Fragrances -J. Lo - Love at First Glow perfume

Amazing scent. Tacky, cheesy bottle! I'm almost embarrassed to buy this! I want to tell people it's really for my 14 year old sister. Nonetheless, I do adore the scent. It's young, floral, fresh, and pretty. I can picture a girl going to her prom wearing this. I even feel younger when I wear it. Very long lasting, which is great-it lingers on your wrist and clothes and leaves a light pleasant scent after drydown. Wouldn't repurchase, only because I never ever buy the same scent twice, but I dont see myself getting tired of this anytime soon.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Face & Body Foundation

I think I found my HG foundation, after years of trying! I love almost everything about it: scent, thin textured, great pigmentation, and it's LONG wearing, even though it contains mineral oil. I love that is gives me a little bit of a boost of color (a little tan!) without being too dark or muddy. IT dries a little quick so you have to blend fast. I use my fingers-dont even bother using a sponge, because it'll just soak up all the product. I love that the bottle is BIG, too. I think this will last a long time.

Lotions/ Creams -Jergens - Skin Smoothing Lotion
rated 5 of 5

This lotion is my miracle potion. I have moderate KP on my upper arms and this makes the bumpies go away and makes my skin really smooth and soft with daily use. After using it for just 2 days I noticed and felt a difference. You have to keep using it to keep the bumps away though--if you stop, they will come back. KP is one of those things that has to be controlled, it can't just disappear forever. I also tried Neutrogena Skin smoothing lotion which was also pretty good. It works just as well as Jergens but smells worse and is around $5 more. Jergens is definitely the winner :) I buy bottles at a time to make sure I never run out.

Self Tanners -Lancome - Lancome Flash Bronzer Tinted Self Tanner for Face [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5
tesora13 11/19/2005 11:39:00 AM

this stuff gives me great color, after the bronzer part is washed off. makes me subtely tan, not too dark or orange. it is a little too bronzey-shimmery upon application, which i hate. i never apply this before going outside. only before bed. Also, it breaks me out so badly(on forehead and chin especially) whenever i use it. i just keep going back to it because of the nice color it gives me. i wish it didnt clog my pores so much, though.

Lip Treatments -Mustela - Hydra-Stick
rated 3 of 5

This is expensive for what it is and what it does. I don't have a young child, but i hear its very good for their chapped lips and skin. For myself, I'm not a big fan. The smell is lovely (very babyish, mixed with cold cream? I personally like it!) BUT it leaves a whitish tint/film on your lips. It's also very thick, like paste. OK for very chapped winter lips but not any other time for me. $10 is a lot for this stuff. Palmer's cocoa butter stick all the way.

Lip Treatments -Estee Lauder - Amber Bronze Lip Tint Balm - Berry
rated 5 of 5
tesora13 9/4/2005 11:48:00 PM

this is so pretty! a moisturizing, berry-plum shade that gives your lips a plump healthy glow. i just hope they never discontinue it, since it's part of a summer bronze collection i believe. price is steep at $16. would be OK for a lipstick, but this is just a balm! it's still one of the best tinted lipbalms ive ever tried, though--and trust me, i've tried what feels like 100 of em!

Lip Gloss -Stila - Sugar Plum Lipglaze
rated 5 of 5
tesora13 8/31/2005 5:46:00 PM

I hate hate hate click wand applicators. In fact, for a while I was anti-stila lipglaze because of the price. BUT Sugar Plum is such a beautiful color that I'd repurch over and over again. It's a shimmery mauve sheer plum in the tube, and goes on to make your lips glossy and pink and healthy looking. The shine isn't overwhelming and blinding like some glosses. It's just a very pretty color and the gloss lasts so long on the lips. In the tube, it's another story. Even tho Stila made their tubes bigger, I can go through a L.G. in a month. Tastes and smells sweet too!

Lipstick -Stila - Wendy Lipstick
rated 5 of 5
tesora13 8/31/2005 5:42:00 PM

Gorg. color! Stila makes the best lipsticks as far as consistency goes. All of them are super creamy, long-lasting, not too glossy and definitely not matte or drying. Makes my lips look smooth and pretty. Wendy is a berry/medium pink. Looks great under a stila lip glaze (starfruit or sugar plum, in my opinion). I also have pixie, which i like for a more neutral, beige-y pink color. Wendy's the best!

