Great product. Feels tingly and smells good. Dries to tell you it is done. Leaves skin looking less red and more "refreshed". Happy with this product.

Powders -Cover Girl - Pocket Powder

Pretty decent basic everyday powder. Gets rid of shine, blends well, and sets makeup. Not much more I could ask for. However, I'm not sure this stuff will cut it in the more oily summer months. I guess we will see.

Foundations -Wet 'n' Wild - Ultimate Cover smooth foundation

So pleased with this! The coverage is good. Concealer isn't necessary--which is really a big deal for me to say, because I have frequent blemishes. The blending is natural. They aren't lying when they say SMOOTH. The color (I bought honee) is PERFECT. I have fairly hard to match Asian skin and have been using the more pricey Loreal's True Match to match it. I don't have to anymore, because this color is great. The overall look is GREAT. The only two things I have to say against it (and these aren't too big of deals) are... the smell is kind of funky (kind of like melon???) and the bottle is hard to get product out of. Just keep shaking. ;-)

Concealers -New York Color - Cover Stick in Medium

HORRIBLE stuff. It is dry and hard to apply because of its dryness. The coverage is shotty, although the color does match me pretty well (probably because it doesn't show up, as discoloration still shows right through). Yes this is cheap, but I'm pretty sure it isn't makeup--it is evil. Ick.

Treatments -Clearasil - Clearasil Ultra
rated 5 of 5

I have been battling acne for YEARS. I finally won the battle by going to the dermatologist and getting put on pills and tazorac. My insurance finally ran out so I could no longer afford this regimine. Well, anyway, the acne came back (UGGGH...) so I decided to browse over-the-counter treatments (half-heartedly, since nothing has EVER worked before). Well, I have very happy news. THIS STUFF WORKS and FAST! I am so happy with the results! In three days all my raised bumps were GONE. All I did was wash my face and put on the acne treatment cream (in vanishing) 3x a day--after waking up in the moring, in the afternoon, and before bed. This sounds like a pain, but is worth it for the results. The only thing better about $99 prescription tazorac is the fact that tazorac worked to make discoloration disappear. This stuff doesn't seem to make much of an affect (although there is some) on discoloration. However, I will keep on the regimine and see if the discoloration clears up with time.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Schick Intuition razor
rated 2 of 5
taiwan_beauty 6/20/2005 11:23:00 PM

Terrible product. The razor is good, but the big, chunky block of shaving cream/gel (whatever it is supposed to be) keeps it from shaving close or well. You have to rinse for a long time to get the hair out of the razor blades--which washes away the shaving cream/gel. The stuff doesn't lather, just sort of gives you a weird film layer to shave on. I don't get any nicks with the razor, but that is because the razor barely contacts the skin close enough to shave. Hair grows back in so fast, and you have to shave again! My skin is left feeling smooth, but I suspect it is leftover film from the shaving gel/cream--not a close shave. To sum this up this is an awkward product. Though it is quite expensive compared to other razors, the manufacturing is so shotty. Changing the blade is not effortless and putting the cap on usually chips away at the shaving product. The only reason I am giving it a two, instead of a one, is the fact that the idea of having a razor and shaving product in one is quite innovative. If you are traveling for a short period of time and are trying to pack light--really light--then you might pay the extra money for this razor and put up with it for a few days. I would just invest in a small can of travel shave gel though.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - No-Ad Tanning Glitter Gel
rated 3 of 5
taiwan_beauty 6/20/2005 10:19:00 PM

I tan fairly easily so I'm not sure if my tan was a result of this product or not. However, I don't believe this gives a "deeper" or "darker" tan. I still love this product, because of the smell and look. It smells like citrus--which is energizing and childlike. The glitter is a little flashy, but it'll get you some attention at the pool or the beach. :) The only complaint I have, the glitter kind of hurts when I rub it on evenly. It's not unbearable though. I wish this would have done the job of faster, deeper, and darker tanning, but if I ever run out (which I won't with such a big bottle), I would probably repurchase for the glitter look alone.

