Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17

I have combination skin. Oily T-zone and the rest of my face tends to be dry. I usually just use moisturizer and a translucent mineral powder, and some blotting sheets to control my oiliness. However, I decided to try foundation again since I haven't used it in years. I bought this one since I was in a rush and it is a perfect match for my skin (sand beige w5). I still use moisturizer in my dry areas before applying this, but this foundation is so greasy! Even after using 3 oilblotting papers my skin still looks shiny and gross. I also don't like that the foundation is shimmery. The only place it does cake up - under my eyes, which I moisturize religiously. I'm going to use the rest of the bottle, but never again will I buy this!

Powder -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Loose Powder
sweetoblivion 3/16/2010 5:25:00 PM
I've been using this for a while and at first didn't really like it. I got buff beige, which was totally the wrong color for my skin. I got the natural beige this time and it's amazing. I use the buff beige under my eyes, then use the natural on top. It's pretty translucent but I have blemishes and they seem to cover up well. The only complaint I have about this product is the packaging. I don't know what they were thinking with this design, and the brush is horrible as well. Because of this packaging issue I can't yet take the powder out with me.

Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Pure Ice - Taupe Drawer
sweetoblivion 3/26/2009 12:27:00 AM
For some reason, this polish does not want to dry. I tried 2 Pure Ice polishes and even with just one coat it refused to dry after 5 minutes. Maybe I just got an old one or something. I'll give it another go because it is a nice color.

Clothes -Victoria's Secret - General Opinion

I have personally never bought a VS brand bra (I bought a balconet bra from Intissimi once) because I'm flat as a board, and not only that but I think prices are ridiculous. Panties are too huge for my little behind. I understand that these are women's sizes, but I'm 21 and small, so I don't understand why they can't accommodate EVERY body size. Not all of us are Adriana Lima you know. On the other hand, I love going to retailmenot.com and looking for codes. I bought a bunch of cheap stuff over the winter, and they were pretty nice for the prices that I paid. Tank tops are true to size. Overall I love their swimsuits, although I find that some are cheaper quality so I definitely would never pay full price for them. My only complaints are the bra/panty sizes (what about us small girls?), the colors they advertise sometimes are not representative of what they really look like, and shipping prices. I've never really extensively shopped at a VS store (I find that I can find cheaper and more stuff online) but for the most part the "sales associates" (haha, I make them sound more educated than they truly are) to be ok. There are a few that are quite snobbish and I just wonder what's up their butts.

Fragrances -Chanel - Chance

Smelled good in the magazine, but it just did not go well with my body chemistry I suppose. It makes my eyes water and makes me sneeze.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub
sweetoblivion 3/20/2009 12:55:00 AM
I use this every morning in the shower. Works great. I usually get really dry skin but it keeps my skin exfoliated very well. The only problem I have with it is sometimes it doesn't get all the dry spots, but overall a great product.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Combination Skin Moisture Oil Free
sweetoblivion 3/20/2009 12:52:00 AM
Definitely lives up to it's "oil free" name in that it's like splashing water onto your face. I was still left with dry spots after applying this stuff. My skin feels tight after using it, which to me means that it's still dry. It doesn't keep my skin from getting oily throughout the day. Will not repurchase.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion

Everyone says that it made their skin greasy, but this stuff actually dried my skin out. It's like a film of water on the skin. Besides just drying my skin out it also irritated my face at times to the point where it was itchy.

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System
sweetoblivion 3/20/2009 12:46:00 AM
Mediocre at best. I had really bad acne back in the day (which included cystic pimples) and it helped get rid of pimples I already had, but definitely did NOT do anything preventative. Keep in mind though that I only used this at night. What I do recommend is University Medical's AcneFree. It's $20 and you can find it at Walmart/Target/Walgreens from what I have seen, and it contains more benzoyl peroxide than Proactiv. I also use this only at night but it works very well in both getting rid of the pimples I get (very rarely now) and preventing them from coming. I use St. Ives apricot scrub in the morning and that along with the AcneFree at night is very good at keeping pimples away.

Pressed Powders -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Mineral Face Powder
sweetoblivion 3/20/2009 12:37:00 AM
I love this stuff. It's cheap and the package lasts a while. It blends decently and covers blemishes pretty well, as long as the blemish is not extremely dark or flaky. I find that it does make my skin look sort of dry, and definitely accentuates flakiness if my skin is already flaky, but it's expected. I've never used any kind of powder that doesn't do that. The only thing I don't like about it is that it takes about an hour or two and my face looks oily again. Took away a lippy for a crappy brush and stupid design (the mirror is under the powder - huge pain to keep flipping from powder to mirror).

Pressed Powders -Physicians Formula - Organic Wear Pressed Powder

Absolute crap. No coverage whatsoever. The only thing it's good for is removing shine. Not to mention it smells like drool. At first I thought that I hadn't washed my brush well enough the night before (sometimes brushes get a weird smell when not all the product is removed during washing) but it really is the powder as I have come to find from reading others' reviews. Complete waste of money.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
sweetoblivion 11/16/2008 4:06:00 PM
This is my go-to mascara (in blackest black). Every other kind that I buy I'm always disappointed, but this is the one that I can always count on. I have to admit that when you first open it, it's a little too wet and barely does anything. After a few times using it though (and the consistency seems to dry out a tiny bit), it's absolutely perfect. I'm Asian and I have short, hard to curl lashes, but applying this actually curls my lashes (without needing a curler) and keeps the curl. Not to mention that it's really cheap and I can find it packaged in two at Walmart or Target sometimes for only $4.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
sweetoblivion 11/16/2008 3:57:00 PM
I bought this because it was a good deal. Came with Maybelline eyeliner, dual eyeshadow, and makeup remover in a cute little makeup bag for only $10. I can see now why it was packaged this way, and why it's only $5. The first coat came out nice, but not thick enough. The second coat made my lashes look clumpy and brittle. It dries way too quickly! Nothing special. I didn't notice the smell too much til I read it on here. Looks like I'll be going back to Great Lash.

Treatments (Eye) -Garnier - Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller
sweetoblivion 7/29/2008 3:08:00 PM
I have really bad circles under my eyes and it did nothing. I usually don't get puffiness unless I'm lacking in sleep, but so far haven't used it to cure that yet so I don't really know. But I've been using this for 2 weeks on my dark circles and it has done absolutely nothing. What a waste of money.

Mascara -Rimmel - Volume Flash
sweetoblivion 4/13/2008 2:46:00 PM
Worst mascara I've ever used....it's even worse than Avon. Both Avon and Volume Flash have really large bristles, except Rimmel's actual mascara is clumpy and dry. That combined with a huge brush = huge globs of mascara on my lashes. I only use this stuff when I don't have any place nice to go to.
