Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Tough as Taupe
thaydizzle 3/18/2012 3:32:00 AM
First off, I'm only saying that I wouldn't buy this again simply because I don't think I'll ever use it up. I think this is perfect for girls who wan't to put on makeup, but are lazy. (Like me!) It's a cream eyeshadow that looks like what it's supposed to be, taupe. It's not exactly creamy but it isn't too dry where it can't be applied with one's finger. I do use this with a primer (UDPP) just because I don't want to risk creasing, which seems to be an issue with most of the people who've reviewed this product. I say it's the perfect lazy girl shadow because sometimes I just like to put it all over my lid and blend it into the crease. I would put a shimmery shadow in a lighter, but similar shade (ex: Urban Decay's Sin) and BAM! You've got a daytime-smoky eye in two steps using (at the most) one brush! One thing that I do hate is that you have to be careful with how much you apply. It's a bit hard to blend out so it's best to start off light and build it up to your desired look.

Shampoo -Dove - Refresh+Care - Invigorating Dry Shampoo
thaydizzle 3/18/2012 3:24:00 AM
I actually like this product. I've been using it for nearly three weeks now and it's the best out of the ones I've tried so far. (Psssst!, Tresseme) I haven't tried any of the higher-end dry shampoos because I am just not willing to shell out over $10 for a dry shampoo. I would rather resort to *gasp* baby powder if I had to Here's some things I'd like to address: * Scent: Yes, it is really strong, at first. I think it smells insanely good! It is pretty strong at first but the scent does fade throughout the day. It doesn't fade completely because at the end of the day I catch whiffs of it myself :p My hair doesn't usually hold on to scent that well, even on the days that I do actually shampoo. *Main purpose: As a dry shampoo, I really do believe it does its job. The other two dry shampoos I've used lost their effect after a few hours. I end up pinning my bangs away from my face because they're VISIBLY greasy. With this product, I get tons of volume with no signs of grease! Hooray! I'd like to note that with my other dry shampoos, I feel like I'm forced to wash my hair every other day because they just don't hold up as well. The longest I've gone without washing my hair with this product has been four days! I'm sure my hair is happy about that. Some things I'd like to mention: * The product DOES spray white onto the hair, but it really is nothing a good brushing can't fix. * It does leave your roots feeling dry at first, but once the oils in your hair are absorbed, it does go away. * One thing that I don't like is that sometimes I feel like the product doesn't come out so I have to spray a little bit longer. It doesn't bother me too much though because I feel like I use just as much with the other products I've used, but with less results. I used to still have greasy roots. I am definitely going to buy this again!

Styling Products -Aussie - Sidney Smooth - 12-Hour Anti-Humidity Hairspray
thaydizzle 2/20/2010 2:55:00 AM
I used to go to school in San Francisco, infamous for it's foggy weather. Fog was my hair's arch nemesis. My hair would frizz and it would make my bangs be wet and greasy-feeling. The first time I used it my hair stayed frizz-free and didn't feel greasy at all! I went to Japan over the summer and brought this with me. The weather was so hot and humid but my hair didn't frizz or flatten out! Truly a lifesaver. The only thing I hate about it is the pump nozzle; it doesn't work sometimes.

Blush -Jane - Be Pure Mineral Crushed Blush in 03 Rose Silk
thaydizzle 2/20/2010 2:51:00 AM
I love this blush! I got it for free via mail-in rebate at Walgreens. It's a nice bronzy/mauve blush. The bronze makes it more of a warm-toned blush which makes it look pretty natural. The brush sucks so I suggest using a brush of your choice. It's pretty pigmented so start off light when applying and build it up to your liking.

Cleansers -Noxzema - Original Skin Cream
thaydizzle 9/18/2009 7:04:00 PM
I wasn't pleased AT ALL when I first tried this product. It felt so waxy and I had a hard time rinsing it off! I read reviews and read that some felt the same way too. I immediately hated it and wanted to return it.
However, one day I had a bad case of Hunan hand (skin irritation when the oils of hot peppers get in contact with your skin) I was so desperate that I resorted to using this cream since it had menthol to cool it down.
In the end it was the only thing that worked. When I rinsed it off, I noticed that I didn't feel the oily residue that I felt the first time I tried it. I think the oily residue goes away after you scrape away the top layer.
I love the minty feeling, it leaves my face feeling so clean. It even reduced my blackheads! Definitely recommend this product and I'll definitely buy it again since it was $3+ for a 10oz. tub!

Top/Base Coats -Orly - Calcium Shield
thaydizzle 9/18/2009 6:58:00 PM
I'm not really sure about this product. One of my nails tends to break at the same spot, but after using this as a base coat for the past three months, the chipping has stopped. However, I noticed some peeling on the layers of one of my nails after I started as well. It does make a great base coat, it's not horrible but it doesn't wow me. I would buy it again though, but only if it's on sale. (I got it for $3.99)

Skincare - Body -Noxzema - Triple Blade Disposable Razors
thaydizzle 9/18/2009 6:53:00 PM
I got a four pack (with two free razors) for $2.97 at Walmart. No freakin' wonder! They're not even worth the $2.97. Noxema claims the "Skin softening jojoba silk-strips moisturize and protect against nicks and cuts" but I probably had three or four when I was done with my first use. Even the cheap razors that they provide at hotels work better than this! I really don't understand why these razors suck so much.