Self Tanners -Olay - Radiance Reviver for Normal Skin
rated 4 of 5
tesora13 8/29/2005 10:36:00 AM

Much better than Jergens Nat. Glow. Less of a "self tanner" smell from Olay, and gives more natural color too. Jergens is more of a self tanner with a lotion, and Radiance Reviver is more of a lotion with a bit of self tanner. I can see myself being happy with this in the dead of winter when i am pasty, whereas Jergens would probably turn me orange when I'm that pale.

Lips -Stila - Lipstick in Pixie
rated 4 of 5
tesora13 8/25/2005 10:05:00 PM

A pretty creamy natural pinky mauve on me. YLBB shade, very moisturizing. Doesnt go brown or orange on me, so I guess I'm lucky. It's pricey, but spending more $$ for lipsticks is good because you can test them out and the colors tend to be more natural looking, in my opinion.

Treatments -Clearasil - Vanishing Cream
rated 5 of 5
tesora13 8/25/2005 9:59:00 PM

This is my HG pimple healer. I have really crappy skin if I dont use it. I'm 22 but lately, I've had 15 y/o skin! My chin and forehead were breaking out in little reddish pimples and clogged pores that were unpoppable and really annoying. Clearasil vanishing cream just makes them disappear in two nights. I've tried ProActiv, Neutrogena, Clean and Clear, DDF...and Clearasil is the best for me. For $5.00, I'm surprised it even works as well as it does. I find that the best thing for my skin is to have a very simple skincare routine: Dove unscented soap for my face, Clinique clarifying lotion #2, then Clearasil.

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Fantasy Britney spears
rated 2 of 5
tesora13 8/25/2005 9:44:00 PM

I've been DYING to try this. I sprayed this today in Macys. I thought it wasnt going to hit stores until Sept, but my Macys actually had it. First, the pink round bottle is very pretty. So is the box it comes in! The fragrance is VERY similar to Pink Sugar by Aquolina, only Fantasy lasts half as long. It's a warm cupcake/chocolatey caramel scent. I sprayed it on my inner arm and it lasted a whole 5 minutes! Then NOTHING. Not even a drydown. Curious even had more lasting power. Fantasy smells good, but I'm sorry, I've had $10 body mists that lasted longer on my skin. It's also not cheap. I wouldn't purchase this, let alone REpurchase it! Britney (or her "people") has mastered hyping up a fragrance and designing the package, but there isnt much else as far as scent goes.

Fragrances -Coty - Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker
rated 4 of 5
tesora13 8/24/2005 6:18:00 PM

Unlike so many that reviewed "Lovely", I actually love this fragrance. I think it's so pretty, slightly musky and floral. Nothing like I've ever smelled before, and I mean that in a good way!! I reached a point where I'd go into the perf. department or Sephora and smell things that all smelled the same to me! This is different and that's why I like it. I've never smelled NR for Her, so I can't compare. The bottle is gorgeous, and I like SJP. The fragrance is perfect for any season, day or night. It's musky, so it works for fall and winter. It's floral, so it works for summer and spring too. I spritz in the morning and there's a faint "trail" of this left wherever I go. (according to my friend). The name suits the scent perfectly!

Lip Gloss -Bath and Body Works - American Girl Conditioning Lip Shine - Sheer Chocolate Mint
rated 5 of 5
tesora13 8/21/2005 11:25:00 AM

Everything about this gloss is amazing. The taste is perfect, not overly minty like you're slathering Crest on your lips. It's sweet and minty, which is a great flavored gloss combo. It's also surprisingly moisturizing, very creamy for a gloss and not sticky at all. Even the price is right-I paid $4.50 for mine. The BEST part about this stuff is the top part of the tube. The applicator is not round, which I hate, like Tutti Dolci glosses, but it's slanted with a rounded tip. A little detail, but for a gloss addict like me who picks apart every one she owns, it's important! I also bought the strawberry flavor, which is good if you want a more juicy, fruity flavor. Love them both!

Gels/Soaps -C.O. Bigelow - Rosemary Mint Superb Body Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
tesora13 8/21/2005 11:19:00 AM

this stuff is AMAZING. the smell is so invigorating and lovely that I never want to get out of the shower! I love mint-scented products. Even though this is $13 which is a LOT for a body wash, I'd repurch. It's worth the money to feel like a million bucks when you're in the shower :-)
