BB Cream -MISSHA - Cho Bo Yang BB Cream
sweetdase 6/2/2013 7:10:00 PM
I bought this product off mynameiskorean.com for about $28USD with a $5 shipping and I live in Canada. I read all the good reviews on here and decided to try this product out. This is my first MISSHA product because the Signature BB cream didn't get as high of reviews. I'm Chinese and am around an NC30-35. I bought this is shade No. 2 Natural Beige and the color matches me well. I actually like the packaging and the tube spout is thinner than most tube spouts. I can squirt a good amount out as sometimes, with different BB creams and different textures, sometimes you need more than others. I don't need to use too much with this one as a little goes a long way. The texture is smooth and a little thick which is good for coverage and smoothing it out on the face. I squirt some onto my finger and then dot it evenly on my index, middle and ring fingers (both hands) and distribute it by dotting around my face and then patting it in so it provides a more even coverage. My skin has not reacted to this BB cream and I don't notice any smell, at least that didn't throw me off. Unfortunately, I don't think this BB cream has any English written on it so you need to find a website that tells you which shade you're buying and remember which shade you bought. I wrote mine on a sticky note and also can refer to emails. Overall, I would repurchase this BB cream if I ran out providing I don't go out and try other BB creams (which probably won't happen ;))

Eye Makeup Remover -Make Up For Ever - Sens Eyes
sweetdase 6/2/2013 6:50:00 PM
I got this as a sample when I went to Sephora as my friend uses it and said it takes off really difficult to remove mascara (i.e. Japanese mascara's). Instead of buying the full bottle to try it, I asked a sales rep for a sample of it. Now, I honestly have to say that this is probably one or the best mascara/eye makeup remover I've ever tried, literally. And I have tried a few and still currently use the Clean & Clear eye makeup remover (which is the dual action one where you have to shake it). At first, I tried using a cotton pad and putting it over my eyes, but I figured that the cotton pad actually absorbs most of it rather the product being on my eyes. So I put some on my fingers instead and applied to my eyes and rubbed gently. Who would've thought! This Sh*t works! It actually removed my waterproof mascara without pulling my lashes out or anything like that and the product is creamy so smoothing it around the eye is a breeze. NOW, the only downside to this product, like other reviewers said, is that it stings when it gets in your eyes! And it's supposedly made for sensitive eyes! That was the downfall to this product. The product works great, but the sting associated with it is not pleasant at all. Lucky to those reviewers who said it didn't sting. They got high eye (pain?) tolerance! I mean, I know we gals (and some guys) don't purposely put the remover into our eyes, but it's bound to get in somehow some way. Hence, I took off a lippy. Now, I'm not sure if I'd buy this, maybe continously take samples from Sephora to use it because it does work awesome. I'll still be on the search for a HG eye make up remover but for those who are thinking of this product, go get a sample from Sephora and try it out first. This product could be good for those whose eyes are 'not so sensitive'.

Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Pro Precision Powder Brush #59
sweetdase 3/21/2013 12:39:00 AM
I bought this brush based on FrmHeadToToe on YouTube. She mentioned how great this powder brush is and how soft it is and since I was in need of a powder brush and looking for one that had natural bristles, I decided to splurge and spend the $49 CAD to buy this brush. Unfortunately, this brush did not live up to its price. $49 is a hefty price for a makeup brush! The packaging I have to say is pretty awesome. The bristles are covered with a hard plastic cap to protect it and on top of it, it is secured with the plastic that you peel off to 'open' it. The brush itself is very soft and feels nice on the face. I like that it is natural bristle. However, when I washed it, it started to smell, like mothballs and or really bad breath! The product is made in China and being that I'm Chinese, I am VERY familiar with the smell of mothballs and am very not fond of that smell. When I was washing the bristles, the bad breath smell expelled into the air and it stank. Upon smelling the brush while cleaning it, I wanted to throw up. After cleaning the brush, the smell still lingered. In addition to the smell, the bristles shed like crazy! I had at least 20 strands come out while washing, literally. So with the shedding and smell altogether, I would not repurchase. I'm going to attempt to use this brush a few more times and if the smell persists and shedding continues, I will return it back to Sephora. Not very impressed with the brush I bought.

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - Travel Kit - Mrs. Bunny
sweetdase 3/21/2013 12:05:00 AM
After hearing all the rave about Sigma brushes, I thought buying a travel kit would be the best way to experience using many Sigma brushes. The Mrs. Bunny travel kit has such pretty colors to it and would definitely choose the colors again. However, I would not repurchase this product. The brushes are not terrible, but for the hype and price that I paid, I thought the brushes would be a bit more higher quality. I found that the blush brush and the large powder brush were a bit scratchy when applying. They feel soft to the hands but when they're on the face, it doesn't feel as soft. I don't really use the flat foundation brush so in some way, I wish it could've been a "build your own travel kit". The eye shadow brushes are quite good. The brushes are dense so it picks up enough eye shadow during application. The packaging is quite nice as well. Comes in the travel kit package and each brush is covered with plastic so the brush/bristles don't bend, which is nice. Although the travel tube is nice, I find it to be quite bulky to travel with, so I would take out the brushes and put them in a makeup bag rather than using the compartment it comes with.