Other -Crest - Whitestrips Premium
rated 2 of 5
taiwan_beauty 6/20/2005 3:50:00 PM

The first thing I have to say about the product is the fact that it is VERY painful. On Day 4, it was so bad I could feel throbbing in my teeth. I skipped a day, tried Day 5, but still couldn't take it. I had to quit. I don't know if it happens to everyone, but I have a moderately high pain tolerance and couldn't take the torture. However, even though I only made it to Day 4, I already saw visible results. My friends did too. They commented that my teeth were bright and white. I didn't even tell them I was using the whitestrips. The results did not last very long--four months. You can't rely on my results though--since I quit on Day 4. Last of all, the strips were too small. I have a wide smile, but I can't imagine anyone with a smile small enough to be covered with this strip. I had about a tooth and a half on each side that is exposed on the side when I smile big. I like the results of this product, but it is very painful. It's also a little bit expensive so I suggest that if you start--go through with it--even if you want to die of pain.

Treatments -Garnier - Fructis Fortifying Deep Conditioner 3 Minute Masque
rated 4 of 5
taiwan_beauty 6/20/2005 3:13:00 PM

I like this stuff. It is fairly cheap and smells wonderfully. Best of all, it makes your hair impossibly soft. I could use a little more shine, but it definitely does improve your hair's shine. I'm not sure if my hair feels healthier, but it looks great. :) The only thing I have to gripe about is the container. It is small--just a few treatments for someone with long hair. It is also DIFFICULT to get product out of the side. Grrr...

This stuff is cheap, but it doesn't work. It works worse than regular conditioners though it is supposed to be a treatment. Pay a little more for something that works--at all.

Conditioner -Suave - Daily Clarifying Conditioner
rated 2 of 5
taiwan_beauty 6/20/2005 3:08:00 PM

I'm using this in the summer when I don't really need conditioner. Otherwise, this product would get a one lippie from me. It doesn't make much of a difference on me. A little bit, but combined with the miserable shampoo I need a lot more conditioner. I would not buy this again.

I hate this stuff! It dries out my hair and makes it stringy. The smell is okay, but I like my shampoo to smell better than just okay. I bought this, because it is a big bottle, and I'm trying to cut back on spending. Big mistake! I would rather spend a little more for a lot better.

Self Tanners -Jergens - Natural Glow - Medium
rated 4 of 5
taiwan_beauty 6/20/2005 2:44:00 PM

All in all--great product. The color I received was very natural looking, but too light for my taste. However, I am Asian, and the color I am looking for is probably darker than what most people want. The color also fades very fast--two days or so--you have to keep applying to maintain color. My biggest complaint about this product is the fact that it SMELLS like crazy. I'm used to lotions that smell delicate, flowery, or sexy--not like burnt chemicals. I'm also not sure about the mosturizing effect of this lotion. It felt quite sticky and uncomfortable, but it does soak in after 15 minutes or so. My biggest compliment about this product--IT DOESN'T LOOK ORANGE! YAY! :)

Foundations -Maybelline - Dream Matte Mousse
rated 4 of 5
taiwan_beauty 8/31/2004 4:17:00 PM

I <3 this stuff! It gives me a nice matte finish and it blends well with my Asian skin. I have some discoloration on my skin from acne, but the coverage of this stuff is actually enough to cover it up. I don't have to use a separate concealer. I'm not crazy about concealer, it usually looks too unnatural for my skintone. It was only $4.99 at the CVS when I bought it too. And I had a $1.00 off any Maybelline foundation coupon. ;)

Misc Beauty Tools -Clean & Clear - Oil Absorbing Sheets
rated 5 of 5
taiwan_beauty 7/5/2004 8:39:00 PM

These actually work pretty great. They are cheap and effective. I also like that they do the job without messy powder. Blotting sheets with powder make me look washed out. There's no reason to go out and buy other expensive products, because this does the job.
