On my dark skin, this shows up as the perfect shimmery champagne color. Awesome as an all-over the lid color or tearduct highlight. It is in the veluxe pearl formula which means it goes on very smoothly. It is not chunky or gritty and is very pigmented. I never use a primer with this and it lasts all day without creasing. I bought this three years ago when i was putting together my MAC 15 pan palette, based on reviews here on mua but never really used it till recently. I have to say I'm wowed by this. I absolutely love it.
I have finally found a way to make Mocha work for me (MAC C8). Because it is a thick satin finish, i find a very thin layer, properly blended, works best for me. I line my lips with my staple MAC Cork liner, very lightly fill in with Mocha and blend. A dab of clear gloss polishes up the look and i'm good to go with very natural skin tone based nude lips. No pink in here. Matches my yellow undertones perfectly.
Even though i have tons of nude lipsticks, i just could not resist purchasing Taupe after i saw a youtube video with a lady about my skin tone rocking taupe. It looked gorgeous on her and is absolutely amazing on me as well (MAC C8). This is a matte finish which I love. It has a good amount of slip to it though and is nowhere near as drying as the fabulous ruby woo. The color on my lips is closest to a very warm peachy pinky brown. There is no mauve tone to this lipstick at all, and that makes it awesome in my books. It is not lighter than my skin tone, so you don't get that light nude look. It is utterly posh and beautiful on me and i am loving every minute of wearing it with MAC cork as a liner. I see Taupe becoming my go-to lipstick. Other nudes i love are Revlon Mink and Nyx Tea
Treatments -Neutrogena - Rapid Wrinkle Repair night moisturizer

I wanted to love this product, I really did, especially since the eye cream in this range got top marks from me. However, it failed in my books because it didn't meet my needs. I have glowing normal skin. Not acne-prone, just the occasional breakout when i get lazy about my skincare. I regularly get complimented on how lovely my skin looks, and this is even when i only used my neutrogena wash and regular moisturizer. I decided to invest in a retinol product after i read that it was recommended to prevent aging. I wanted to protect my looks and keep my face looking good for as long as possible. Enter this product. The first concern i had was the fact that i had to wait upwards of 10 minutes after washing my face to use this, to prevent the irritation which is so common with retinol products. This sucked all the moisture from my skin. It went against my basic skincare training which encouraged the retention of moisture by the application of moisturizer while skin is still dewy and moist from a wash. So nightly, i would wait about 15 minutes after washing my skin, then apply this product. The cream appears moisturizing and applies well, leaving skin with a sheen. However, after months of using this, i noticed that my skin lost its natural glow. For the first time in my life, i had drab dull looking skin. Another concern with this cream, was the increased incidences of break-outs. Before i started the retinol, i could get away with the occasional unwashed face at night and not suffer any break-outs. With this product however, any night in which i slept with make-up resulted in the most painful breakouts, which has left mild scarring on my skin. So i would say, that it increased my skin's sensitivity levels. The only lines i have on my face are around my eye area, for which i used the eye cream in this range with good results, so i cannot comment on this night moisturizers effect on wrinkles. After using this cream consistently for over 5 months, i was not impressed with the results and decided to stop. I was scared that my skin would deteriorate and look worse than it did before i started the retinol like i had read happened to a number of long-time retinol users (retin-a and other tretinoin products though). I am so relieved that my skin has bounced back and is as lovely as it was before i started this product. My glow is back. I will never again subject myself to a "bondage" product like this. I will care for my skin, avoid the sun, use the best moisturizers and hope to age gracefully when the time comes.
Mink is a great nude lipstick for WOC. Very natural warm pinky brown. This is great because it does not annihilate your lips like some other nudes. With a touch of clear gloss, it is even prettier and you just end up looking very polished and put together. It is also pigmented enough to cover up my natural lipcolor. You can also change the color by changing your lipliner. Overall,it's a very versatile lipstick but always natural looking. I recommend this for dark skinned beauties.
I love cherries in the snow. Its a vivid fuschia red on me. Very glam and modern. Wish it was a matte formula however,I recommend this to anyone with similar coloring.
Eyeliner -Prestige - Total Intensity Eyeliner Deepest Black

This pencil started out well. First use gave me intense black pigmentation and long lasting use. However, by the time i sharpened this a couple of times, the pencil turned very hard, scratchy and rough and lost its pigment. Maybe i got a bad batch but it also gave me red eyes the whole day everytime i used this. Initially, i couldn't figure out what was causing my eyes to turn red but the only new product i've been using is this eyeliner. You bet i won't be using this anymore.

