Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
taradiddle 5/4/2012 3:28:00 AM
Like everybody and her mother, my doctor recommended that I use Cetaphil as my cleanser. I used the Normal to Oily version of this product for years and it was fine- no miracle product, but it didn't aggravate my skin like some of my other skin products had. I bought the "gentle" version of the cleanser one day by accident and decided to try it out. It couldn't be very different from my regular version, right? Wrong. This stuff didn't take off my makeup and left a film on my skin that took a lot of extra rinsing to get off. What's worse, within three days of using it, my skin broke out! My face calmed down after I stopped using the product. It doesn't get high marks from me.

Lip Treatments -Nivea - A Kiss of Flavor Strawberry Tinted Lipcare SPF 4
taradiddle 4/19/2012 12:11:00 AM
Although it doesn't feel like wax, it tastes a little waxy, and very slightly sweet. It's got a barely-perceptable red tint, low level shine, and it smells like a strawberry popsicle. The product doesn't need much pressure to apply, it glides onto lips. Of course, it glides right off, too, if you eat anything, but that's expected! It's not intensely moisturizing, but it doesn't dry out your lips either. The tube it is in is solid... over all, it's very pleasant to use. The only thing I wish I could change would be the SPF- four is pretty low unless you are constantly re-applying.

Fragrances -Prada - Infusion d'iris edp
taradiddle 4/18/2012 11:47:00 PM
Infusion d'iris is a nice, sophisticated scent, and it's probably lovely on the right person. On my skin, however, it does not evoke an iris- and there is definitely no orange blossom. Initially it smells like the soil the plants might grow in and then dries down to a somewhat dirty powder.

Fragrances -Donna Karan - Cashmere mist LUXE
taradiddle 4/15/2012 7:40:00 PM
DK Cashmere Mist Luxe is a sensual, strong-yet-soft scent. On my skin, amber is the most prominent note, and it is softened by woods and a low hint of jasmine. The other floral notes listed are not distinct. It's a cold weather scent that lasts for a long time close to the skin. As the other reviewers have noted, it smells very creamy, with less of the baby powder note of the original edt, although I find that I do get a bit of powder in the dry down. It's a lovely scent, but it isn't right for me.

Lips -Jordana - Easyshine Glossy Lip Color
taradiddle 3/8/2012 3:37:00 AM
I have this in Berry Colada- a sheer, shimmery medium plum shade. The texture is great! Not sticky at all. It wears well, but the color fades over the course of 2-3 hours, so you have to reapply fairly often. I don't like that I can feel the shimmer on my lips, although it isn't gritty. It smells and tastes like artificial fruit. When the product fades, it leaves behind a very slight stain and a lot of little glitter. I would definitely buy another EasyShine in one of the non-shimmery colors!

Shampoo -Oscar Blandi - Pronto Dry Shampoo
taradiddle 1/26/2012 2:08:00 AM
My hair gets fairly oily about 1.5 days after shampooing and this is a great product for getting through that second day when my hair begins to feel less than clean. The lemony scent helps perk me up while the product itself perks up my hair. The scent does fade after a while. It helps create volume, and it's also great for travel! To use it, I pour some into a glass or the palm of my hand and then dip a cheap powder brush (like the E.L.F. Studio flat top powder brush) in and tap off the excess, then brush along both side of my part in the direction of my hair, around my hairline, and wherever else I need it. Brushing it on instead of squirting it directly onto my scalp really helps the white powder blend into my hair and cuts down on frizz because I don't have to use a hairbrush to brush it in like crazy. I find that's it's also faster to use this way. I've been using the Pronto Dry Shampoo since 2008 and with weekly use have only recently had to repurchase a 1 oz travel size. It's more than serviceable, but I'm curious to try other dry shampoos. No matter what else I find, though, I'll probably always keep a bottle in my purse. Edit: Another thing to note is that you can unscrew the top of the bottles to check how much product you have left, or to refill the travel size!

Sunscreen -Skinceuticals - Physical UV Defense SPF 30
taradiddle 1/25/2012 1:18:00 PM
I have been using this sunscreen for four months now on the recommendation of a doctor to protect my skin. Overall, I like it- however there are some things to keep in mind. It can leave a white cast, depending on how much you use- but that can be covered by powder/foundation if necessary. Yes, it can also make you a bit oily after a few hours, but that's easily managed with oil absorbing sheets. I love how effective it has been at preventing sun damage and how it sticks tenaciously to the backs of my hands until I remove it. I'm acne-prone and it doesn't irritate my skin or cause breakouts unless I forget to take it off and sleep in it. If you're serious about sun protection, give it a try!

I got this because of the MUA reviews- and it's lovely. Soft, brightening, and not too shimmery.

Lotions/ Creams -Lubriderm - Skin Therapy Moisturizing Lotion
taradiddle 4/3/2005 2:05:00 PM
Skin Therapy is nice- not intensley moisurizing, but perfect for the summer. I don't like that it takes a while to really sink in, especially if I apply a bit more than normal. On the plus side, Lubriderm doesn't give you slimy legs in the rain. It's also incredably gentle- four lippies.

Lotions/ Creams -Sally Hansen - 18 Hour Protective Hand Cream
taradiddle 4/3/2005 1:56:00 PM
I like this product well enough. Nicely moisurizing, but takes a while to really sink in. Not unpleasant, and it's easy to find and cheap. The smell is a creamsicle-y orange with a hint of carrot.

I happen to love this product, herbal scent and all. A moderately rich hand creme that sinks into my skin almost immediatley.

Top/Base Coats -Sally Hansen - Mega Shine Top Coat
taradiddle 2/28/2005 8:52:00 AM
I like this well enough- it's definitely shiny- but it peels off of my nails quickly when I don't use it over one helluva strong base coat. Still- the gleam is mesmerizing...

Top/Base Coats -Sally Hansen - Hard as Nails - Clear

I've been using this for at least half a year or so as a top and bottom coat, and sometimes just on its own, too. Dries quickly, the scent isn't terrible as far as nail polishes go. Five stars!

Fragrances -Kenneth Cole - Kenneth Cole 'BLACK' for women

An office scent- not offensive in any way. The notes sound promising, but the scent didn't last on my skin.

Fragrances -Gucci - Envy ME

This, to me, smells like artificial fruit. The packaging is inoffensive, and the staying power's not great. It's not for me.
