Bronzers -Hard Candy - So Baked Bronzer, Tiki

I love this as a golden highlighter. In the summer I really like to shelf my silvery highlights and play with the sunny golden ones. This is a great affordable highlighter. I sweep this over my cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose and across my cupids bow. Love the glimmer it leaves. The shimmer is not chunky, you are just left with a nice glow. Will repurchase if I ever run out.

Blush -MAC - Miss Behave
rated 4 of 5

I picked this up at a CCO, mainly as a highlighter for my cheeks. I didn't realize it was a blush since it was so light. I apply this to my cheek bones with a fan brush. When I drag my brush over the center of the heart it picks up the right amount of shimmer for the perfect highlight. Probably would not repurchase (even if it were part of the permanent collection) but I will be happy to use this up for now.

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Pressed Amber (Semi-Precious)
rated 5 of 5

Found this in a CCO about 6 months ago or so. Have to say I love this blush. In the winter I can use a light hand or use for contouring. In the summer it is perfect as is. Its a nice and natural blush, definitely not pink. I am not a pink blush kind of girl. Wish it was still available, but this will last for quite some time I am sure.

Eye Shadow -NYX - Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencil - Milk

LOVE this product, makes all shadows pop and stay put. I used this under some inexpensive shadows and they looked much more pigmented. If you own the shimmer 88 palette or any coastal scents palettes this is a MUST. Will buy until they no longer make this product!!

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Complete Salon Commander in Chic

This is the perfect shade of grayish brownish purpley taupe. I have a warm base to my skin and with a tan this looks fantastic. With a tanner skin tone I feel it is more casual. It will also look great as I pale out again, it will just look more dramatic. I work in a professional office setting so I don't usually rock out loud or "non-traditional" colors, but this leaves me with tons of compliments. Color holds well, I use a top coat and get five days out of it. For me that's great. I chip so easy with two kids and all the clean up that goes with it. The brush shape is fantastic, it's tapered and flat. I have small nail beds and I can get a perfect application on both hands. So much better than the opi version of the flatter brush. Overall, I love this color and e dry thing else about this formula. It's pricey for drugstore but I think it hangs with the Essie and opi's of the world.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked 2 Palette
rated 5 of 5

I finally caved and bought this palette. I tried to get the first Naked Palette but it quickly sold out then I lost interest by the time it was back in stock. Just looking a the two side by side I thought I would give this one a try. I do have warm undertones but I find the colors in the second palette to be more current, perfect for ANY smokey look. I honestly can't count the number of combinations I use. Also Teas and Foxy have become totally indispensable to me. Again I have a warm undertone so these colors suit my skin perfectly. I love creating bronzy smokey looks with high shine and everything in between. I always prime my lids with either a Maybelline Color Tattoo shade or the Urban Decay Primer Potion. I have never had an issue with the lasting power or color payoff of any of the shadows in this palette. Also love the brush, the blending side is fantastic. It was quite pricey, but at least I got the cutest little lip gloss ever. Also I do create a look out of this palette every single day so I have to say it is worth the investment.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow

Love Love Love this product!! Great coverage and staying power. I grabbed these in Too Cool, Tough as Taupe, Bold Gold, and Bad to the bronze. All are wonderful, great buildable color, blends well and stays workable a bit longer than the paint pots. I can't pick a fav, I honestly want to get all of them. The gold shade works well for me year round, really makes a great shimmery base for Hazel eyes. I use the Naked 2 palette with each of these and they are the perfect compliment. I find that applying with my fingers is easiest, just keep the sanitizer handy as these are pots. If you don't use brushes make sure to clean your hands before using (duh!). Can't wait to scoop them all up!!

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Tutorials Rocker Eye
rated 5 of 5
themerchanwifey 5/29/2012 11:00:00 PM

Love this kit. I use these pots along with bold colors to create a bold smoked eye. Also I LOVE the darkest shade wet as an eye liner. The brush in the kit is amazing for a thick sexy application. I will probably have this forever since you only need a tiny bit (in true BE fashion, I will never actually finish any of the eye pots). These are true gunmetal grey shades, no brown undertones here!!

