Hair Color -Revlon - Colorsilk

This product gives great quality for the price. When I first saw $2.98 Colorsilk at Wal Mart, I thought it must be the worst stuff ever. But the price enticed me and I figured I'd at least get it for the developer to use with Paul Mitchell toner I have. For the life of me I can't remember what I got, it was either 02 or 04 (I mostly have bleached/dyed color at a level 9 with level 7 natural hair). Whichever color I got was still too dark and brought my roots up to a rather warm 8/9. It's somewhat brassy though I've definitely had brassier results with other dyes and I don't have too much color in my hair to begin with. The warmth fades noticeably within the first shampoo and a week later it looks very natural. For the price, it's great for root touch ups, but it won't work for anyone trying to get to a level 10 which my hair just won't seem to let me do.

Treatments (Eye) -Mario Badescu - ceramide eye gel

I got a sample of this. I have no freakin clue what it is supposed to do. I've noticed 0 difference but I put it on sometimes anyway because I hope I notice something one day It does actually sink into my skin unlike basically everyone else's reviews but maybe it's because I have sort of odd, almost a little roughly textured skin in my under eye area. I need like the tiniest dab of the product which is nice, except I can't figure out what it does. The only reason this product didn't get a 1 is because it doesn't make my skin break out or irritated.

Primer/ Corrector -DHC - Velvet Skin Coat

This was my first primer ever, I used it in high school when I got a sample. I only needed to use a tiny bit, those samples would last me about 10 uses which I saved for my extra special occasions. I didn't know what to expect but I was amazed at the difference. I had smooth, soft, matte skin. Even without foundation it looked better. My makeup went on totally flawless, lasted, and the product didn't make me break out despite having quite oily skin. It didn't get cakey or feel particularly heavy either. The primer and an average coverage foundation will just feel like a full coverage foundation. This is one of my favorite products ever! I'm glad I got their sample in the catalog.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Light
rated 4 of 5
thekeeg 3/28/2009 5:10:00 PM

I chose this primer over the normal due to my oily skin, although I'm going more combination now. It mattifies my skin really nicely. I tested by putting an illuminator on my hand and then putting the primer over it, and I couldn't even tell that I had used the illuminator. It has made my foundation last longer than my former primer (Lumene) and goes on better, with no weird pieces falling off it's applied too heavily in one area. It doesn't make my foundation go on much smoother than other primers I've used, I can't tell a difference. There's a somewhat strange smell to this product. This isn't an outstanding primer but it's a somewhat pricey, nice, lightweight base that does make a noticible difference.

Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Wet Shine Diamonds Gloss
rated 2 of 5

I got the lip gloss in the clear/silver color when I was in high school. I sure loved it at first because I was in my glitter phase, but this lip gloss kicked me right out of it. Putting on the gloss feels weird because the glitter gives it a rough texture, not like other glosses. For my taste now this stuff is ridiculous and I'd only wear it to a rave, in a play, or on Halloween, but then I wore it to school just about every day by itself. It dried fast and would leave weird glitter residue that just built up and ended up getting on other parts of my face. I was nearly done with the tube when I realized I strongly prefer straight glossy lipglosses. I was really enthusiastic about this product when I used it the first couple weeks though. If you like all things glittery, you'll probably love this. It made me appreciate simple shine and matte textures though.

Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Volume Seduction Plumping Gloss

I got one of these in Grapefruit to try to enhance my lips a bit, they are a normal size but could always go bigger! Personally I didn't notice much of a difference. I notice more of one when I brush my teeth. It's a bit too sparkley for my taste, I wish it were more sheer. It doesn't moisturize at all, I have to do that first. It's also fairly sticky and fades within half an hour. There are better choices of lip gloss out there, especially since I highly value moisturizing and non-shimmery ones.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Heist
rated 5 of 5

This is an amazing color. I am a huge fan of matte eyeshadows, which there is a general shortage of, and this is an amazing color. It shows darker on my skin than I expected but this makes it an even better eyeliner. It's a wonderful warm, very toned down purple. It goes on SO smooth, it's barely a powder at all and does not fall off of my brush. It can be used with so many looks, from smokey eyes to even a more natural look, just enhancing the crease. I will probably use this most days as it is just the best color for my skin tone I've ever found and I love the look of matte shadows so much.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Stacked Style- Baroque Bleu