Skincare - Face -Desert Essence - Tea Tree Oil Facial Cleansing Pads
thaydizzle 1/25/2009 10:00:00 PM
I just bought my second pack of these. I wash my face with my face, pat my skin dry, take a cleansing pad and swipe it across my face, rinse it off and put moisturizer. The smell is bearable, it goes away when you rinse it off. As for the burning sensation, you sort of get used to it and rinsing it off with cool water (as suggested on the package) does help. Just make sure in rinse well! My skin became smoother after a few days of use and the stubborn blackheads started going away, it was great :) The only thing I hate is that sometimes the top pads dry out. That might be my fault though. Overall, these are great and definitely a steal for $3.99!

Polishes -China Glaze - Tinsel
thaydizzle 11/1/2008 4:58:00 PM
Lovely! "Tinsel" is like the beautiful Red Pumps but in Silver. The polish color itself is rather translucent but the silver glitter is gorgeous. I applied this with three coats to make the polish opaque and then applied a coat of top coat to bring out the shine (the polish tends to dry matte) I really think this look is quite unique, and I've gotten lots of compliments on it. I have a love/hate relationship with this though. It's so pretty to look at but such a pain to remove. I still think it's worth it though!

Polishes -China Glaze - Ruby Pumps
thaydizzle 10/4/2008 6:30:00 PM
This shade is freakin' GORGEOUS. I had vowed to myself to never buy another shade of red, but when I saw this at Ulta, I HAD to have it. I had been hearing a lot of it, and when I saw it for sale $6.50, I simply couldn't resist. It has the color of cherry lollipops. Although I am not usually a fan of glitter, since most glitter polishes seem like it's just colored glitter suspended in sheer and translucent liquid, Ruby pumps has a vivid red base. I also like how the glitter doesn't give off the little girl vibe. The glitter makes my nails look like they're lit up from within! Even when I'm out at night and there's the faintest amount of light (like a streetlight) it looks as if there's little lights shining from my nails. This shade is so unique and gorgeous. I think it can flatter EVERY skin tone. My only suggestion is to put two layers of your favorite top coat. It dries matte by itself and the top coats really bring out it's true boldness and shine. Putting a neutral colored or even red base can also bring out the color even more.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - HIP Jelly Balm [DISCONTINUED]
thaydizzle 7/23/2008 10:41:00 PM
I LOVE. I've had a hard time finding lip colors (gloss & balms in particular) that stay true to what you see in the pot/tube whatever. I have this in "Delectable" and the color on my lips almost exactly matches what you see in the pot. It's sort of a hot red/pink color and it looks really nice on medium skin. (I'm usually pretty light but it's summer so I'm quite tanned.) I love how you get glossy shine, good color, and moisture minus the stickiness. It's a little thick but not too much. It's smells really good too. The ONLY thing I don't really like about this is that it's in a pot. I hate having to stick my finger it and apply it on my lips because when I'm done I'm like... "What the hell do I do with the product that's on my finger?" So I always have to have a tissue on me to wipe it off, but the product quality certainly makes up for it.

Eyeliner -Almay - Intense i-color liquid liner in Black Pearl
thaydizzle 5/21/2008 8:30:00 PM
Pros: Easy application, nice shimmery black color (at first.) Cons: Burns my eyes after a while, fades to a grayish color. I thought it was strange for the eyeliner to burn. My skin isn't sensitive so I have no idea why that eyeliner burns. On hot days, my eyelids become oily and this eyeliner fades to a gray color. I'm not going to pay for black-to-gray liquid liner that burns my eyelids again.

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - Wetslicks Amazemint-Slaphappy
thaydizzle 5/18/2008 7:31:00 PM
Hmm. I like this product. When I first saw it, I was like, "Wow, it's pretty much a rip off of C.O. Bigelow's Mentha Lip Tint." The peppermint scent is more toothpaste-like than the mentha lip tint but yeah what do you expect when it's CoverGirl & Crest in one? The only thing that the mentha lip tint has on Amazemint is that it tastes good. As for the color, my lips are pretty pigmented already so this didn't have much an effect on me. It makes for a nice nude gloss though. And as the reviewer says below, the color you see is pretty much the color you get. I'm gonna try another shade.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous mascara
thaydizzle 4/22/2008 2:10:00 AM
Love love love. I have light and thin lashes. This mascara is great for darkening them as well as adding volume. I haven't had any problems with clumping so far, so that's good. What I liked about this product is that the formula actually stays. After a couple of hours, my eyelashes don't go back to normal, or clump up into a mass of eyelashes. Plus, I really don't have to use a curler! I don't need much help from a comb either. Best mascara I've used so far. Even better with a primer, but for this mascara, I think it's optional.

Lip Gloss -C.O. Bigelow - Mentha Lip Tint No. 1641 Magenta Mint
thaydizzle 4/22/2008 1:52:00 AM
I have a love/hate relationship with this product. I loved the Lip Tint No. 1138. I lost both that one and I thought this would be a good replacement. What I liked: The color was pretty in the tube. I also liked how they changed the packaging from that matte packaging they had before. Less likely to get dirty, which used to be a problem with the old packaging. Still the same great minty shine, scent, and flavor. What I didn't like: The formula isn't the same. I still had my old Tint No. 1136, and the consistency is different. I compared both on my hand and the old formula showed up better in terms of color. The new one didn't make much of a difference in color. It's a shame since the color is so pretty in the tube. I'm not sure if I'll buy again. I might just resort to ebay or other online stores to find the lip tints with the older formula.
