I was pretty disappointed with this lipstick. The tester at the store was a really nice, seemingly pigmented lipstick but the one I bought wasn't at all. It had a grainy texture and wasn't smooth. It was basically like rubbing a lipstick with granules stuck embedded in the top of the lipstick and gave no color pay off! I'm not sure why it's like that but this was definitely a dud. I might try some other Rimmel lipsticks but I will not repurchase this particular shade.
I've finally found my HG gel liner and it's only $4 CAD! I've tried quite a few gel liners, Maybelline, Physician's Formula, MAC, Smashbox, Coastal Scents, E.L.F... they were all good, but had their flaws. This Essence one is seriously a million times better than any other gel liner out there and it's so affordable. CONS: - rich, creamy texture - incredibly pigmented - does not smudge or transfer once dry - does not flake at all - glides on smoothly In my opinion, there are absolutely no cons with this product. If you don't own this, give it a try. Stop throwing your money away on expensive gel liners and save it for other goodies. :)

Overall I quite like this cleanser. It's a very basic foaming cleanser that can be used on your face and body. The formulation is mild, while it does have a fragrance it is nothing over powering or strong. Some individuals might not like the way it smells, but I got used to it. It's definitely not fruity, it's hard to describe. I use this at night to wash my eyes after I've removed my waterproof makeup with a makeup remover. I use a separate cleanser for my entire face at night and use this to cleanse my whole face in the morning when I don't need any heavy duty cleaning. It does a good job at cleansing and my skin never feels "stripped" of moisture. At $23 CAD for 500ml, this will last me a very long time considering I will only use it on my face. This is a great buy and I will definitely repurchase when I run out.
I loved this at first. It was a near dupe to MAC eyebrow pencils at a fraction of the cost. It's slightly more waxier, but definitely still a good pencil. However, there is a problem with it: the packaging. I had it for a week and then it broke and was completely useless and I had to toss it! First, it became difficult to twist up, then a piece from the twisting mechanism broke off and when I tried to put it back in place, it fell again and again. I ended up throwing that piece out, fine whatever it still twisted product up. I later found out this piece was holding the product in and, to my dismay, the product fell out and thus was garbage. Good product, terrible packaging. :( I will not repurchase unless they change the packaging.

Creating product with ingredient list will review later :)
I am actually quite impressed with this growth serum. Considering the results I've had, I can definitely compare it to Rapid Lash -- for a fraction of the cost! Now, let me explain. From my experience, Rapid Lash (and this product too) boost the growth cycle of your natural lashes and stimulate/encourage new hairs to grow from the follicle. Each hair follicle on your lash line can have as many as three hairs growing out of it at once, but unfortunately they fall out once their cycle ends and sometimes do not grow back. This is where a boosting serum helps. It allows a new hair to grow in replacement of the old one. Which is why some people may experience eyelash loss when using this product. The serum is encouraging a new lash growth, therefore the old lash will fall out. To some it may be scary, but it is normal. You just have to be patient for it to grow back. PRODUCT CONS: Rapid Lash and this product will NOT give you the ridiculously long lashes that Latisse will give you. Latisse is different because it makes your lashes grow more quickly therefore making them grow longer. But, it does have its cons, like hair growth in unwanted areas and darkening of the skin around the eyes and of the iris. The only cons from this product is the peeling or flaking that other reviews mentioned. To me it's not really a problem since I use this at night time and maybe on days when I go without eye makeup. There is sometimes a bit of a tingly sensation when I apply this but it never lasts long and it isn't uncomfortable in my opinion.
Cleansers -Yes To Carrots - Yes To Cucumbers Face Cleanser Towelettes

I've tried many different face wipes/towelettes. I wouldn't say these are the best, but they are far better than any of the other ones I have tried. MAC's wipes are too thin and scratchy, they made me break out and cost way too much for a product that didn't "wow" me in any way. I had the same scratchy problem with the ones from Ponds, not to mention the disgusting perfume scent. For a while I was using the ones from E.LF. and I did like them but I found they left my skin feeling too dry afterwards. I'd like to point out that I remove my eye makeup first, then use a cleansing towelette to remove my face makeup, and then finally I wash my face at my bathroom sink. So for me, I am only looking for a product that will remove my foundation, concealer, and face powders, as well as the oily residue my eye makeup remover leaves behind. I've found these wipes are the softest I've ever felt. They feel absolutely amazing on my skin, like I am rubbing silk on my face. The smell is nice too, it's not perfumey and feels very "fresh". They do however, sting the face a little bit. This is a big con, but for me, the fact that they are so soft and do not make my skin feel tight at all is what makes me go back to them. PROS: - incredibly soft feeling - smells lovely - great packaging, these won't dry out with the tight seal! - removes foundation very well - doesn't make the skin feel tight - doesn't leave a residue after use CONS: - burns slightly for a few minutes during and after use - doesn't remove waterproof eye makeup effectively - leaves behind specs of glitter from my highlighter If you're like me and you remove your eye makeup separately and wash your face after you use it, you'll probably love these too (providing you can look past the burning sensation). If you're looking for wipes that remove everything so you can skip the cleanser and eye makeup remover these aren't for you.
I have never tried a product quite like this before but it's like a miracle in a bottle. There are dozens of uses for it! My only complaint is the little "mixing" cup it comes with. I wish that it screwed on top of the bottle so it wouldn't be easy to lose, but oh well. On to the product... I have been mixing this with my eyebrow powder to get it to last longer and it truly does. I have so much love for this product because it's also a money saver. I've added a drop into my drying up gel liners. It has completely restored them to new! I hear you can use this to seal your eyeliner, shadow, lipsticks, blush, brow color and probably more...I mean the possibilities are endless and it's only $3. I will repurchase without a doubt.
Misc Beauty Tools -Quo - Quo - Single Pencil Sharpener

