Lotions/ Creams -Suave - Everlasting Sunshine lotion
tashraf 6/27/2012 11:43:00 AM
I usually buy Suave lotions for my legs, for the rest of my body, I use BBW lotions. So, I was looking for a summer fragrance to try and this caught my eye. The name reminded me of BBW forever sunshine (which I never used). I also remembered emilynoel83 of youtube loving this. So I bought it. I LOVE the smell! I used this on my legs with no problem, so I decided to try it on my body and hands. After a day to so, I developed a rash on the inside of my left elbow. I also noticed that the skin of my arms were rougher. So I began to use my BBW lotion again on my body and arms and the rash went away and my skin became much softer again. So now I use my BBW lotion all over my body and arms and I mix this with my BBW lotion just so I can use it up. My legs are much softer now (which I never knew they could be this soft since I've been using suave lotion on my legs for a LONG time). I credit that to the half amount of BBW that I use with this lotion. I still LOVE the smell of this lotion. But if I could get rougher, drier skin when I live in South Florida then people who live in cooler and drier place won't get enough moisture from this. So I won't buy this again. But I give it three stars because of its smell! Also, it wasn't that bad on my legs.
I've been using this toothpaste almost without interruption for about a year now. When I first saw the commercial for this, I was drawn to the claim that it reverses gingivitis. I suffer from gingivitis and gum bleeding (due to gingivitis). I used to be very conscious in public, fearing to gum bleeding. But after using this product for a year now, I almost never have gum bleeding. My gum don't even swell up that much anymore. I have seen some improvement in the progression of my gingivitis, much slower progression (its still there though, under my gum, but is reducing). If a toothpaste can do this, then it's amazing! The whitening claim of this product is not that strong, the 3D toothpaste is much better on that account. Like many others here, I too had the peeling and the white film problem. But after a month or so of using this product, I don't have that problem anymore. I guess my body got used to it, just hope my gingivitis does not! I wish it had the smaller cap instead of the big round one. I understand that with this bigger flat cap it is easier to make it stand up on its own, but a lot of toothpaste gets collected underneath the cap. That's why I took a lippe off. I would've wanted to give it a 4.5 but can't. I would definitely be buying another tube as soon as I'm finished with my current one. And as long as no other toothpaste comes along claiming to reverse gingivitis, I'll be sticking with this one.
Ok, I've been eyeing this palette for months now. Then few weeks ago, I finally broke down and bought it from Amazon. Especially after I saw a picture under the UD Naked Palette that showed dupes of most of the colors of the Naked Palette in this palette (it also had swatches so you can see the colors from both of the palettes side by side). I don't know who was the nice lady that posted that picture, but if she ever reads this review, I thank her. So, about this palette, I just got it yesterday and I've been playing with the colors ever since. The quality is very good as expected (I own the 88 matte palette too). There was no broken shadow. I bought it for about $21.95 from Amazon. I love the greens, amethysts, oranges...well almost every colors! Also, if you own the WnW comfort zone palette, you can find dupes of the light green shade (in this palette, it's the last shadow from the top on the 3rd column from the right) and an exact match of the shadow on the lower right corner (labeled definer) in this palette (the 4th color from the bottom, on 4th column from the right). I love both of the palettes. I'm very happy with this purchase, $22 for 88 colors is a great deal, and the quality is very good too. So, if you like other CS palettes, then try this one too. I also love that I'm getting dupes of the colors in Naked Palette for less than half the price and with tons of more pretty colors.
Treatments -RoC - Multi Correxion Skin Renewing Serum
tashraf 6/29/2011 10:10:00 AM
I might be the youngest reviewer here for this product (after seeing the age range of the reviewers here). But I've been using this skin renewing serum for about three months now and my skin has never been this glowy, smooth and even toned. This has even drastically reduced my acne...which is a great reason in itself to repurchase this product (!). I have seen some noticeable reduction in my fine lines (though...I didn't have many of it before). I use it only once a day though...at night, before bed. And about once a week, I even massage the serum on my neck and hands and I have seen the skin improve there too. I am about half way through the bottle and feel that it will last me another 3 months. Will buy again for sure after I'm done with my this bottle.
Polishes -Rimmel - 60 Seconds Nail Polish in 810 Stop Traffic
tashraf 6/5/2011 11:25:00 AM
This is my one and only rimmel product in my makeup and nail stash. I love the color. Bought it last year when hot, bright pinks were hot. I still love it. The formula is pretty thick (took one lippie off for that). I LOVE the brush!!! Very easy application with the brush. I would definitely look into other rimmel nail products after this.