Primer/ Corrector -Bare Escentuals - Bare Vitamins Skin Rever Upper

I received this free in my membership shipment for BE quite a while ago. I kept it in my cabinet and never really knew what to do with it. I have used BE for years although now I am finding in the winter I need more moisture and gravitate to liquid foundation. I started using this one day after I ran out of my daytime serum. I was amazed at how well this helped brighten my skin and keep acne at bay. I use it in the AM after my witch hazel toner. In the winter I follow with a moisturizer. In the summer this goes right under my BB cream (shout out to Boscia and Origins, love them both!!) Its a shame others are not experiencing the same results, but I love this year round. Love the pump, goes a long way. I have yet to repurchase but I certainly will when the time comes!

Moisturizers -Origins - VitaZing SPF 15 Energy-boosting moisturizer with Mangosteen
rated 5 of 5
themerchanwifey 12/8/2011 8:58:00 PM

I love love love this product. I need something for day that contains SPF but itsn't too heavy. The texture of this is perfect. Just the right amount of moisture and no SPF smell. I feel like it's close to a BB but not quite as pricey. I was using boscia BB but this is a tad more moisturizing and a bit cheaper. Maybe I will save the BB for the summer since it's also a tad darker. The self adjusting micro capsules are pretty darn cool. The rep told me to lightly pat to release the spheres. I find the product refreshing. It's just the right coverage for the newly 30 folks. Dust with pressed powder and dab of concealed and the base is done.

Moisturizers -Origins - Night-A-Mins Lotion
rated 2 of 5
themerchanwifey 8/31/2011 9:50:00 PM

At first I loved this product. The smell is wonderful, the texture light and soothing. When I first put it on I could actually feel my face flush. Now it has been almost two weeks and I have little bumps all over my forehead and cheeks. I have not broken out like this in forever. I am not sure if my skin is purging or if it is not agreeing with this product. I will try to tough it out through the sample however if this continues there will be no purchase. What a bummer, I honestly loved this the first week! Packaging stinks though, why did they change it to a pot?

Treatments -Nailtek - Nailtek Intensive Therapy
rated 5 of 5
themerchanwifey 6/2/2011 11:17:00 PM

I have been using the II formula(for soft, peeling nails) for many years. I had acrylic nails all through high school and most of college. After college my husbands mom (Licensed Nail Technician) gave me bottle of this stuff and told my it would change my life. I always had acrylics because I couldn't get my nails to grow, now I literally have to cut them. After two kids and endless loads of dishes I have gorgeous nails. I do not use the foundations, I just use the Intensive Therapy II. I use it as a base coat sometimes, but always a top coat. If I don't feel like wearing color I will apply two coats of this by itself. I keep a bottle at home and a bottle at work at all times. I constantly have to have this on hand, literally! A great product that does exactly as it claims. HG nail strengthener!!

Styling Products -Cibu - Mousse Lee Foaming Volumizer
rated 5 of 5
themerchanwifey 6/2/2011 10:56:00 PM

This is a great styling product for anyone with fine hair. The texture is a bit runny for a mousse, however it is easy to apply and does everything it promises. After having kids my hair has thinned back out and become a fine yet frizzy mess. Not only does this give my hair great volume, but it also smooths it out as well. I use it on damp hair and blow dry with a large round brush. Perfect results everytime and it even lasts into the next day. I am sold!

Cleansers -Boots - expert sensitive gentle cleansing wash
rated 5 of 5
themerchanwifey 6/1/2011 9:40:00 PM

This stuff is pretty good especially for the price! I am a sucker for foams, honestly it's a mental thing really. This is very gentle and rinses clean away. It is perfect for the season changes that normally my skin has trouble with. This may work well for winter as well. I purchased it to replace my aveeno calming foam cleanser. It is yet to be seen if it does the trick through the hot and humid summer. For now a definite keeper!

Eye Makeup Remover -Mary Kay - Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover
rated 2 of 5
themerchanwifey 5/15/2011 11:23:00 PM

I seem to be in the minority here but I am sick of ruining my white towels by all the mascara that this remover does not get rid of. Also it leaves a nasty oily film on my face. I have to wash extra to get the film off. I guess I will be going back to my L'oreal make up remover, even the Garnier moist wipes I used on a recent vacation worked much better than this. And they didn't leave my face super slimy like this product does. The biphase ones just don't do it for me. The only one I like is Chanel and at this point its a little out of the budget. Not going to give this a second try, sorry to be a downer!!