This is a review for the dual chamber sharpener, however I've only used the small side. I was going to buy the Urban Decay sharpener but since this one is easier for me to get, I bought this instead. It is a really great sharpener and it's only a few dollars. The blade is incredibly sharp and doesn't break my pencils at all, it sharpens them very smoothly. I recommend this and will repurchase if I ever need to.
I never gave much thought into what type of cotton I buy for nail and skin care because I assumed that all cotton pads were created equal. This is very untrue and if you try these cotton pads out, you'd understand why. I was purchasing cheapie cotton pads from the dollar store plowing through them because they were absorbing all the product and once the dirt built up on the pad I'd have to reach for another piece. Shiseido Facial Cotton is unique because it does not absorb all the product and once you use it, it expands and stretches out, revealing more usable cotton. While $8 is a bit of a splurge for something that ends up in the trash, it is definitely worth it in the end because you end up using less and it is just so incredibly soft and not at all rough on the skin. I will definitely repurchase. :)
Top/Base Coats -Nailtek - Foundation II - Ridge-filling
takemenow 1/20/2012 10:55:00 PM
This is a great base coat. But... I suspect that it has caused me an unsightly case of the peelies. I bought this in November and had been using it for about a month with great results until nearly all my nails started peeling pretty badly. I do everything I can to prevent peeling and make sure I seal the free edge of the nail every time I file so I know that it's not from filing incorrectly. The only other thing it could be is this stuff, which coincidentally has been accused of causing peelies in the past. However, it does what it says it does and that is form a smooth foundation for nail color application. And as a bonus, prevents chipping! So if you're looking for a good base coat that doubles as a matte top coat and are daring to see if it will cause damage to your nails, then by all means give it a go. If it turns out to make your nails peel, you can always just use it as a matte TC instead :)
I have this in a 100ML tube. It's honestly saved my dry hands this winter. It's not too greasy and absorbs pretty quickly. I have the unscented version, but I still can detect a little bit of fragrance but it's actually very nice and mild. On the package it says it provides an immediate 250% moisturization boost. I usually laugh at the claims companies come up with to sell their product, but this I actually believe. In the winter, I get dry, cracked skin on the backs on my hands and most lotions just burn and sting these cracks and don't help me at all. This stuff soothes it and makes my hands feel soft again. I definitely recommend and I will keep repurchasing time and time again. LOVE!
Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel Comet Eau De Toilette Refillable Spray
takemenow 11/30/2011 3:31:00 AM
Fragrance is such a personal thing so this obviously won't be for everyone. I think this is a very wearable scent for myself. It's great for the daytime when worn lightly, or a perfect pair to a little black dress at night when sprayed more heavily. Like the previous reviewer mentioned, the original Angel is incredibly strong and is worn mostly by mature women and is not for the faint at heart. The bottle is gorgeous and is meant to be displayed on your dressing table. The magnetic lid is genius and I am in love with how the bottle fits into the palm of my hand. The fact that it is refillable and you can save at least $30 by doing so is both handy and not wasteful. I will definitely repurchase.
I have not been able to find a use for this brush yet. It's far too prickly to use to stipple foundation on and the flat surface makes it very odd to apply powder all over the face. I would like to point out, however, that E.L.F.'s quality control for their brushes is not that great. I own two of their stippling brushes and one is flimsy and hardly dense at all, while the other one is the exact opposite. For $3 it's worth a shot, I guess but I won't be repurchasing even given the chance that my second one could be better.
Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Megalast Matte 916D Ravin' Raisin
takemenow 11/21/2011 7:18:00 PM
This is a great vampy lipstick for my fair skin. I love the way it looks and I don't find it drying like most matte lipsticks. It's surprisingly quite moisturizing! It has average wear time, but definitely needs less touch ups than creamy lipsticks. PROS: - great color selection - semi moisturizing formula - relatively long wearing - does not feather - super affordable CONS: - packaging does not say the color name - shape of lipstick is very round and not easy to apply directly - clear cover is easily lost if dropped - product does not retract completely into package and gets messy All in all I would repurchase and definitely recommend if you can look past the cons. :)
