Toners -Renee Rouleau - Elderberry Toner
rated 5 of 5

I absolutely love this toner. This is my favorite thus far. It makes my skin feel so clean and moist. I also tried the balancing tonic for oiler skins but it dried me out too much. This is perfect even for my combo/oily skin. I would definitely try it but only with her toning pads as it saves so much of the product instead of being wasted in a cotton pad.

Powder -Laura Mercier - Mineral Powder SPF 15
rated 3 of 5
tdramey 1/11/2008 10:01:00 PM

This mineral powder was sooo not for me. I am a HUGE Laura Mercier fan and have been wearing her oil-free foundation and tinted moisturizer for years and its been my HG. I decided when she came out with the powder to buy it after a MA at a Neiman's event put it on me. Not only was the shade Honey too dark and Classic Beige too light, it was SUPER shiny and made me look like I have huge pores when I don't! I remember trying Bare Minerals a couple years ago and hating that as well. I have decided that I hate mineral makeup and I will never wear it again. I noticed every morning after I breakout after using this. Never Again! I would strongly tell everyone to stay away from this product. Stick to her regular foundations... trust me on this one ladies.

These definitely save your toner and help you use far less product. I would never be without these again. I didn't even believe it until I tried them myself.

Feels good. Smells good. Removes makeup effectively. In fact, there is nothing negative I can say about this product. I would definitely recommend.

Cleansers -Renee Rouleau - Purifying Face Wash
rated 5 of 5
tdramey 1/1/2008 8:50:00 PM

I love this cleanser. I use purifying in the morning and aloe cleansing milk in the evening to remove the makeup on my face and then follow with Dermalogica Dermal Clay Cleanser. I don't mind the simple packaging as the product inside does the trick. I truly feel like my very oily skin has become more combination after using this product. Highly recommend!

Eye Makeup Remover -Lancome - Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Make-up Remover
rated 5 of 5
tdramey 1/1/2008 8:47:00 PM

Hands down the best eye makeup remover I have used. I don't know why so many people have commented on it being too oily? Practically every eye makeup remover I have used prior to this one was twice as oily! I would highly recommend this if you don't mind paying $26.00 for it which I feel is overrpriced. Sometimes you get what you pay for though.

Mascara -Fresh - Supernova
rated 4 of 5
tdramey 1/1/2008 8:44:00 PM

I am actually a bit surprised by the harsh reviews for this product. Before I began using supernova I was all about DiorShow. The SA at Sephora begged me to try this and she was right. I like to have very dramatic lashes but would never want to wear fake lashes and this does the trick. What I like most is it only takes a couple coats to get the look I want. I would definitely recommend for those that want the dramatic look.

Moisturizers -Renee Rouleau - Sheer Moisture
rated 5 of 5

I am still on my first tube of this moist and I love it. It is definitely my favorite of all I have tried, and that is everything! I used Dermalogica's Active Moist for years but I found it was just too oily. It never seemed to soak all the way through my skin. After a couple minutes sheer moisture has soaked through. I would highly recommend to oily/combination skins who should always moisturize but not with anything greasy.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Blot Powder
rated 5 of 5
tdramey 5/15/2007 2:56:00 PM

First of all, let me start by saying that blot powder, regardless of the shade you use is translucent with limited amounts of color. That said, it is not meant to be a setting powder as I have seen some people write. This is STRICTLY for touching up your makeup throughout the day without caking on any other type of consistency onto your face. I have incredibly oily skin. In fact, I never really see anyone with a face oiler than my own! Luckily beyond that I have been blessed with great skin otherwise. Although I don't struggle with breakouts oil is a constant struggle for me. For all of those that have made comments on the puff inside, I would have to agree that it is a pain to deal with. if you do decide to use it just buy a bunch and change them every two weeks. If you don't the oil will build up and make a bacterial mess on your face. I have started replacing them with the Bobbi Brown powder puff refills. It's a MUCH nicer puff, allows the product to go on better and helps absorb oil better for whatever reason. They are about 6 dollars a piece US. I would highly recommend it!

Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Active Moist
rated 4 of 5
tdramey 8/10/2006 11:01:00 AM

I use this as my nightly moisturizer. I use in conjunction with SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 gel and it works very well. I would recommmend this product, however if you have very oily skin like myself, use it only as a nightly moisturizer and use the oil contol lotion during the day. This will leave too much sheen to skin during the day.

Treatments -Dermalogica - Oil Control Lotion
rated 4 of 5
tdramey 8/10/2006 10:15:00 AM

First of all for those of you who expected this to be a true "moisturizer" you should have done more research on the product! It is meant to be an oil control lotion and prevent breakouts from forming during the day. If you want more moisture you should use the active moist. (I use this in the evening) This is not the product for that. In regards to the pilling of the makeup with this, I have no idea what that's about. I am very oily and I use this during the day mixed with the spf30 booster and I have never had any problems with my makeup being affected. Maybe it is the type of makeup you are using. I use Laura Mercier which is truly the best in my opinion and have never had any problems. Of course every situation might be a a little different, but I think it might be due to using the product incorrectly. You truly only need like a pea size amount for your whole face and if you want spf- mix it with the booster with the same amount. You should be good!

Scrubs -Dermalogica - Daily Microfoliant
rated 5 of 5
tdramey 8/10/2006 10:07:00 AM

I use this in the morning after I cleanse my face. I work a small amount into dampened hands and massage gently into my face. I let it sit for about a minute. They key is to be extremely gentle.. I think a lot of the people complaining about exfoliators being to harsh is because they are not using them correctly. You should never massage hard on your face. Of course you will end up red if you do that! I use a prescribed exfoliator in the evening and although it doesnt recommend another exfoliator- i still use this in the morning for the brightening effects and to even out the skin tone. Like with any product the key is to finding the best way for it to work with you. Every person's skin is different so different methods might be necessary. Nonetheless, I think this product is great and I would recommend it to all!

Cleansers -Dermalogica - Dermal Clay Facial Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
tdramey 8/10/2006 10:00:00 AM

This would be my HG cleanser. I use this in the evening before the precleanse to remove all oil, makeup and dirt. I love the refreshing menthol in it and that it's clay based. I feel it really soaks up all the oil from the day and gets my face completely clean. I have been using this for a couple years now and would not change for anything! I also like the Daily Microfoliant and the Oil control lotion mixed with the spf30 booster for the day and active moist as my nightly moisturizer. I have been using this combo for a while now and I have never had better looking skin. Also try using the skin refining mask three times a week. I notice less oil builds up during the day when I use this faithfully.

Cleansers -Cellex-C - Betaplex Gentle Foaming Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
tdramey 8/10/2006 9:56:00 AM

I use this as my morning cleanser followed by Dermalogica Daily Micro Exfoliant. The combination works wonders on my very oily skin. My skin has never been softer or smoother and I constantly am bombarded with compliments including makeup artists and estheticians. I would highly recommend this. I do not use in the evening though because I need more thorough cleaning to remove my makeup and all the oil and dirt that builds during the day. For that I use Dermalogica Dermal Clay Cleanser and their Precleanse to remove all traces of makeup- my skin is in great shape!

Liquid -Laura Mercier - Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation
rated 5 of 5
tdramey 8/1/2006 2:18:00 PM

I have been using this product for a couple of years now. I have tried basically every quality line that exists from Bobbi Brown to Chanel to Dior to Mac- you name it I have tried it. Hands down this is the best oil free foundation I have ever tried. I use Suntan Beige which is a good color for me and although it takes a little extra time to apply with the sponges and all, it is well worth it when I see the finished product. Although I have great skin and breakout rarely, I do have a problem with oil. One thing I have realized is there will never be any product out there that prevents oil. All you can do is use products that will not put MORE oil on your face. I set it with the translucent setting powder and when I do start to get oily during the dat, I jsut touch up with Laura Geller's Invisible Matte Maker Powder which is great! (You can see my review on that product as well) But to be honest, this foundation will be very hard to beat whether you are oily skin or not. And when you don't have time to apply this liquid formula, try her foundation powder in the compact- its quick and easy and gives you the same results as this almost when you apply it with a brush.
