Treatments -It's a 10 - Miracle Leave in Product
rated 4 of 5
texasangel140 12/4/2011 1:01:00 AM

I bought this product for a few reasons: one, my hair stylist used it on me I liked it, two, my hair is very fine, thick and almost constantly tangled, and three, because I wanted an "adult" detangler...something that didn't smell like strawberry kiwi. I have the one without keratin. I feel as if I have to use a lot of product to have any effect on my hair. Out of all the things this product is supposed to do, I feel that it only detangles and softens my hair. After continued use I noticed build up becoming a problem, but as long as I switch up my shampoo/conditioners it seems to help. I've been using this product for almost 2 months, I'm halfway through the bottle and I'm not extremely impressed.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Green Tea Scrub
rated 3 of 5
texasangel140 8/15/2011 4:26:00 PM

I was so excited when I bought this face wash and I'm sad to report that I do not like it. As others have said, it is hard to completely rinse off and if you don't completely get it off, it leaves white granules everywhere...which is super annoying. I've also broke out more since using this, and before that I never, ever had acne (knock on wood), except for maybe three pop ups my entire life. I don't think its the salicylic acid because I've used other washes with that and have not had any problems. I think my acne flare ups are a result of this because when I use my other wash the acne clears up, then I use this and its back. I have noticed a reduction in redness which is great. I'd like to try the green tea cleanser to see if its any better; maybe my skin just doesn't like scrubs. As for the abrasiveness compared to the Apricot Scrub, I've never used it so I wouldn't know.

Tinted Moisturizer -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Enhancer SPF 20
rated 3 of 5
texasangel140 8/1/2011 10:13:00 PM

I have mixed feelings about this TM. I've been using this for almost 2 months. I don't like wearing a lot of make up and I highly dislike foundations and such for daily use...so I decided to try a TM. I really liked that this had sunscreen in it and it also had a retinol treatment, but since I'm only 20 I don't think I really need that yet. Anyway, the pros of this TM is that it really moisturizes my face and I love the smell (kinda like tanning lotion to me). However, I don't like that it somewhat looks like sunscreen when you put it on and I find it hard to blend in. It doesn't provide much coverage, but its a tinted moisturizer...not a foundation; so I wasn't expecting much coverage. When I'm outside for a long period of time (hot, humid Texas), this feels disgusting on my face...like its just sliding off. Right now I want to try other TMs. I'll probably repurchase this in winter.

Misc Beauty Tools -MAC - Brush Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
texasangel140 7/23/2011 11:41:00 PM

This cleanser leaves my brushes soft and clean (even the brushes with white bristles!). However, it is easy to waste product if you aren't careful. Like others have said, I wish this came in a spray bottle or something easier to handle. It is expensive but it should last awhile. Will repurchase whenever I am out.

Concealers -MAC - Pro Longwear concealer
rated 4 of 5
texasangel140 7/12/2011 9:24:00 PM

I bought this a week ago in NW20. When I got the bottle home I was like "I seriously paid $16.50 for this tiny bottle?" but when I used it the next day I realized that a little goes a LONG way. However, that's IF you can get a little out. The pump releases too much product if you aren't careful. The pump also gets messy. First, I apply a tinted moisturizer before this which I think helps it stay on. Then I apply under my eyes and the little redness around my nose. This concealer definitely helps cover up dark eye circles but I don't think it covers redness very well. I have not noticed drying out under my eyes or creasing. The product does last all day, which is great! One other thing I don't like is it heavily smells of chemicals. The smell doesn't linger but it's still irritating. At this point I will repurchase because its effective at covering up dark circles and I think the product will last awhile.

Styling Products -Sebastian - Shaper Hairspray
rated 5 of 5
texasangel140 7/12/2011 9:02:00 PM

This is a review for the Zero Gravity hairspray. I bought this on sale for $7 at Ulta. This is a light hairspray, which is what I prefer. This provides just enough hold to my hair and isn't heavy at all. I do like it, but at regular price I think it is too high. Price is the only reason I wouldn't repurchase, unless I find it on sale again.

Lotions/ Creams -Tree Hut - Coconut Lime Shea Lotion
rated 5 of 5
texasangel140 7/8/2011 2:25:00 PM

I bought the matching body wash before buying this and I loved that so much that I decided to get the lotion. One, I'm a sucker for anything and everything coconut scented. Two, I'm very picky with lotions. That said...this is my favorite lotion and the only one I've ever liked. It leaves my skin moisturized all day and doesn't feel greasy to me. The price is great too! Will definitely be repurchasing.

Shampoo -Joico - Daily Care Treatment Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
texasangel140 7/4/2011 5:53:00 PM

This is a review for the Daily Care Balancing Shampoo (not treatment). I borrowed this from my mom and I LOVE this stuff. It makes my hair super soft and doesn't get greasy throughout the day or the next day. The only thing I don't care for is the smell, but I'm used to it now. I like the conditioner too. Packaging is good. I will repurchase.

