Cleansers -Purpose - Gentle Cleansing Wash
teedums 6/26/2011 2:18:00 PM
This is one of the better drugstore cleansers that I have tried. My holy grail was discontinued a couple years ago so I have been experimenting with other brands. It's gentle as advertised but does the job, a no frills cleanser. Another good thing is that you can get this almost anywhere, Target, Walmart and your major drugstore chains carry it as well. I also like the pump bottle and the price is decent. I rate this a 5 and would definitely purchase again.

Liquid -Maybelline - SuperStay Makeup - New Version

I haven't had the greatest luck with foundations, I have had several misses over the years but have also managed to find a few that will work for me. This is one of them, is it perfect? No...but it is in the top 3 of foundations that I have tried. I need a full coverage foundation but also prefer liquid over cream, which is too much. While I need the full coverage I don't want the caked on or overdone look either. The staying power is decent, I don't know if it lasts 24 hours. I do tend to get oily in the t-zone but that's generally most foundations that I use, just my skin type. The difference here is that it's just the t-zone where others it was my whole face. This will be my go to until I find the perfect foundation, who knows when that will be. Overall, I am satisfied with this product and I rate it a 4.

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Body Essence Teat Tree Oil Bath and Shower Gel

This stuff is a steal, I have only seen at Walmart but at around $3.50 a bottle I decided to try it out. The bottle is huge! It's a pump bottle which is a bonus too since it's so big and would be a pain to dispense the product otherwise. The smell is nice, lathers well and does a good job cleaning. I like the green color of it too. For the budget conscious you really can't go wrong with this product, you get so much product for so little price. I have so much shower gel so it will be a while before I repurchase again but I would for sure.

Cleansers -Basis - Basis Cleaner Clean Face Wash
teedums 6/26/2011 1:30:00 PM
Since my beloved St. Ives Clear Pore Cleanser was discontinued, I have been on a search to find a replacement. While I have not yet tried their Green Tea Cleanser, this product comes the closest. I like the smell, it foams up well and cleans well. The packaging isn't bad but I would prefer a pump bottle. This product can be a little hard to find also, I have seen it at Walmart (but not lately), Ulta usually carries it. I have purchased in 4 packs from Amazon and that it where I will likely buy it going forward provided they still have it. Overall, I rate this a 5 and will continue to purchase.

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Foaming Facial Cleanser - Sensitive Skin
teedums 6/26/2011 1:22:00 PM
This isn't a bad cleanser, I bought based on the other reviewers that it's similar to Johnson & Johnson's Purpose but cheaper. It does the job and I like the pump bottle too. Sometimes, I have to use a lot to get a decent foam going but that's just a minor issue. There are other cleansers that I prefer but I may buy this product again. Overall, I will rate a 4.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleanser Cream
teedums 6/26/2011 1:16:00 PM
I bought this to try out, I generally steer clear of cream cleansers but thought I could use once a week or so to "deep clean". For me, it was just okay, I noticed the tingly feel on my face but I don't think it did the best job of cleaning my skin. I think I just generally prefer liquid cleansers. I managed to use up most of the bottle but I wouldn't purchase again. I have also tried Neutrogena's liquid cleanser and prefer that over this. I will give it a 3 rating overall.

Gels/Soaps -Ulta - 3-in-1 Shower Smoothies
teedums 3/7/2010 4:57:00 PM
I have the S'mores 3 in 1 shower smoothie. It smells very nice in the shower, certainly true to it's name, plus it lathers up pretty well. I don't really care for the pump dispenser, not much comes out with one pump but that's only a minor annoyance. I only use this as a shower gel by the way. For me this scent didn't linger out of the shower at all, which is not a huge deal as I generally put lotion on afterwards, but a minor disappointment. Maybe it's just this particular scent, who knows. I have read other reviews on other Smoothie scents that were quite fragrant out of the shower. Will I buy again, probably not. I will enjoy this bottle though while it lasts, and this scent was certainly fun to try out but there are lots of other products out there that I simply like better. I will still rate it a 4 for the scent. I am not sure this product is still available anymore anyway.

