Treatments (Eye) -Kiehls - Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado

I have an incredibly dry undereye area (not to mention the rest of my face!), and after being told off by a lady at the makeup counter for neglecting my skincare regime to the point that I had flakey skin on my face and undereyes (which is true, I admitted it), I decided I should get back on track and find myself some good moisturisers, particularly for my eyes! So off I went to space.nk apothecary, and had this product recommended to me. I've been using it for a little over a month now, and am very happy with it. It goes on quite creamy (and you only need a tiny amount) and quickly loosens to a thin, almost watery consistency, then goes back to a more oily texture. It doesn't slide around and go into my eyes, and while it does take a bit longer to absorb before you can put any kind of makeup over it, it certainly won't sit on your face like a heavy oil slick. I have noticed an improvement in the skin under my eyes, and it works very well for me as a night treatment!

Cleansers -Shu Uemura - White Recovery EX+ Brightening Cleansing Oil
rated 5 of 5

My HG of facial cleansers. After my first bottle of this (which lasted over a year and a half), I have never used anything else. It removes the most stubborn waterproof mascara and eyeliner easily, and upon regular use leaves my skin clear, soft, and glowing. The packaging is simple and appealling, and the pump is incredibly handy. I only ever use 1-2 pumps per cleanse. I will never use anything else!

Lipstick -MAC - Russian Red

MAC's Russian Red is a really good classic red for me. It has a good matte texture and can be worn dabbed on for a dash of colour or built up to be a really beautiful red.

Lipstick -MAC - Vegas Volt

Lovely, lovely coral lipstick. I'm not really one to be intimidated by bright or highly pigmented colours (in fact they're the ones I zero in on at the makeup counters), and when I saw Vegas Volt I knew I had to have it!!! I don't regret buying it for a second. It goes on really nice and creamy, and the colour payoff is excellent. Really lovely colour for spring and/or summer.

Mascara -NARS - Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara
rated 4 of 5

I'm on my third tube of this mascara. It certainly isn't my HG, but since I'm not bothered to go looking for one right now it will do just fine. Before moving over to the UK, I lived in Hong Kong where it is incredibly humid and hot, particularly in the spring and summer seasons. I tried a good number of mascaras in hopes of finding one that wouldn't smudge and still hold a curl (all pitfalls of Southeast Asian climate). I tried Diorshow, Lancome Hypnose, Great Lash, and several others (all waterproof, might I add) and all of them smudged and left me with flat lashes within 20 minutes of stepping out of the door. NARS Larger Than Life mascara is the only one that hasn't smudged on me so far. It also gives me the volume and length that I want from a mascara after a few coats. It does dry out and get a bit crumbly, as others have mentioned, but it hasn't caused any major problems for me to be honest. Until I find a better mascara, I am happy to stick with this one for now.

Liquid -NARS - Balanced Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5

Most of my makeup bag is NARS products. I think that they do colour very well, and their foundations are no exception. They have a wide range of colours available, which makes me very very happy because I can't always find the right shade for my super pale, yellow-undertone Asian skin. I got this foundation in Fiji, which suits my skin very well when it is first applied, but I noticed that it dried a touch darker. I would say that this is medium to heavy coverage (when built up), and as I don't wear foundation very much I could feel it on my skin constantly. Having said that, if you are looking for good coverage, this foundation would do it very well. It didn't slip or get patchy even after a long night of dancing (and sweating!), and looks absolutely amazing in pictures. This is the foundation I use when I want a little heavier coverage than normal.

Lips -NARS - Lip Stain Gloss in Indian Red
rated 5 of 5
talullabelle 11/29/2010 10:26:00 PM

This lip stain is the love of my life. I started using it two years ago and I am still completely enamoured with the colour and the intensity of its pigmentation when it is worn. It also lives up to its product description as a lip stain: I can eat and drink with this and barely have to reapply. It's actually quite difficult to get off at the end of the night! If I had to wear one colour/lip product for the rest of my life, this would be it! The only downside is that it can be a bit drying, given that it is a lip stain, but if you use a lip conditioner beforehand there is no problem at all.
