Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Pink Chiffon Body Lotion
tenderheart003 1/21/2012 8:50:00 PM
I got the $1 mini and the lotion itself is the same as the other BBW lotions, moderately moisturizing, nice texture. The scent reminds me SO much of VS Pure Seduction. I couldn't figure it out for a few days and then it finally clicked. It is slightly less sweet and a bit less in your face than PS, so some may like it more. It has a weird plasticky note when I first put it on that disappears after a few minutes. All in all, it's an astonishingly boring fruity floral...and I tend to like fruity florals.

Powder -Almay - Wake Up Hydrating Makeup
tenderheart003 12/26/2011 11:19:00 PM
For starters I am an HE snob. I have a friend that has GREAT skin and recently found out this is what she uses. I decided to try it and I am very pleasantly surprised. I have never really been a fan of powder foundations and I've tried many including BE and Studiofix. This gives light coverage, feels nice on my skin, doesn't oxidize, doesn't cause breakthrough oil on my combo skin, and doesn't break my acne prone skin out.It blends right into my skin without highlighting flakes/dry areas. I honestly am not sure why the rating is so low on this! If you need/like medium or more coverage, this isn't for you. It doesn't work as a setting powder for me though. I've tried it over several liquid foundations and it looks crepey and dry. It looks great on bare skin or over my MAC concealer though.

Fragrances -Viktor & Rolf - Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb
tenderheart003 11/11/2011 2:35:00 PM
I love Flowerbomb! I like to layer it with BBW Dark Kiss s/g and lotion. It is very sweet but I don't find it to be gourmand. It's playful and sexy without being OTT. One squirt is plenty and I find it to last pretty well through the day. For comparison, I also like MJ Daisy, Chanel Chance eau Tendre, Stella, Narciso Rodriguez For Her Musc EDP Intense, Burberry Beat, and D&G Light Blue.

Foundations -Rimmel - Clean Finish
tenderheart003 7/29/2011 6:05:00 PM
This product is A-MAZING. It makes my skin look perfect, even, smooth and velvety. And my skin is certainly none of these things. It lasts well, and doesn't further dry out my dry spots and seems to control my oily spots. However...and this is a big however...everytime I wear this foundation I break out horribly and it takes my skin weeks to recover. I'm not the only one to have this problem with this specific foundation, and there aren't many products out there that cause this kind of reaction for me, hence the low rating. If it works for you, you are super lucky because it looks incredible! I find that using the applicator to "smear" lines across my cheeks, forehead and chin and then blending with fingers is the best application method.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Creme of Nature - Argan Oil Intensive Conditioning Treatment
tenderheart003 7/21/2011 1:57:00 PM
This product is awesome! I got a packet at walgreen's for $1.99 in the "ethnic" hair care area. I have ridiculous hair....my hair texture is medium and wavy/curly but I have sooo much of it. I have been noticing so much breakage and this summer sun has fried my hair to no end. This product helped tremendously! I've used it twice so far. It smells a bit strange to my sensitive nose but other than that...I'm in love. It helps that it is so cheap too! It has helped to make my scalp less flaky too. Hair care win!

Toners -Shiseido - Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Balancing Softener Enriched
tenderheart003 7/7/2011 9:53:00 PM
This review is for the new repackaged, reformulated Benefiance toner. That being said this is much more moisturizing than the original version (which I've also used previously). This keeps my skin just as clear as the pre-reformed product but adds a bit too much moisture. I bet the reformed regular balancing toner would be perfect but the girl at Dillard's gave me the wrong one and I didn't notice for a few weeks. I can't deduct points for how moisturizing this is because that is what it's supposed to do! I'll love it come winter but I'm still pretty happy with it in the Texas summer. I have combo (dry cheeks, oily t zone), sensitive and acne prone skin. I use the benefiance wrinkleresist extra creamy cleansing foam with this and then The Skincare Day Moisture SPF 15 and my skin looks so smooth and clear. Whenever I veer from Shiseido skincare I regret it! Especially the benefiance toner, it makes a huge difference in how my skin looks and feels.

Cleansers -Shiseido - Benfiance Extra Creamy Cleansing Foam
tenderheart003 7/7/2011 9:33:00 PM
I actually like this new version much better than the old one. It is MUCH more emollient and not stripping at all. I am not the target demographic for this product, so I can't really complain about it being a bit too emollient for my 26 year old skin, now can I? It cleanses very well, taking off my daily makeup. If I have on heavy makeup I use a shu cleansing oil first and then follow with this and it completely gets rid of the cleansing oil residue. I'm happy with this product and used in conjunction with the Benefiance toner, my skin is clear and flake free. I highly recommend Shiseido in general, they make awesome products. They are expensive but so worth it. My 50 year old MIL uses all of the Benefiance products and has for many years, and her skin literally looks like a 35 year olds. She was my motivation for trying these products in the first place! For reference, my skin is combo (oily tzone, dry cheeks), sensitive, and acne prone. These products help to balance me out.