Lotions/ Creams -St. Ives - Whipped Silk Body Moisturizer [DISCONTINUED]
teedums 1/8/2010 7:54:00 AM
I have been wanting to try this for awhile, so I went out and bought some. It is nice lotion, just as the package says fast absorbing and non greasy, which I really like. The smell is nice, not overpowering at all, another plus. I will have to use in the warmer months, definitely not moisturizing enough for the winter, but that's okay. I would definitely buy this again and likely will! Great drugstore lotion...

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Body Cream
teedums 12/17/2009 7:29:00 AM
I use BBW's body lotion mostly but have a half dozen of these creams as well. They are nice for winter as my skin gets quite dry and these are more moisturizing than the lotion, and for the most part they absorb well. On a few scents I have found that the lasting power isn't very long, fades pretty quickly. Also, as another reviewer stated, the shelf life is iffy. I have a lot of BBW products and some for quite a few years even though I try and use up within the shelf life. I did have a Fresh Vanilla body cream go bad a couple years ago, it got very runny, but the smell was still okay so I managed to use it up. But I didn't store it in the best place either, I think that is important, now all my lotions are in a dark closet. I may repurchase these again, but I tend to prefer the lotion a little better. Overall not bad though.

Gels/Soaps -Bath and Body Works - Creamy Body Wash
teedums 12/17/2009 7:18:00 AM
I am mixed on these, I only have in Warm Vanilla Sugar. The scent and texture are nice, but I tend to agree with other reviewers that you kind of have to use a lot in order to get a decent later going. My biggest complaint is the bottle, I need to stand it upside down otherwise a bunch of product runs out and down the drain. I suppose I may have gotten a bad bottle that doesn't close quite right. Even so, I don't think I will buy these, fortunately I got this one as a gift , but I seem to like the shower gels much better.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Coconut Body Butter
teedums 12/17/2009 7:12:00 AM
I have never used any of the Body Shops products, my sister had this and didn't like it or want it so she gave it to me. My skin is already super dry as winter is here so I tried this stuff last night. Holy softness! I was very impressed! Now I know what I will be using to combat winter dryness, I think this will likely be too heavy for summer use, I think one has to be careful with how much they apply. I found that it absorbed well and pretty quickly. Plus the smell was nice and subtle, not too strong. Very nice! I think I would definitely buy this once I run out, must have for those who live in winter tempuratures and deal with dry skin. I use a lot of lotion this time of year, and many just aren't moisturizing enough, but not this. Highly recommended...

Gels/Soaps -Bath and Body Works - Sea Island Cotton shower gel
teedums 10/25/2009 1:06:00 PM
Yeah, I must agree with another reviewer who hit it right on the head, this scent is just a tad too sharp for me. It is a clean scent which I typically like, but I don't want to step out of the shower smelling like laundry detergent either. I will use up my trial size bottle but won't buy again, there are many other BBW scents that I like better.

Gels/Soaps -Bath and Body Works - Rainkissed Leaves Shower Gel
teedums 10/11/2009 3:00:00 PM
I like this scent, one of the few that BBW carries in their stores these days that I do like. In some ways it reminds me of the Green Clover and Aloe, but it's different. It's clean smelling and refreshing, smells just like it says. I would probably purchase again, they don't have many like this anywhere else. Good product.

Lip Treatments -Avon - Moisture Therapy Lip Balm SPF 15 (solid stick)
teedums 10/11/2009 2:49:00 PM
This balm is decent, does what it says in terms of moisturizing, plus it's super cheap. I would probably repurchase again, but there are other balms out there that I do like a little better. All in all a good basic lip balm.

Lip Treatments -Avon - Winter Parade Lip Balm - Sugar Cookie
teedums 10/11/2009 2:42:00 PM
I was a big fan of this and other Avon lip balms, until one day they dried my lips out really bad. I ended up throwing the few tubes I had on hand away, which was disappointing. I really liked the smell, plus they were so cheap. They worked well for a long time, not sure why it had a negative effect on me. Oh well, I guess I need something more moisturizing. They are decent for the price, and come in lots of neat flavors, just not for me.
