Skincare - Face -Calvin Klein - balancing milk cleanser
rated 4 of 5

I think this is a great winter cleanser or year round cleanser for those with dry skin. It is a light milky cleanser with a pump dispenser. I found it removed my makeup but was mild - no redness, flakiness, or dryness.

Skincare - Face -Jurlique - Moor Purifying Mask
rated 5 of 5

I recently rediscovered this mask. I used to use it all the time but hadn't bought for years - now I'm regretting I ever stopped using it. The mask smells a little funky and looks a little strange when on but it seems to do wonders for my skin. I use Differin and most clay masks seem to burn my skin and make it red. After using this mask, my skin is noticeably less oily but not dried out or inflamed. I'm starting to think the whole Jurlique line is just wonderful.

Skincare - Face -Jurlique - Sun Lotion SPF 30+
rated 5 of 5

This is a great daily sunscreen/moisturizer. I haven't experienced any irritation or breakouts from this product on my sensitive skin. I would not recommend it for oily skins though. It's generously sized and comes with a pump dispenser. Has a slight herbal fragrance, maybe lavender, but this disappears quickly. I will definitely repurchase.

Highlighters -Becca - Princess Pressed Shimmer Powder

I really wanted to love this product, especially after spending $27 at BG to buy it but the color was all wrong for me. It was way too orange/brown. I have fair skin (LSC Sand, Ginger Loose Powder, Praline Foundation Stick) and the color seemed great at first but as time passed - ugh, the brown and orange became more and more pronounced. In the pan this is a warm rosey blush and I found it sheer, very generously sized, nicely packaged, and without pronounced glitter. IMO it should be tested before buying just to make sure that the color remains consistant on your skin.

Blush -NARS - Sin
rated 5 of 5

I have to join the raves here! Sin is a beautiful color and has a wonderful texture. I personally don't find the glitter to be as noticeable on the face as in the compact . If you're fair, however, be foreworned that a little goes a long way - too much can look a little "dirty."

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
rated 3 of 5

I hate to be in the minority on this one...Orgasm is a very pretty color in the compact and has a wonderful sheer and glowy effect with no obvious glitter, the color just doesn't work for me. It turned very orange (not peach) on my skin. So orange, in fact, that a friend commented on my unflattering too orange blush everytime I wore it (what are friends for?). I am fair, have combination skin and have also found this problem with Becca Princess. I suggest trying this blush and wearing it for a day before buying, as the orange effect seemed to increase as the day wore on and was more pronounced in natural light. Maybe it's the oils in my skin effecting the color? I've had better luck with Nars Sin and Mata Hari and Chantecaille blushes. IMHO Nars blushes are very high quality and highly recommended as long as the color is right for you.

Concealers -Becca - Concealer compact

I love this product! It is my holy grail concealer! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this product. The Vanilla is perfect for me but there are so many shades I think most people could easily find their perfect match. Putting 2 different consistancies of the same color into one compact is a brillant idea. I really can't rave enough about this line - every Becca product I have tried is excellent.

Lip Gloss -Becca - Glossy Lip Tint
rated 3 of 5
tfink 6/11/2002 10:14:00 PM

After using the lip tint in Pink and Pink Gold a few times, I have decided to change my review from a rave to a big thumbs down. I like the quality of the gloss and the colors are very pretty and natural but the packaging is really, really bad. After a few uses both of my caps no longer screw on completely - which causes the gloss to leak out, losing product and making a mess of things. Also, the matte finish of the tube seems to be peeling off. I treat my products very nicely, always in a makeup bag, never left in a hot car, etc. As much as I like the product in the tube, I will never repurchase this until they fix the packaging.

Palettes -Laura Mercier - Lip Paints #3 - Sheers
rated 2 of 5
tfink 6/3/2002 10:58:00 PM

I wanted to love this palette because of the great Lip colors but the lipstick formulation is just terrible IMO. They smell horrible and caused my lips to chap and peel like crazy (something that rarely, if ever, happens to me). I finally just threw it away - it was that bad! I would have returned it to the store but I bought it on vacation. This is a beautiful palette but please test the lipsticks out first to make sure that they don't cause you problems. Maybe you can avoid wasting $50 like I did.

Toners -Bliss Labs - Middleweight Finishing Rinse
rated 3 of 5
tfink 6/1/2002 7:16:00 PM

For me, the jury is still out on this product. I have been using it for about a month and sometimes feel like it leaves a sticky film on my face - which bugs me. I really like the cleansing milk and the scrub so I'm trying to convince myself that the rinse is ok. Maybe it's something with Bliss made toners and my skin - I used to use Remede's sensitive skin rinse and found the same problem.

Cleansers -Bliss Labs - Middleweight Cleansing Milk
rated 3 of 5

Originally I liked this cleansing milk a lot but after getting hooked on Awake's skincare line I've decided that this is just 'ok'. For me it was too greasy for Summer. Maybe will try again once the cold weather rolls around again.

Palettes -NARS - License to Kill Artist Palette
rated 5 of 5
tfink 6/1/2002 6:47:00 PM

Great palette as long as you use a light hand with the lipsticks - Times Square is a little scary if put on with a heavy hand. The Captiva (sheer purple berry) and Shanghai Express (sheer red berry) are 2 of my Nars lip favs. The 4 white eyeshadows are beautiful and both mutiples (Cannes and Copacabana) are really great too. If you love neutrals this palette is not for you. But if you're someone who likes a darker lip and light eyes you should give this a try. I have fair skin, green eyes, dark blond hair and every color in this palette works for me.

Palettes -NARS - Skin Deep Palette
rated 2 of 5
tfink 6/1/2002 6:27:00 PM

I bought this palette from Sephora.com hoping that it would be a nice, neutral, subtle palette for Summer. Love Nars palettes but found this one to be a little too subtle and much too brown/beige/blah for my fair skin. The All About Eve duo and Ninotchka blush are ok. I would recommend these individually but not the palette as a whole.