Treatments (Eye) -Shiseido - Bioperformance Super Eye Contour
tenderheart003 7/7/2011 9:21:00 PM
I adore this eye cream. I was using a kinerase cream before this and my eyes were looking worse and worse. I'm only 26 so I'm in more of a preventative stage than a corrective one. This eye cream is pretty light in terms of texture but I only need a tiny dot for both eyes. It doesn't give me milia which I am prone to. I really feel like it protects my eye area. I've been using it for almost a year now and I have noticed a softening of the teeny smile lines around the outer corners of my eyes. This preps the area perfectly for concealer too although I've noticed that my circles aren't as prominent as they used to be (this could be from a lot of things but I think this has helped). The other awesome thing about this is the price. Looking at comparative brands or even other eye creams from Shiseido this one is pretty affordable at 55.00. I'm very happy with this product and don't feel the need to search elsewhere. I think it will continue to help prevent wrinkles. Also, remember how I said I only need a tiny dot? I'm just now, after almost a year, running out. Win.

Palettes -Stila - Pretty in Paris Palette
tenderheart003 7/6/2011 10:47:00 PM
Wow, apparently I'm in the minority. Here's the thing; yes it was only 10 bucks and if it was, say, maybelline or some other d/s brand then I would call it a win. Considering it is Stila and eyeshadows and CC's are what they do best, the pigmentation, texture, and lasting ability of all of the products are completely unexpected and disappointing. The CC has plenty of pigment but it doesn't have the super smooth and moist texture of full sized CC's. I'm sad to say that this was a waste of money, even if it was only $10. I would have paid $15 if the quality was nicer!

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Warm Soul
tenderheart003 7/5/2011 6:30:00 PM
This is so gorgeous! I'm an NW20-25 normally but I'm more like an NW25-30 right now thanks to the Texas summer sun! When I am fairer I usually stick to pinks/peaches but this is a nice change of pace and looks lovely on my tan skin. The shade is a complex bronzey-peachy-plum that doesn't pull orange on me at all, which happens a lot to me due to my undertones. There is a slight shimmer but it's not nearly as glitter on my skin as it looks in the pan. The texture is lovely, smooth and applies easily. It wears well over mineral makeup, powder, or foundation/tm. I can't wait to try more shades!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Modelette (Warm & Cozy 2009)
tenderheart003 7/4/2011 2:32:00 PM
This shade is amazing as a natural-looking crease color! It just has the barest of shimmer in the pot but it doesn't translate to the eye. I'm an NW20-30 (25ish right now) and it looks nice both when I'm fairer and darker.

Lip Treatments -Banana Boat - SPF 30 sunscreen lip balm Aloe Vera with Vitamin E
tenderheart003 7/4/2011 2:27:00 PM
I LOVE this stuff! No weird scent, smell or taste which I am very sensitive to. Moisturizes so well that I use it even when I won't be outside in the sun. It was really cheap too, like 2 bucks. I am prone to getting strange allergic reactions from lip balms but this doesn't cause any reaction.

Polishes -Essie - Great Expectations
tenderheart003 6/8/2011 8:49:00 PM
I LOVE this shade! It's the perfect light dove gray cream. I wear it through every season and it always works. I love it this summer with other neutrals like white, cream, and brown. The consistency isn't awesome, but it's not horrible either; 2 coats look great. I don't find it similar at all to moon over mumbai. That shade is much sheerer and has blue shimmer.

Fragrances -Dolce & Gabbana - Light Blue
tenderheart003 6/8/2011 5:21:00 PM
Well, I happen to LOVE this scent for summer. It is light and airy without being floral. It is definately citrusy and while it smells a bit sharp in the bottle, it settles on my skin. The reasons for rating this a 3: SO expensive! $47 for .8 oz. For reference, a 1.7oz bottle of most of Chanel's perfumes will run you $65 for more than double the amount of product. Also, this scent doesn't linger! It fades really quickly after I put it on which means it is even MORE expensive. I love the scent, but won't repurchase. The other scents I love are MJ Daisy, Chanel Chance eau Fraiche, Coco Mlle & No. 5 Eau Premiere, Stella, Burberry The Beat

Fragrances -Narciso Rodriguez - Nr for Her Musc Collection
tenderheart003 5/10/2011 8:20:00 PM
I must say that NR has THE most confusing naming system I have ever seen! The product listed in the heading and the product that I am reviewing is called "Narciso Rodriguez For Her Musc Collection EDP Intense" and it is in the metallic purple/pink bottle. Also, it smells NOTHING like the original For Her scent. I am by no means a fragrance expert; I wear what I like. I have a sensitive stomach though and there are many scents that make me nauseaus (for instance, the original NR scent or SJP Lovely). This scent is gorgeous! It is sexy without being overwhelming. This has replaced Stella as my nighttime scent although I have worn it during the day in cool weather and kept sniffing myself. I haven't been brave enough to wear it during the day in the summer heat here in Texas because I can see it being a bit much.My skin picks up a lot of the musk and jasmine, a hint of the ylang ylang and little to no orange blossom. It is well rounded and smells "polished" to me. This was a great buy and my current fave. Other scents that I like, for reference, are MJ Daisy EDP, Stella, DKNY pure, Chanel Coco Mlle, Chanel no 5 eau premiere, Chanel chance eau tendre.