Eye Shadow -MAC - All That Glitters
rated 5 of 5
texasangel140 7/4/2011 5:42:00 PM

This was the first MAC product I've had and I received this as a gift. I love this product. The color lasted all day. I used this on my lid. I had a tan when I picked this shade out and I think it looks fantastic on tan skin. However, I'm pale again and yes, it does look orange-y. I should probably mention that I have not had my skin tone matched at MAC but in other brands I'm always the lightest option. I paired this with the matte shade Corduroy. This is kinda pricey, but it lasted me about a year and a half. Although I got this as a gift it lasted so long I'd spend my own money on it. And will buy again once I get my tan back. Edit: I went to MAC a few days ago to get a concealer and found out I'm a NW20. Not as pale as I thought I was. Anyway, I also picked up another shade to pair with this eyeshadow and I think it made a big difference. It no longer appears orange-y to me.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Naturals - Purifying Facial Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
texasangel140 6/23/2011 2:47:00 PM

I bought this because it claims to be a natural product. As far as I know, it does have natural ingredients. The scent was a little strong the first time I used it, but I have grown to like it. My skin hasn't turned red or dried out...yet. My skin does get a little tight, which bugs me, but I put moisturizer on after and it feels fine. The pump was confusing to me. I thought I had broke it but I got it back together and realized you need to twist it to open. Now that I know that, I like that it locks. I've traveled with this once and it leaked a little, but I honestly don't remember if I "locked" it or not. Regardless, be careful when traveling with this. EDIT: I'm now noticing each time I use it my face gets a tad more red. I think once I use this up I'll take a break from it.

Shampoo -Suave - Professionals Rosemary Mint Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
texasangel140 6/23/2011 1:48:00 PM

I use this and its matching conditioner as a clarifying shampoo once a week, or when I feel I need it. Prior to using this, I was using a set for color treated hair that put a ton of build up in my hair. This set cleaned all that gunk out on the first wash. It does make my hair a tad dry, but it retains the shine. I also love the scent. Whenever I use this, my bathroom smell reminds me of the Aveda salon smell in the mall. I do have color treated hair (colored from light brown to dark brown) and I didn't have any problems with color fading. The packaging is also nice. I don't have any problems getting product out, with the cap snapping off, or opening/closing. I wouldn't use this as a daily set, but definitely as a clarifying option. Will repurchase for that purpose.

Styling Products -Paul Mitchell - Super Skinny Serum
rated 4 of 5
texasangel140 6/23/2011 1:33:00 PM

This is the only serum I've used, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it works really well. It doesn't leave a film on my hair and doesn't create build up. It makes my hair shiny too! It's supposed to cut drying time in half, but I don't think it does on my hair. I have fine hair, but a LOT of it. Anyway, I didn't notice a time difference when I use this. Also helps fight humidity! I apply this mid length to my ends. It is a little on the expensive side, but I've had my bottle for about 8 months now (shoulder length hair), so its cost effective.

Styling Products -Aussie - Sprunch Spray
rated 3 of 5
texasangel140 6/23/2011 1:20:00 PM

It is almost impossible to get my hair to curl but I'm bound and determined to make it happen. I saw how cheap this was so I figured I'd try it out. I used the Aussi leave-in conditioner/mousse before I used this. Yes, it made my hair a little more curly, but it also made my hair gross and stiff. The bottle also got congested and wouldn't spray anymore (even after running it under hot water) so I ended up throwing it away. Would not repurchase.

Shampoo -Redken - Color Extend Shampoo
rated 3 of 5
texasangel140 6/21/2011 6:35:00 PM

I colored my hair for the very first time last summer and Ulta had this on sale, so I picked this and the conditioner up. It worked great for a few weeks but then it started leaving a ridiculous amount of build up in my hair. I even gave it a break for a few months and used it again and after that first wash, the build up was back. Also, the cap on my bottle snapped off, so beware of that. I wish I hadn't bought the liter because I have 3/4ths left and no use for it.

Shampoo -Aussie - Sun Touched Shine
rated 4 of 5
texasangel140 6/21/2011 6:12:00 PM

I was using an expensive salon brand but it was weighing my hair down and just making my hair feel awful. So, I bought this to alternate with a clarifying shampoo/conditioner. I have normal, fine hair, but a TON of it. This shampoo/conditioner definitely helped bring life back into my hair. My hair is shiny and light feeling. However, the day I wash my hair with this set, it does feel a little greasy, but the 2nd day it feels amazing. Weird, I know. The caps on these bottles are horrible. They are hard to open the first time and mine don't close. The bottle is easy to squeeze though. I use this product twice a week and my clarifying set once a week. I bought this set in March and I'm about half way through the bottle (I bought the small/regular size). The only reason I probably won't repurchase this is because every time I buy a 2nd bottle, my hair decides it doesn't like the product anymore. It never fails. So I buy something different every time to keep my hair happy.