I got this for $3 at Sephora at the checkout counter today. It is definitely worth $3! It is very floral with a little bit of must to it making it a little bit of a deeper scent. It lasts a LONG time, longer than any spray perfume. It felt weird to use the oily-gelly substance at first but it works great and despite the shimmer in the product, it does not leave sparkles all over my fingers. Using it as a hair gel makes my hair too greasy so I won't be doing that again but I love it on my neck and wrists. Also please know this has hydroxy citronellal in it. I happened to be reading the ingredients for once and I noticed. Unfortunately my boyfriend is allergic to citronella which is apparently fairly common, so be advised!

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Hypnotic Poison Body Lotion
rated 5 of 5
thekeeg 3/22/2009 10:18:00 PM

This is a very smooth milky lotion. It's thinner than a lot of other lotions but only a little is needed and it actually moisturizes my skin better than any other lotion I've used. It smells a tad different than the perfume, it's more gentle and doesn't have the general sharpness that perfumes tend to have. The packaging looks great. I think I lost my bottle so I've been hunting for about a year hoping to find it as it's pretty expensive but IMO worth it for a real nice birthday treat.

I love everything about this scent. Unfortunately I can't describe scents at all except I don't know what's up with comparing it to root beer (I've seen a lot of people do that), it just doesn't smell that way at all to me. It's got a real nice sweetness to it, sort of like natural fruit? It's not really fruity though, it's floral. I'm in love with this perfume. The bottle looks delicious too. The whole scent reeks of pure deliciousness. Sometimes I wish I could eat it - as weird as that may be. I'm running out so I use it sparingly now. It's my scent for sure.

Fragrances -Yves Rocher - Yria Eau de Parfum
rated 4 of 5

I really love this scent, I didn't know it had jasmine in it until reading these other reviews which explains why I like it so much! It is heavy and sensual, lasts quite a while, and isn't overbearing. Paired with the lotion and shower gel is lovely! It's often on sale at amazing prices so don't pay full price!

Lipstick -Sephora - Lip Attitude Chic in Pure Pearl C24
rated 5 of 5
thekeeg 3/22/2009 10:06:00 PM

This is a really nice creamy, somewhat shimmery nude shade. I wish it were more matte but it does a nice job moisturizing my lips. I have fairly pigmented lips and this does a really nice job muting them and goes great with smokey eyes. The price, $9, is really excellent for the amount of product and the quality. I got it as a substitute for a more pricey Shiseido nude lipstick and I am definitely happy. **edit: It's been one week since I got this product and this is actually my favorite lip color now! I wear it nearly every day, it matches everything and is subtle but enhancing to my lips. Going on my favorites list for sure!

Toners -Pro Activ - Revitalizing Toner
rated 3 of 5
thekeeg 3/22/2009 2:44:00 AM

This is a pretty nice toner and gentle due to the lack of alcohol. My skin however needs the alcohol to really get clean and make a difference. It's good for when my skin is dry but otherwise it's not quite as effective as I'd like.

Treatments -Pro Activ - Proactiv Repairing Lotion
rated 3 of 5
thekeeg 3/22/2009 2:36:00 AM

This is a decent product although it doesn't moisturize as well as Murad's clearing lotion. It was the only product from Proactiv I used at the end and it did work nicely and kept my skin from drying out, but when I began to use 10% benzoyl peroxide formulas this was just too strong overtop it. It lasts a long time and I'd use up the extras I have though there are better products to buy.

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - Renewing Cleanser
rated 2 of 5
thekeeg 3/22/2009 2:34:00 AM

I liked the texture of this cleanser and when I was young it initially cleared my badly broken out skin pretty nicely, but it lost effectiveness and just didn't have enough benzoyl peroxide. Also I didn't need to use an enormous amount of product so I ended up getting a bunch of these cleansers sitting around, I even still have them. They are decent but nothing special and not worth the price.
