Cleansers -Nivea - Refreshing Gel Cleanser

This is a great addition to my regimen! In the morning i don't like using much and this fits that bill. The light blue gel moves smoothly all over my face and remove a night's oil and grime. It has never dehydrated my skin further. The packaging is great too, it doesn't leak and i can toss it easily in my gym bag without fear.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Tempting (LUSTRE)

This is that *perfect* brown crease color. For some reason i'm having huge difficulties blending it over any paintpots though, it sticks in blotches. It is like a less coppery woodwinked. I like paring it with ricepaper to keep an overall light look. This bronze warm rich shade is the perfect addition to any collection and is quickly becoming my go - to e/s.

Mascara -Annabelle - volumelash.com

This product is unique and great! A definite repurchase. The packaging is great. The tube seals tightly and the wand comes out clean, just the tip has a bit of extra product. The wand is the magic. One side is a dense, full brush and the other is a short fat comb. I have tried a lot of mascaras and love playing with the wands so that they apply the product just the way i want. I love how this has two types of wands in one so that i can apply the product differently for either a different look (length of volume) or gorgeous lashes when i combine. The problem with a normal wand is that you can only get the product on in one way, with two applicators you can get it on in different ways during the process. So the most effective way to get the lashes i want (Voluminous, dense and luscious at the base, long and feathery at the tips) is to initially build the product up at the base using the comb (it applies the product thickly but without clumps) and then using the brush move it up in a twisting motion to the tips of my lashes (this helps to separate and bring up just enough). The actual product is what makes the application process so effective. Its thick and creamy and moves like a dream. Once dry it keeps the flexibility of a curl but does flake a bit unfortunately. Overall this product is fantastic and sells for the small fee of around 9$ CAD.

I have tried a LOT of mascaras. This just doesn't cut it. I love playing with new brushes but this one was much too flexible, i couldn't build on product properly. The product dried stiff and straightened out ant curl in my lashes. My lashes looked like a spiky mess my the end of the day. Not cute. I just really don't like the consistency of the product it sucks for lack of a better word. The tube is cute though.

Primer/ Corrector -Serious Skin Care - Reverse High Definition Diffuser with Argifirm

This product is fantastic! I have tried a lot of primers and it has been a long road. I have oily dehydrated skin that is a flaky nightmare. This primer is a light white smooth lotion-like liquid. Over moisturizer only you can see a visual improvement in the appearance of your skin. It looks smoother and gives a slight soft focus finish. MMU and liquid foundations apply great over and helps to not accentuate my flakes. It controls my oilies a lot longer than any other powder, primer or oil-control product i have tried. I haven't broken out from this product nor noticed any increased skin sensitivity. The packaging is great and the pump dispenses just the right amount of product. I'll definitely buy again, i'm already stressed over running out!

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Tersaseptic

Just bought this because i've been looking for a good cleanser that will remove my makeup and won't leave my skin tight. So far it washes off well, and doesn't leave my face feeling overly dry and tight. I'm hoping it won't aggravate my flaky, dehydrated, oily acne-prone skin and i'll update within the next few days! UPDATE: So this product is fantastic! Its inexpensive, simple and extremely effective. It smells like doctor (i guess its the antibacterial) and has a translucent orangey appearance and a thin gel consistency. It washes clean almost all my makeup and never overdries my skin. My skin has become more balanced and my breakouts have gradually improved (i breakout less and less often). During the time i wrote my initial review and now i have tried other cleansers in hope of something greater but this stuff is magic and i keep on coming back to it. Its everything i need in a cleanser, no strings attached. I also use this to wash my brushes, seeing how well it removes makeup and holy cow! Incredible! Keeps the hairs and bristles in good shape and removes EVERYTHING. You should see all the crap that comes out of those brushes. Strangely satisfying. I have also tried it as a shampoo and its great as an anti-residue every now and then. My scalp feel great, my hair is lightweight and extremely soft and shiny after. No idea why or how but its great! Overall im SO happy i found this product its truly a multitasking marvel. UPDATE: I've stopped with the antibacterials. If you are however looking for something to really clean out your brushes well, and have no qualms about Triclosan or other antibacterials, this is for you.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Blot Powder
rated 4 of 5
sweet_sorrow123 8/28/2008 9:46:00 PM

I was looking for a pressed powder thats easy to toss in my bag for touch ups and to blot my shiny skin. I like it because it doesn't add on any extra color or cakey texture and definitely blots but without over drying. I'm an nc20 for reference, and I purchased this in medium. I felt that the light left the slightest cast. I love the compact, IMO its very durable.