BB Cream -Skin79 - Super+ BB Cream Pink Label
sweetdase 3/11/2013 10:42:00 PM
To be honest, I've been using the fake one for the longest time but didn't know until recently, when I bought a real one. My sis had the pink label and I've been using it ever since and realized afterwards that it was the fake packaging. Nonetheless, the real and fake apply quite similarly, just a slight difference in texture in that the real one is more smooth. Honestly, I'm probably an NC 25-35 (depending on the year) and I think this bb cream blends in well with my skin. I think many people forget that this bb cream has to oxidize in order for it to match the skin so when it does, it does not leave my face with a grey cast. The texture is quite smooth and it comes in a pump form which is good for hygienic reasons. However, it is not very compact for traveling so I would not travel with it but rather take another bb cream instead as it's quite bulky. I don't notice any smell to it either which is good for people who have sensitivity to fragrance. When I use this bb cream, I don't pump an entire pump out; I probably only pump half of it as half already covers my face well. It doesn't provide full coverage, more like light to medium. So if there's any redness or imperfections that need to be covered up, a concealer is probably recommended. I find that if I apply a full pump, I feel my face gets heavy and bit cakey. It does give a dewy look which some people may or may not like. I apply a setting powder on top of it to help mattify it a bit and to help it stay on the day longer and absorb oil. It doesn't feel sticky after applying and would blend well if people wear cream blushes or what not. Overall, I think this is a good bb cream and would recommend it. I'll always be purchasing bb creams to test out different products so not a HG yet for me! But it's always nice to have one on hand :)

Highlighters -TheBalm - Mary-Lou Manizer
sweetdase 3/11/2013 12:59:00 AM
I bought this product a while ago based on a youtuber (don't even remember who since I watch so many) and thought this was a pretty good highlighter. I bought mine at London Drugs in Canada. I have not used this as an eyeshadow as some people have but it would give a really nice shimmer and nice overall eyeshadow color. As a highlighter, it is quite pigmented so a light hand is needed when dabbing a brush in it. I apply this above my cheekbones and it gives a very soft subtle highlight to the face without the face looking oily because of it's shimmer. However, I could see how girls with fine lines or oily face may find that this may accentuate their oiliness or wrinkles because of the shimmer, so keep in mind when applying. Overall, I think this is a good highlighter. Would most likely repurchase this if I wasn't out buying everything else that's new on the market lol.

Palettes -Urban Decay - Naked Basics
sweetdase 3/6/2013 1:49:00 PM
I actually really like this palette. I really like wearing neutral colors, especially for an every day look such as going to work. I'm a nurse so I can't be wearing shimmers or shiny make up so having this neutral palette is pretty awesome. They blend in well together and I really like the size. It's smaller than my iPhone 4 so it makes travelling handy. The colors are also good for blending and even though some people may complain that you can't really see the colors, I find it helps cover the veins on my lids if I decide not to wear anything that day but just want to even out the lid skin. I'd repurchase it if by the time I finish using the palette, it would still be available :P

Powder -Tarte - Smooth Operator Micronized Clay Finishing Powder
sweetdase 3/5/2013 1:06:00 AM
I bought this product based on FrmHeadToToe's rave about this. The powder is white and is very fine with no scent to it. I usually apply it over my foundation, bb cream, or mineral foundation as a finishing powder and to absorb oil throughout the day. It hasn't broke me out which is good. I've probably been using it for half a year now or so and I quite like it. I'm Asian skin tone around NC30-35 and it works well for me. However, I can notice that if you apply too much, it'll make your face white and may not be too suitable for darker skin tones or people who are pale in general as it would be make you look more pale. Overall, I think this is a good finishing powder on top of foundations. I like that the packaging has a small hole in the middle, enough to dump out a good amount into the lid to use each time. Unlike other the Mineral Veil for Bare Minerals which has an excessive amount of holes and you end up dumping out too much per time that you need to put some back in to the jar. The powder is fine that enough dumps out but if there's too many holes, then there's too much product coming out. Overall, this is a good finishing powder and would most likely repurchase, but my desire to try new products is overwhelming :)

