Ahhh, this is my new love! I was in desperate need of a good night cream, and have been wanting to try this for awhile. I did pay $23.99 CDN for it, but since I will pretty much only use this on my face, the price is justified. So my skin has changed now that I'm over that teenage acne phase. My oily- normal combination skin is now slightly oily/dry and sensitive, in terms of eczema like irritations on the tops of my cheeks. This does not cause or aggravate any of my dry or sensitive areas, and does a good job of helping with the dryness overnight. My skin is still a bit acne-prone, but I think its safe to say this does not break me out. I also expected this to sit on my face for a long time because it contains petroleum, but to my surprise, it absorbs pretty well and I love that because it won;t feel uncomfortable on my face. Will repurchase for sure, and is a great buy for dry and sensitive skin!
So this is my first western BB cream, and I'm quite impressed. I'd say this is somewhat comparable to some Korean BB creams (Etude House, Lioele) I have tried, coverage and finish wise that is. I bought this mostly because it claims to offer immediate hydration and soothing/calming properties. I never ever expect any product other then a moisturizer to be actually moisturizing, and the Korean BB cream (Etude House) I was using before this was actually kind of drying and the Marcelle one is not drying at all. My skin is sensitive and slightly dry on the cheeks in terms of mild eczema like irritations, and this does not cause or aggravate any existing dry patches. My forehead is slight oily, and this BB cream does not make it any more oily. My skin tone is definitely evened out and my skin looks smooth as it gives light-medium coverage with a satin-matte finish, depending on any products you put before this. I personally like an SPF in my BB cream but I can't complain too much because this is a pretty good product. Though, I find it a little odd of how this BB cream will protect my skin from premature aging and environmental stresses without any SPF. I noticed that Marcelle's BB cream has a faint sour smell which doesn't offend me but I just want to comment on that as it may bother others. Overall, I recommend, especially because its a Canadian product:). $20.96 at Real Canadian Superstore. - If this has decent staying power, I would give this a full rating. Will update on that.
BB Cream -Etude - Etude House Precious Minerals Bright Fit BB cream SPF 30
tamedDOLL 3/20/2013 11:18:00 PM
This is a decent BB cream. I use the shade W13, and although it looks like a yellow toned shade, its actually neutral. Half a pump is perfect for my whole face. The Bright Fit BB feels light on my skin and blends in OK. I think it gives light coverage, not totally sheer as stated on the product, and is also build-able towards a medium coverage with a second layer, but still is very breathable. My forehead is somewhat oily, and I do notice a bit oil control, but if you have really oily skin, the oil control won't really help you. I also feel this bb cream gives more of a natural or satin finish, rather then dewy. I do wish it was more moisturzing. It takes about 20 minutes to set in fully, and once it does, it looks pretty good. It lasts about 4-5 hours without setting it with powder. I paid ~$14CDN which isn't bad at all for 60g of product! UPDATE Apr 26 2013 So after using this bb cream almost everyday, I find that it isn't ideal for everyday use on my skin. If i use it consecutively for about a week, it dries my skin out a little and irritates it slightly. But if I use it half the time, my skin is ok. I still like intitial results it gives my skin. Changing rating to a 3, also will not repurchase.
Mascara -Eyeko - Skinny Brush Mascara (Long &Tall)

I actually quite like this mascara. I love how its jet black, and lengthens my short lashes pretty well. I'm not a huge fan of the brush, but once I figured how to use it, I don't mind it. The formula is wet, but it doesn't take forever to dry, and once it does, I am satisfied of how my lashes look. It holds a curl OK, might repurchase.
I don't like this product, but I don't hate it. It barely offers coverage. I know it has a powder finish, but it looks kind of cakey. The color selection sucks. The medium is quite orange ish.. so I can't use it much. The compact is cute though. I find it works best with a stippling brush.
This cleanser is really nice. It's gentle like its says, and leaves my face clean. It also takes my makeup right off, even mascara. Pricey though!
Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15

This is a nice product. It moisturizes my lips well, and feels good on the lips. The scent doesn't bother me personally. However, this balm is quite melty, so it's hard to take it on the go. Overall a good product, but I don't think it's worth paying ~$22 for 4.2g?(I think).
This mascara is not bad. The best thing about it is the brush. The tip of the brush makes it really easy for me to bring and flare out my outer lashes. The formula is a little more wet than what I'm used to, but it dries nicely so it works. However I find this smudges a little, and I can't stand mascara that smudges.
Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Rose Lip Treatment SPF 15

This is a really nice product. The tint is so natural and moisturizing. My only complaint: how soft and melty it is, so it's really hard to have it on the go. I would repurchase, but this is expensive!
I like the product, but mostly in the winter time. It has OKcleansing power, depending on when you use it, but it really helps with adding back moisture to my hair in the winter time! I have repurchased many times.
WOW! I was so scared this would break me out, but i desperately wanted something to help lighten my acne scars around the cheek area, where I get pimples that last a long time, and scar the worst. After about a week, I notice my scars lighten. However I found it only works if you massage the oil into the skin a little bit. I also used this on a patch of dry skin and slight eczema on top of my cheeks, and after one night of use, the texture has improved. Overall I really feel vitamin E Oil revitalizes my skin, best of all NO BREAKOUTS!
Moisturizers -Garnier - Moisture Rescue Lightweight UV Lotion SPF 15
tamedDOLL 1/27/2013 12:36:00 AM
This is a decent moisturizer but for it does not provide enough moisture for my slightly dry areas. It's definitely lightweight. I wouldn't say my skin is 'deeply hydrated' as claimed though, so I could see this as a great moisturizer for the summer time. I might repurchase for the summer, but other then that, I wouldn't. No breakouts, and no irritation :).
Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Hask- Macadamia Oil Revitalizing Shine Treatment
tamedDOLL 1/21/2013 3:54:00 PM
This product makes my ends smooth, and most importantly, it does not leave a oily residue. I prefer the Argan oil version because of the stronger scent in this one, and also the added keratin for smoothness. I love tasting vanilla, but I don't like smelling in products. I personally don't mind the packaging, but I wish it came in a bigger size.I paid $2.56CDN for the 18ml size, and won't repurchase this one because of the other version.
Water in a can. So IT DOESN'T set your makeup people. I don't get how some say it helps with their makeup. Sure its refreshing on a hot day, but it is way overpriced.
Love the packaging! Blush is definitely natural, and looks great.
