Blush -GloMinerals - gloBlush- Sweet
rated 5 of 5

Ahhh....perfection. What I wanted NARS Orgasm, Milani Luminous, and a million other blushes to be. Natural, glowy pinky-peach. Random, but it photographs beautifully on my NC25/30ish skin. I personally apply with my MAC 187 brush. Although one container might last be forever, I would be more than willing to buy it again.

Polishes -OPI - Louvre Me Louvre Me Not
rated 4 of 5
sweeettart579 9/24/2008 2:04:00 PM

I searched high and low for the perfect fall purple polish that couldn't be mistaken for black or navy. This is it! Others have described the color well- red toned purple with hot pink/red microglitter. I gave LMOLMN 4 lippies because it did take me 3-4 coats to get the coverage I was looking for. However, the staying power is excellent, I get tons of compliments, and I just love to look at my fingers and toes when I'm wearing this! Would definitely buy again.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Sea Myth from Lure Collection
rated 4 of 5
sweeettart579 7/18/2006 9:20:00 AM

Beautiful e/s with a pink opalescent sheen....perfect for highlighting when I use other pinks/purples. I do not have Seedy Pearl, so I really can't compare the two. However, Flirt! Lime Light (I think that's the name?) is an exact dupe. Both look grey-ish white in the container, but apply to a sheery opalescent pink-lavender. Here's a pic of Sea Myth on the brow bone and as a wash over other purple/plum e/s: Me: NC30-35ish, brown eyes

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Allure Lover
rated 5 of 5
sweeettart579 7/8/2006 6:29:00 PM

Perfection. Being my MUA 1 year anniversary, I wanted to splurge on something extravagent...something I usually wouldn't buy. So I decided every girl needs the perfect classic red lipstick, so who else to turn to but Chanel? I own a gazillion glosses and a handful of lipsticks, mostly drugstore. I am now converted into a strictly high end lipstick girl with the occasional gloss thrown in. The Chanel Rouge Allures are perefection. Incredibly creamy, pigmented, moisturizing, and smooth, yet very light weight. As soon as I put on Lover, I felt HOT. Sexy. Chic. On top of the world. Since when does a lipstick give me that feeling? I now think that every girl should find her perfect red bc everybody should experience that feeling! Lover is a deep blood red with a slight cranberry tinge. I can see flecks of gold in the tube but doesn't seem to appear on my lips at all. The packaging is beautiful, so chic. You actually have to "click" the top to get it out, which I think is genius. I also adore the "CHANEL" etched into the side :) Overall, the only downside to this product is the price...but for the quality, I would say it's worth it. NC35 girls, its a must.

Blush -Milani - Smooth Finish Blush - Luminous
rated 1 of 5
sweeettart579 7/4/2006 11:40:00 PM

Didn't care for this or NARS Orgasm....Orgasm was too "glittery" and Luminous was far too "frosty". Oh well, $2 down the drain. I think I might find the strength to get over such a loss. UPDATE: Flirt! Heartthrob is much, much better. None of that glittery or frosty crap. Just a lovely glow :)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Soba (Satin)
rated 5 of 5
sweeettart579 5/30/2006 6:14:00 PM

I'm a warm-toned, NC 30-42 gal (winter-summer) and Soba is perfect for my "My Lids But Better" look. You know the one I'm talking about...the one where there's a *slight* golden cast on the lid to make it *slightly* darker, defining the eye but not making it seem like one is wearing eyeshadow? Well I've always envied this look on celebrities, but now I am finally able to copy it for myself! This golden-yellow-brown shadow with just enough shine to keep it from being matte is now a staple in my mu collection. I own almost every brown/gold/bronze from MAC, and this is one of my favorites. I would definitely repurchase!

Pressed Powders -Tony & Tina - luna essence pressed mineral powder
rated 5 of 5
sweeettart579 2/27/2006 3:55:00 PM

My HG Powder Foundation! I got this in Moonlight for $5 at TJMaxx after Tony and Tina went out of business. I absolutely love it. It gives great coverage, yet manages to look natural and glowy without any shimmer. I like it MUCH more than my Chanel DPC. Probably my favorite thing about this is the shade though. Moonlight is exactly the same color as my skin...same shade, some undertones, everything. I've never been able to find a better match anywhere! My only complaint is the packaging, which is a silver reflective compact...fingerprints get all over it and make it look dirty. I do like the message in the mirror though (Smile. You're Beautiful...what a great message). Anyway, that's only a minor complaint. I need to search high and low on ebay or swap for more of this, bc its HG! I don't even want to try and replace this with anything else bc I know there's nothing like this out there =)