Treatments (Eye) -Unlisted Brand - The Emu Oil Well Moisturising Eye Cream
sweetdase 3/4/2013 10:53:00 PM
I bought this product at www.feelunique.com which is a UK based company that offers free shipping world wide. I saw the reviews on their website and a lot of people said the eye cream was good but when in doubt, read reviews on MUA! Even though there's only 6 reviews before me, I decided to give this eye cream a try since I wanted a new eye cream. I was previously using Jeune D'Age moisturising eye cream but for some reason, felt that my vision got blurry with it and was probably because it was going into my eye. But with this emu oil well eye cream, I find that it moisturizes very nicely and my vision does not get blurry at all. And actually, in combination with using the regular emu face cream (Kalaya Naturals brand), my face and my eyes haven't looked better! The dark circles under my eyes aren't as dark as it used to be, and mind you, the dark circles under my eyes were so bad that my friend told me to use concealer during the day! My eyes feel moisturized and the cream is not thick or heavy at all and absorbs fairly quick after applying even though it is an "oil." The cream is very smooth and is a good eye cream. The only downside is that it is in a jar so it's not hygienic, but for the price you pay and the amount you get in the jar, I'd still repurchase considering it actually works. A little goes a long way so even though it's in a jar, I'll be using it for quite a while. I'd definitely repurchase after I finish using this. Highly recommended for someone who is in need of a good eye cream.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Bad to the Bronze / on and on bronze
sweetdase 3/4/2013 10:22:00 PM
I've worn this eye shadow many times and it's probably one of my quick go-to eye shadows for just a quick application to give my eyes some color. I really like the hint of shimmer to it that gives the eye some definition and color. I really like that this cream shadow doesn't crease in my lids (since I have monolids) and can almost replace a primer. This shadow is great on its own but can also be used as a shadow base. Applying certain colors over this shadow can create a "new" color that's just as flattering. The hint of shimmer gives it a nice reflection off light and makes it look pretty :) Would repurchase but since there's so much product in the pot, I probably won't even be able to use it up quick enough!

Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15
sweetdase 2/18/2013 7:46:00 PM
Like most people, I received this product as a birthday freebie from Sephora. I like how it is soft and very easy to apply as it glides very nicely. However, after applying it, I find that my lips shed too frequently and it looks a bit gross that my skin is coming off. I feel that I need to constantly wipe my lip as it continues to shed. Some people may say it's a good thing as it is exfoliating my lips, but having it peeling the majority of the day isn't my cup of tea. I'd always get the white skin on my lip which looks a bit gross. Because it keeps shedding, I feel that I need to continue re-applying it, which makes it feel like that my lips are not moisturized. I can peel my lip skin with my teeth too which is not very attractive. For a freebie, it's not bad, but would definitely not pay the price for this product.

Hair Styling Tools -Babyliss - Babyliss Pro Ceramic Super Turbo 2800
sweetdase 11/28/2012 5:26:00 PM
I've had this hair dryer for 5 years now and it's great! It's pretty strong compared to those crappy drug store hair dryers or hotel ones. The only downside is that it is heavy but the strength and power of the hair dryer is awesome. Would definitely buy again but I'm opting to buy an even stronger one next time :)

Lotions/ Creams -Palmers - Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula For Dry, Ashy Skin Lotion
sweetdase 10/29/2012 6:34:00 PM
I love this product. I bought many Palmers products based on all the positive reviews they've been receiving and I have to admit, Palmers is a pretty good brand for cheap. I use this body lotion after showering and it is very hydrating to the skin! When I shower again, I can feel the lotion still on me and have to wash it off again. It keeps my skin soft and non greasy. Where I live, it is very dry so my skin because flaky and ashy, so this lotion helps a lot! Would definitely repurchase at a cheap price and would definitely recommend as well. I love the pump style packaging as it makes it so much easier to apply after showering too!

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Summer Fruit
sweetdase 10/29/2012 6:27:00 PM
After hearing all the great things about the EOS lip balms, I bought one and realized, this wasn't great and didn't work for me at all. First of all, it's not smooth and is definitely not moisturizing. I felt like I had to apply this for a good minute before anything was remotely transferred onto my lips. And after applying it, I would need to reapply every so often because my lips felt dry and then it became a tedious cycle. As much as the packaging is cute, it would eventually become bothersome to get the last bit out if it's not rounded anymore after being used. Would not buy or recommend.

Lips -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Balm
sweetdase 10/29/2012 6:24:00 PM
I bought this in Tender Mauve and I like it a lot. I like this product overall because it feels such high quality. People need to understand that this is not a lipstick, but more like a tinted lip balm, hence the name. The pigmentation isn't awesome but it does what it's supposed to do - tint. I love the packaging because it's sturdy and doesn't feel flimsy when twisting it up and down. I find it is smooth to apply on my lips, but will always apply an actual lip balm prior to applying this. However, if your lips are already nicely moisturized, then this lip balm will give a hint of color so you don't look pale. I will most likely repurchase if there is no new product that catches my eye before this one runs out.