My dh got me this after he got tired of hearing me rave about this fragrance. It is my absolute favorite scent in the whole wide world. I love gourmand scents and this is the best there is.
Treatments (Eye) -Neutrogena - Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream

Now i am one person who has been on the search for the perfect eye cream to take care of the lines and crepiness i had developed around my eye area. I had tried a number of non-retinol creams in the past from the fairly priced Boots to the pricey Murad without any success. They all did nothing and i was beginning to think that nothing would work to improve my eye area. As with all things i take an interest in, i decided to do some research and discovered the world of Retinol. Now the question was which retinol product should i try? After reading zillions of reviews here on MUA, i decided to give this fairly new neutrogena product a try because i love neutrogena products and use a fair number of them. The packaging for this is excellent. Comes in an opaque tube with a tiny sanitary tip which dispenses the exact amount you need to cover your eye area. The cream is extremely moisturizing. This is the best eye moisturizer i have used. It lasts through the night and your eye area never feels dry or parched with this on. Even though the product claims that results will be seen in one week, based on my research on retinol products, i knew that it would take a while for any results to be seen and i'm glad i knew that because i would have given up on this eye cream. After a month of consistent nightly use, i could see no discernible difference and was beginning to think that this was one of those. However, i kept on with it and by the end of the second month, my eye area was visibly much better. I'll define that. This did not completely eliminate my lines but they are fainter and are less obvious. The most wonderful result is actually the general condition of the skin around my eyes. Looks firmer, smoother and less crepey. I can look at my face in a face mirror and not have my heart sink at the sight of my eye area. This has met my expectations because i know that once lines are formed on your skin, nothing short of surgery will get rid of them. The results you get with this cream are the next best thing.
I'm a believer! This is excellent and does a great job of applying shadow to the crease as well as blending. Prior to purchasing this, I was totally in love with my mac 217 and didn't think i'd get a brush comparable to it. It's amazing even to me that i rarely pick up my 217 now. I just naturally gravitate to the elf brush and for the price $1.49, its a winner anyday. I haven't experienced any shedding and that may just be because i always wash my brushes before their first use.
I'm glad to see that other reviewers agree that this is one awesome lippie! On my skin (mac C8), this is a red with pink undertones. Very vivid and definitely not for the faint-hearted. This will get you lots of looks when worn out during the day. It is also a semi matte formula which is great and can be used under gloss when you want to add some sass to your look. Edit: I find the texture a bit waxy and off-putting. Makes application a bit patchy, so i'm bumping this down to 3 lippies. Final edit: I can't believe i ever loved this. Very horrible texture. the color is also a bit too loud for me. Have only used this a couple of times. There really is no place for a loud lipstick like this in my life, right now.
Blush -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Blush - Berry Shimmer
thandiepixie 9/14/2012 8:03:00 AM
This is an awesome blush for WOC. Beautiful berry shade with gold shimmer. But be warned, this blush is highly pigmented. I use my MAC stipling brush to apply after just barely dabbing it in the blush pan. Totally totally love it and it is the only berry blush i use now. So glad i discovered it here.
Just had to write a review to prevent others making the same mistake. After reading the good reviews for this product, i ordered two jars. Let me say that this cream has the worst texture ever. Felt like i was applying sudocrem paste to my face. Horrid! Didnt use it long enough to find out if it was effective or not. You couldn't pay me to use this product on my skin daily. Threw it in the trash.
Awesome red! This is the perfect warm red lippie for dark skinned gals. Gorgeous red color with no blue undertones, creamy moisturizing formula, this just glides onto lips like a dream. It also wears off evenly leaving a stain which can be amped up easily by re-application. I absolutely adore dubonnet and this is the only red lippie I wear. Tried out Ruby woo previously but was too dry and didn't care too much for the shade of red against my MAC C8 skin. IMO, dubonnet is an absolute must-have for dress up days. Love it!
Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Sensual Amber EDT

Purchased this fragrance because i read that it is a dupe for the exquisite flowerbomb by viktor and rolfe. Have used this for a couple of weeks now and I love it. It is a gorgeous fruity fragrance with warm, seductive amber. What it is not, however, is a dupe for flowerbomb. This fragrance has its own unique personality - best experienced on a cool winter evening.
