Eye Shadow -Jane Iredale - Eye shadow

I recently bought the Wine & Roses, and the colour is spectacular! The shadow is deeply pigmented so a little goes a long way. However, after a few hours the shimmer disappears and the colour turns from burgandy to brown. Also, it tends to crease, a problem which I have never had before. I am sooo disappointed, because I otherwise like everything about this product. Therefore, two lippies because of lack of lasting power. Plus, it is a little on the $$$ side.

Moisturizers -Vaseline - Petroleum Jelly

Hmmmm. I have mixed feelings about this product. Recently, for the first time, the area under my eye became extremely chapped and red (I'm still not sure why). I put a dab of some expensive eye cream to soothe it, and it made it worse! It was so dry and flaky that, out of desperation, I applied a VERY LIGHT layer of Vaseline with a q-tip (I had run out of aloe). It soothed the area immediately and by the next morning the irritation disappeared. However, I don't think that I would ever use this as an overall moisturizer. It is simply too heavy and it just sits there. Plus, it is derived from petroleum. Petroleum! Gross! Also, never use it to moisturize the area under the nose - there is some literature out there that indicates that this can lead to specific health concerns. Therefore, two lippies because it is handy to use around the house, but I don't think that it has a place on the face!

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System

I managed to escape adolescence with a few zits here and there, but once I reached my mid 20s I began to develop major issues with acne. So, after being brainwashed by those mind-numbing pro-activ commercials, I bit the bullet and bought the three step. What a disappointment! Keep your money, ladies. This is just fancy re-packaging of some basic acne treatment ingredients. The exfoliating wash (step 1) irritated my skin and made my acne worse. The repairing lotion smells terrible and did nothing except bleach my pillowcase. The toner was the only thing that I liked, and seems to contain some good ingredients, such as glycolic acid and witch hazel. I could only use it every other day because it tended to dry out my skin. I think I'll stick to spot treating my pimples from now on.

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector

I have deep dark circles under my eyes and this product does an excellent job covering them. The texture is a bit thicker than I would like, but it is very emollient and does not get cakey. The only problem is that it does crease so it needs to be set with powder. I lucked out and found a shade that matches my skin perfectly and does not give me the "reverse raccoon" effect. I even tried to use it as a foundation because it matched my skin so well, but it is way to heavy for that, even if I mix it with moisturizer. This is my number one concealer that I have found to date.

Concealers -Jane Iredale - Circle Delete

I like this as a spot concealer instead of using it for my very dark undereye circles. It is very emollient, so creases easily and is gone by mid-day unless you set it with powder. It is very light and does not cake, but it also does not have alot of pigmentation, so I had to apply multiple layers to fully cover my circles. A nice product for someone who has dark shadows under their eyes, but not for deep dark circles. Nice for covering pimples because it "floats" over them and does not highlight flakey skin.
