Love this! It is the perfect shade of burgundy and looks nice on my chocolate colored skin. Reasonably priced and nice application.
This is my go-to lipstick. I love the hazelnut shade and have used it for years. It is getting harder and harder to find in stores though. Luckily you can purchase directly from jordana.com.
I love this product! Does it last 10 hours? Of course not. But if you don't eat or drink, it will stain your lips for a few hours. There is nothing glossy about this product; it fact it is on the dry side but I prefer that and think that aids in its staying power. I have the Luxurious Lilac shade and think it compliments by dark skin tone perfectly. It goes on like a deep plum color ( a lot darker than it looks in the tube) I plan to stock up on these just in case this is discontinued.
Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Pro Skincare Brush

QVC raves about this product so I bought it when it was offered on easy pay. I wanted to love it, but don't. It is kind of messy and takes up too much space on my small vanity. More importantly, it led to me developing these rough, dry, dark patches on my upper cheeks. It's been months and they're still there. I tried using it less often with the gentle brush but even that hasn't helped. I tend to believe that cosmetics cop lady who says you can get the same cleaning effects from using a wash cloth. Not a fan.
Hmmm.... I used to use this years ago and stopped and now I remember why! It is very wet and makes a mess. Sure it gives you length but I think there are other mascaras that do the same thing and aren't as wet and smear all over the place.
Lipstick -Clinique - Butter Shine Lipstick - Baby Baby

Clinique has been giving this away as a gift and I love it!!! I have super oily skin so I am not a fan of shiny lipsticks but I just blot it with tissue. I love the color and it works well with my chocolate colored skin with reddish undertones. It gives a very natural look.
Pressed Powders -Clinique - Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder
thaonlylakergirl 10/24/2012 10:42:00 PM
Even though you can't tell by the pix and the order of the shades on the website, Stay Sienna is actually the darkest shade, not Stay Brandy. There's a huge difference so if Stay Brandy isn't quite dark enough, head to a local Macys to see the colors in person. For years, I blindly bought Stay Brandy thinking it was the darkest shade. I have emailed Clinique about this in hopes they will update their website. This powder goes on grayish if u apply too much at once using the sponge it comes with...but as someone with skin that is so oily, words can't describe, this does the best job at keeping my face at least somewhat matte. For reference, I have chocolate color skin with reddish undertones.
Powder -Lancome - Dual Finish Versatile Powder Makeup
thaonlylakergirl 10/21/2012 7:58:00 PM
I have chocolate colored skin and matte suede IV was a decent match..not perfect....seems like it has a mild rosey hue to it. For the price, I can't say I'm overly impressed. Also, the fragrance is annoying. It doesn't stink; i just don't get the point of putting perfume in a face powder. I will likely return it and either be satisfied with L'oreal True Match powder in Cocoa or MUFE Duo in Chocolate. This is the kind of powder/shade that i would have to apply slowly and carefully so i don't look crazy and i just don't have time for that. I need to be able to use my pressed powder on the go. UPDATE---- I will definitely be returning this. I used it today all over my face and it makes me look gray and sullen. It will probably work for you if oyu already have nice skin but I have acne spots that I like to conceal at least a little. I don't like it at all.
Powder -Make Up For Ever - Duo Mat Powder foundation

I haven't actually purchased this yet but tried it on and received a sample to take home. I have chocolate colored skin so I tried on #218/"Chocolate". It was a good match but a just a itty bitty on the red side. I actually don't mind a little red because without it, powders tend to look gray/ashy on dark skin. Also, it feels a little on the heavy side. Overall, I do like it and will decide this week if I want to purchase it. UPDATE-- I purchased this and love it. I narrowed my favorite powders down to this and Clinique Stay Matte in Sienna. This provides a little more coverage for my discolorations and it controls shines a lot better than Clinique's. Also, I've had it on for a few hours and no oxidation so far.... think I may have found the ONE!! SECOND UPDATE- LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!! This powder does not change colors. My only minor complaint is the two sided sponge applicator leaves your fingers a little dirty. I will repurchase this product.
Powder -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Powder
thaonlylakergirl 10/21/2012 7:21:00 PM
I just bought this in C8 Cocoa and love it. My skin is chocolate and based on how it looked in the packaging, I thought this would look ashy because it doesn't have any reddish in it but I was suprised it didn't. My only complaint is the cheap looking packaging...pulling this compact out in front of others wouldn't be my proudest moment..lol. Also for the darker skin ladies, there are shades even deeper than Cocoa but you have to order them online. The compact is weird because the mirror is on the flip side of the compact. UPDATE--- if you use the C8 Cocoa, you may have better luck using a brush to apply it. I made the mistake of touching up my face with the sponge it came with and it made my face that odd gray, army green color. I wish this powder had just a touch of reddish to it to pick up on red undertones a lot of dark skinned women have. 2nd UPDATE--- so after using the C8 Cocoa a few more times, I was not happy with the color match with my cocoa colored skin with reddish undertones so I returned it. I noticed on Drugstore.com, they sell some new, darker shades so I ordered Mahagony, Deep Warm, and Deep Cool that aren't sold in stores. All 3 look pretty much identical as C8 Cocoa. They look whitish on my dark skin. I imagine if I were desperate for powder, I could really blend them in and make it work but I choose not to so I will return them which is a pity because I love the texture of this powder but their color match for chocolate colored skin needs improvement.
Pressed Powders -Fashion Fair - Oil Control Pressed Powder
thaonlylakergirl 10/17/2012 2:00:00 PM
I used to use this faithfully but they must have changed the formula or something because now it oxidizes like crazy! I have bought this in cola, sable and walnut. The walnut seems to have gotten lighter and makes me look like I have a white haze on my face. The cola and sable look great in the compact but go on like a deep gray color. For reference, I have ebony/chocolate skin. I have since started using Iman Oil Control pressed powder in Deep. It is a little too reddish but I rather look a little reddish than gray.
Love this scent but it does smell a little like a men's fragrance. For the price, I was hoping the scent lasted on me longer.
Pressed Powders -Iman - Oil Blotting Translucent Powder
thaonlylakergirl 9/7/2012 5:39:00 PM
Right now, this is my go to powder, It is very sheer (so if you are looking for thick coverage, this isn't for you) and while it doesn't absord as much as oil as I would like, it's pretty good. My face is unbelievably oily so I think it's unrealistic for me to think I am going to find something that works 100%. I would but this again. I've read other reviews of the top breaking off real easily; mine is still in tact after about 4 months. UPDATE===my top is STILL in tact so maybe the person who had an issue just got a bad compact. I would like to add that the "deep" shade, which is the darkest this comes in, really isn't that dark and it is very red. It looks like a blush product. For reference, I am chocolate brown. A little red is good as a lot of dark skinned AA women have reddish undertones but if you apply this without looking in the mirror, it can have you looking crazy...like you applied red blush all over your face. I wish Iman would make more shades for this product. The texture is great and I love that the applicator is stored separately from the makeup but the color choices for very dark skin are limited.
Hair Color -Clairol - Beautiful Collection Semi-Permanent Hair Color
thaonlylakergirl 9/7/2012 5:29:00 PM
I used this faithfully in jet black to cover my grays. It covers very well but it only lasts a week! No exaggeration here. I even leave it on longer than the instructions tell you and it still doesn't last but I'm stuck with it because I am allergic to permanent dyes and this one is so gentle. Every now and then I try one of the reddish shades and it takes well on my dark hair which was suprising to me.