I don't know about one coat being enough (as the others have said). I have to apply two coats to get it opaque enough (I don't mind it though). This is my third Milani polish. The formula for all them is too thin, you definitely need more than than one coat (again don't mind that). I love the cute bottle. I like the color too, perfect for spring and summer. The color suits my warm, tan skin color. The only reason I won't buy it again is because I would like to try other pink polishes. But it's a good quality polish.
Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
tashraf 2/5/2011 10:57:00 AM
There is a reason why there are over 4 thousand reviews on this product (most of them are positive reviews). I recently bought this and now I know why so many women LOVE this. I put it on 7 am and take it off at 10 pm, so I have it on for 15 hours. My eyeshadow looks the same when I put it on in the morning. Eyeshadows are VERY esay to blend, in fact I feel like my shadows become creamier when I blend them (it is that easy to blend). I have oily lids and my lids look good even with just the UD primer potion. It has now become a staple in my makeup routine.
OMG!!!!! DO NOT buy this. I got this in the getaway kit from sephora. I've only used this 2 times. The first time I used this, I woke up the next morning with millions of tiny bumps on my lid (I took off my makeup of course). I blamed that on my old mascara. But I've used that mascara and the same eye shadows (w/o this primer) without any reactions. Now I used this primer for the second time yesterday. This morning I woke up with bee stung eye lids. I look horrible =( *sniff* I gave it one lippie cause it keep my eye shadow from creasing for 10 hours.
Eye Shadow -Coastal Scents - 88 color matte palette
tashraf 12/27/2010 5:21:00 PM
This was a best 18 dollars that I've ever spent! I bought it from Amazon and it came in perfect condition. I LOVE having all these colors! Though I wish it had more purple shades (as I think I look good in purple colors). I would definitely buy it again, I think everyone should buy it too (wayyyy better than spending $30 or $40 on some UD palette where you get only a handful colors).
Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Pure Ice - Taupe Drawer
tashraf 12/13/2010 12:23:00 PM
I LOVE pure ice nail polishes. I'm the kind of person who doesn't like to spend more than $3 on a nail polish because I like to collect a variety of colors. This is perfect for $2. I have 6 pure ice nail polishes and I'm just starting to collect them. I love this color because it is the prettiest neutral I own (perfect for fall/winter). I've painted my nails with this so many times already and I've bought this about 3 months ago. This color looks a lot like metro chic (but a LOT less cheaper). 2 coats is all I need and the color becomes opaque enough for me. I would buy this again.
Pressed Powders -Maybelline - Dream Matte Pressed Powder
tashraf 12/11/2010 10:10:00 AM
I bought this after being recommended by two nice MUAs here. I use medium beige which is the right shade for me during winter but I'll need to buy a darker shade during the summer. It does leave a hint of color on my face when I use it. I think this is better than my mineral veil from bare minerals since it does not look powdery. I do have to reapply it after few hours, I don't mind that. The applicator that came with it is basically useless, I use the mini compact brush that I got from a bare minerals compact travel case as a free gift. The bottom part of this compact where the mirror and the puff goes in, gets loose in time so it opens up and the brush falls out in my bag. I don't like that. But, besides the packaging flaws, the product is great. I haven't had any breakouts from this (which is always a huge plus). It makes my skin look smooth but not dry and "matte" like the name of the product suggests. It leaves a satin finish. I would definitely buy this again.
I don't know why this product has such a low rating. I love this and I use it in multiple ways. First as a facial exfoliator, then I use it to exfoliate my hands and my lips (I massage it very gently there and don't use a lot of product there since the granules can be rough). I use this every other day (as suggested on the tube). I've been using it for a long time (does not break me out and it actually has made my acne scars lighter and less noticeable). It is a staple in my skin care routine.
Lip Gloss -Clinique - Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 in Guavagold
tashraf 11/5/2010 9:16:00 PM
I love this!!!! I've had this for awhile now. I use it frequently. I pair it with L'Oreal's lipstick in peach fuzz (a perfect match!). It is sticky other than that it gives me the perfect nude lips with peach undertones. I will surely buy this again.
Lip Gloss -Clinique - Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 in Clearly Pink
tashraf 11/5/2010 9:08:00 PM
This was my first Clinique lipgloss. I have had it for about a year now. I love the color on my tube and on my lips. I pair it with a clinique lipstick in all hearts (I got it as a gift after buying a clinique fregrance). The only thing that I don't like about this product is that it is sticky (took a lippie off for that). Will buy this again.
I was looking for a light (yet bright) pink lipstick. When I saw this at my local MAC showroom, I bought it instantly. The amplified finish is my favorite from MAC. The color glides on smootly and color payoff is great. I have another lipstick from the amplified line, it's called Impassioned (love that too but can't wear that everyday). The amplified finish can be a little drying but I still prefer this over something that no matter how many times I swipe on, nothing shows up on my pigmented lips. This color I think I will wear everyday this coming winter and spring (maybe even summer lol).