This fragrance is a very strong but fresh floral. It can smell very old on warmer days. Once it dries and has been worm for a while it smells warmer. I really wanted to love it because the bottle is stunning, but its just not my taste. UPDATE: I've changed my mind on this one! Some days it works beautifully on my skin. Its a very warm sweet florally enticing fragrance and is now on my to-buy list! UPDATE: I'm wearing this more and more. Sits on my skin these days more as a deep but light warm vanilla. Lovely.

Styling Products -The Body Shop - Coconut Oil Hair Shine

A little goes a longgg way! At night after i shower i like to put it a tad more than i ever would if i were to go out, so it can absorb into my hair overnight and its really helped my hair out! The tin can be tricky to open but i dont close it all the way down to prevent this. This product also works fantastically on my feet, its helped to soften up my callouses from when i was dancing tremendously.

Powder -MAC - Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation
rated 5 of 5
sweet_sorrow123 7/21/2008 11:43:00 PM

I'm an NC20 in the winter, and an NW20 in the summer, with my NW20 skin right now i was matched up with C2 and its perfect! I have combo acne-prone skin and this product does not accentuate my flakes. It offers great build able coverage and has a matte but natural, not cakey (depending on application) finish. The best way i've found to apply this is with a 182 or a not-too-dense powder brush (like the 150) and then buffing it even more. I'll update in a week or two more on how this product is working for me, and if i break out. But as of now i adore this! UPDATE: It hasn't broken me out, but i've noticed it kind of 'sits' on your skin. Something i find myself picking up when i feel like a powder foundation though or just a bit of coverage.

I love this cleanser. I have combo, flaky, acne prone skin and i find this has really balanced it out because its not harsh and removes all my makeup. I would repurchase if i needed anything else from her line, if not its a bit of a hassle IMHO.

Moisturizers -Marcelle - Aquarelle Aqua-Matte Hydrating Fluid
rated 5 of 5
sweet_sorrow123 12/1/2007 11:20:00 PM

My new HG lotion, i love Marcelle! My skin is crazy- combo, oily on t-zone, normal cheeks, but major flakies and dryness around brows, just below temples, under mouth and jaw line. Its about 13$ at the d/s, comes in a very generous 120 ml pump bottle that locks and pumps a decent amount. I use this morning and night, and it works fabulously under my MU. For winter though at night i need something a tad heavier because my skin gets super dry, but i continue to use this in the morning. Definitely try it out if you're in Canada!

Tried this on at the store (on sale for 40 bucks) and I like the bottle. But this fragrance is definitely not for me. I like deep oriental non-floral fragrances. This was a sweet floral that reminded me of my grandmother. Definitely not something sexy, can't even wear for day. Glad I didn't buy it, but im kinda sad because i love the bottle. *sigh*.

Lips -Nivea - Lip Care

I love the dark blue one. These a few years ago were Labello, i'm assuming Nivea bought them? Anyways, its the exact same as the Dark Blue Regular Labello. Defs my favorible lip balm. Its nice and creamy, moisturizes well and keeps my lip happy. It has a nice taste and smell, nothing too strong.

Mascara -Estee Lauder - More Than Mascara
rated 3 of 5
sweet_sorrow123 11/4/2007 7:06:00 PM

I tried a GWP version of this, the fact that its supposed to condition lashes intrigues me. It looks great if you really work at it, a solid two thick coats and it looks great. doesn't flake, but smudges a tad on my oily lid. I'd give it a go if you have time to make it look good.
