew melon green is my favorite color!) The packaging is so original, and I like it a lot more than the tube-style lip balms, because I tend to lose those a lot more than EOS. The balm itself works great. It really hydrates my lips and the nice scent makes it that much more pleasant than say, cherry chapstick. Also, when I catch a cold and I'm constantly blowing my nose, I get the dry upper lip, which is the worst part of a cold for me. I recently got sick, and I used EOS on my lips, and it worked a lot better than other brands I've used. This is the best lip balm I've ever tried, and the fact that it's organic makes it even better. The price is great too.

Top/Base Coats -OPI - Top Coat

I bought the OPI top coat along with the natural nail base coat when I was first getting into nail polishes. I used it for a few months, but I just got frustrated with it because it takes forever to dry, and the finish is no better than some cheap drugstore brand top coat. It does the job, but certainly not well. I had to use drying drops because it took that long to dry. Personally, I like top coats that dry quickly, and the OPI top coat is definitely not one of them.

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat

The only reason why I was hesitant to buy Seche Vite was the price. I'm generally not willing to pay more than $8 for nail polish, which is what polishes such as OPI and Essie cost. However, I saw this top coat at a Japanese cosmetics store in my area, which sells many polishes at a discounted price, so I only had to pay about $6 or $7. I had a manicurist use the top coat on my nails before, so I knew it was high quality. But I'm glad I bought it for myself. It really is the fastest drying top coat, at least for me. I used to use the OPI top coat along with drying drops from The Face Shop, but Seche Vite makes my life a whole lot easier. I tend to mess up my nail polish after a few minutes, since I usually do my nails while I'm on the computer or about to go to bed. It also makes my nails super glossy and professional looking. I do realize that there is a concern for the chemical in the polish that can cause reproductive defects, which is really the only issue I have with it. However, I personally think it isn't a significant amount to cause something major. Overall, great product for impatient people like me.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Infallible Gel Lacquer Liner in Blackest Black

This was my first gel liner, and I loved it so much! I'm still a beginner when it comes to make-up, so I was happy that this product was easy to use. I used to use pencil and liquid liner, which wasn't the best for me in terms of convenience. I use this gel liner on my lash lines, and then I use the Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eyeliner Pen for a wing, which works a lot better for me. This gel liner goes on really smoothly, and I liked the brush it came with. It also lasts all day for me, and I don't have to do any re-touching. Overall, I love this product, and it's definitely my favorite eyeliner at the moment. It wasn't the cheapest thing at the drugstore, but it was worth the $10 I paid for it.