Highlighters -The Body Shop - Cream Illuminating Stick
rated 4 of 5
sweeettart579 1/9/2006 8:40:00 PM

I'm going to join Kama in the campaign for this highlighter :). Having never tried any makeup by The Body Shop before, I'm really very impressed with this product! I have L02, an off-white "glowy" highlighting stick that reminds me a little bit of a NARS Multiple. The difference between this and NARS is the texture. Not too greasy, not too dry...Just right! I apply it right to my cheekbones, temples, bridge of my nose, & brow bone....smooth and easy to blend. Like Kama said, definitely gives a "glow" with unobvious shimmer, and certainly no glitter chunks. For $2, you can't beat that :) FYI: I think this might be DCed, so stock up if you can!

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Eye shadow in Taupe
rated 5 of 5
sweeettart579 12/9/2005 7:32:00 PM

Finally! A taupe I can wear! As other reviewers have said, this is a matte warm yellow toned taupe....this neutral is a staple in my mu collection. I like to wear it either by itself, with MAC Vanilla Pigment over it, or MAC Honesty over it for going out. The texture is far superior to most other matte formulas I've tried...easy to apply and blend. Love it. I didn't purchase this (got it as an RAOK), but if I were to run out I would repurchase.

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Shining Kisses Iridescent Lipgloss in Emma
rated 4 of 5
sweeettart579 11/22/2005 1:16:00 AM

Sooo pretty. Looks straight up gold in the tube, but once applied, looks EXACTLY like MAC Vanilla Pigment if it was a l/g. Gold, pink irredescence, not glitter or shimmer. Awesome. Can wear it alone or over anything. Texture and packaging were mediocre...everything else was great. Would buy again. UPDATE: I stopped in a VS store the other day to buy another, and it's gone! I don't know if they just didn't have it or if its dc'd, but if anyone sees this, please let me know!! ty

Blush -NARS - Mata Hari
rated 5 of 5
sweeettart579 11/13/2005 9:32:00 PM

Love it. My HG. Not gonna say much, as most everything has already been said (However, I do disagree with those who say that it has a blue undertone; i see none... if anything, its suprisingly warm). This blush literally sinks into my skin and makes me "glow from within." So glad I purchased this, and I would rec it to anybody who loves pink cheeks. I expect I will one day finish this (tho not for a long, long time). But when I do, I will gladly repurchase.

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Sesame Glossimer [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
sweeettart579 11/13/2005 5:34:00 PM

Sesame is a beautiful very light, warm, pink with gold microshimmer (not glitter!). My lips are not at all pigmented, so on me, it looks exactly like the color in the tube. My absolute #1 favorite nude lip...I use it all the time! Especially nice if you feel like straight nudes wash you out...the pink and gold help to make this wearable. Not as frosty or gritty as some other glossimers, although it's not as smooth as some of the glossimers without shimmer, of course. As always, the texture and staying power of glossimers are superb...the only downfall to these are the price....a LOT for a gloss. But imo, Glossimers are well worth it =)

Treatments -Clean & Clear - Invisible Blemish Treatment
rated 4 of 5
sweeettart579 10/12/2005 12:17:00 AM

For some reason, this works great for me. I also have persa gel, but this does a better job at clearing up any blemish that comes up...usually overnight. I use a 3 step acne system with benzyol peroxide everyday, so maybe Persa Gel doesn't work because my skin has become immune to BP? I dunno...but what I DO know is that this SA treatment works for me! Just dab it on at night, blemish nearly healed in the morning. I love it.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colorjuice- Bali Dancer
rated 4 of 5
sweeettart579 10/10/2005 4:49:00 PM

Although I don't like CJs overall, I love Bali Dancer. It's a medium salmon pink with gold irredescence. Seems to have both warm and cool tones to it, which confuses me just a bit =P. But overall, a really lovely color that brightens up my face whenever I wear it. It is LE unfortunately, but I just swapped for a back up! (which speaks volumes about this color, as I usually don't need backups of pink l/gs...I have tons!) Perfect for spring/summer, and while it looks nice on the fair, I bet this color would be STUNNING on a tan!

Scrubs -St. Ives - St. Ives Gentle Apricot Scrub
rated 2 of 5
sweeettart579 10/1/2005 11:43:00 PM

I used this until my facialist told me that under a microscope, the particles are just like mini razors! She said it tears up the skin (in a bad way). From now on, I will not be repurchasing.
