Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish - Kate Moss 107
suzieyellow 4/21/2013 3:32:00 AM
I bought this lipstick after seeing Kate Moss wearing the colour all over the billboards. It is like a dark plummy red colour. The colour is gorgeous! If you only apply a little, it's like a pinky plum colour, and if you go over it a few times it deepens to a very dark vampy red plum colour. It lasts a fairly long while on the lips. And it has a creamy texture and is not at all drying despite being a matte lipstick! Unfortunately I have to only give it three lippies because a) The smell: I can't stand it! It's supposed to be fruity, but it's just so offputting. And more importantly b) The lipstick itself has a kind of grainy texture. It's not grainy when it's on the lips, but it feels like the lipstick in the tube that you are applying is rather grainy. That makes application quite difficult, because you can't draw a smooth line. It probably won't matter so much if you use a lipliner before hand, but I don't have a lipliner of the same colour, so it is a bit messy.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Perversion
suzieyellow 4/20/2013 11:36:00 PM
Let me tell you about my story in regards to this liner. When I was a kid I'd go and buy cheap drugstore (or even worse) pencil liners. They were ok a bit hard and not very pigmented. My first proper eyeliner was Zero by Urban Decay. I couldn't believe how smooth and pigment it was compared to my previous liners. Well, a few years later I'd moved on and now preferred liquid and gel liners (particularly Bobbi Brown gel liner and Doll Wink liquid liner). They were a lot easier to use and had greater staying power than the good old trusty Zero. Recently I discovered UD came out with Perversion, which was supposed to be a lot darker than Zero. Of course I was curious. So I went and tried it out. And indeed it was DARK. Much darker than any other liner I've ever tried. But that's where the good points stop. It is so creamy like warm butter. So much so that the first time I used it I pressed quite gently, but not gently enough because it went all over my eyes and gave me raccoon eyes! But the major problem is with staying power. For something that is 24/7, it would be incredibly Lucy if it lasted 24 seconds. It stars sliding as soon as you put it on. Sigh. That means it's probably good to put on and take a few selfies bit no way could you wear it out. Disappointing, but I'm happy with my other liners, so not really devastated.

Lipstick -Revlon - Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - Honey
suzieyellow 4/13/2013 9:36:00 AM
Honey is probably the most wearable colour out of the Balm Stains. I have all of them! Some are too dark to wear every day, some are too pink. There are a couple of nudes that don't show up that well. Honey is a browney, mauvey, pink colour. Basically a kind of muted dark pink that would look quite good to wear to the office. I feel like the colour in the tube does get a bit more mauvey over time, but I like that. It lasts a decent while- probably at least several hours, and even when the balm has worn off, it leaves a nice wash of colour behind. And because it is a balm stain, rather than a regular balm or lipstick, you don't have to apply as often, so the tube will last you a long time! This is probably the only balm stain I will repurchase, mostly because I'm using it quite often and I don't really envision finishing any of the other ones off.

Eye Shadow -Inglot - Freedom System Palette
suzieyellow 4/6/2013 3:22:00 PM
After seeing rave reviews of Inglot on makeup blogs and on Youtube, I was determined to get my hands on a set. Inglot is fairly expensive in Australia, so I waited until my trip to London, where it was around 33% cheaper, and went a bit crazy and bought 2 palettes. When I got home, I finally got a chance to try them, but alas. The quality of the eyeshadows just weren't up to scratch. To be fair, I haven't got too much to compare it to. 95% of the time I've been using Urban Decay palettes. Still, the shadows just weren't very soft and blendable. They lacked pigmentation when using an eyeshadow brush. I do like the packaging and the system though. I'd give that 5/5. I also really liked the concept of having a customizable palette. I now have a selection of purple eyeshadows, which is really nice because I didn't have that before. But for the price, I expected better. :(

Blush -NARS - Angelika
suzieyellow 4/6/2013 3:15:00 PM
I hate to give any NARS blush a mediocre review, but having a great deal of them, I have to say, that this one is probably my least favourite. My gripe is mostly with the colour. It's a fairly ordinary pink. With chunks of glitter. Apart from that, the quality of the product is good, like all NARS blushes. Goes on quite nicely and lasts a decent amount of time.

Mascara -Kiss Me - HEROINE MAKE long and curl mascara (black)
suzieyellow 4/6/2013 3:04:00 PM
On my second tube of this stuff! This is probably the first time I've ever been on a second full size tube of any mascara ever. And I've tried so many it's ridiculous (at least 50 - mostly high end, but some drugstore). My favourite mascara before this was probably a Lancome one... I find the Lancome ones feel quite natural and light, aren't too dry, and so give a kind of glossy glamorous look to the lashes. I typically don't like dry mascaras because they make the lashes look clumpy, and not natural. Kiss me Heroine Make long and curl mascara is a dry mascara, which is why I'm so surprised I love it. It holds the curl all day, does not clump, and defines each and every one of my lashes. I'm Asian, so I don't have a lot of lashes, but at least with this mascara, you can see all the lashes! Before, they'd be too fine to notice. It doesn't make my lashes as thick and glossy as the Lancome mascaras, but given how beautifully curled and defined my lashes look, I don't care at all. One of my friends thought I was wearing falsies. That's how NICE my lashes looked. Oh, and did I mention I'm Asian with short very fine lashes? Remarkable! As long as I get a fresh tube every few months, I think I will no longer be looking for a new mascara. Ever.

Treatments (Eye) -Physicians Formula - Eye Boosters 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Serum
suzieyellow 4/6/2013 2:52:00 PM
Not bad for a liquid liner. But after using the Dolly Wink liner, I felt this one to be just a lot harder to use. The brush was not as precise and a lot more flimsy, so it was a lot harder to draw a defined line. That's fine, because I've gotten used to drawing with liquid liners, but it might be difficult for people who aren't so experienced with liquid liners. The colour is a very deep black, which is nice. It does last quite a while and doesn't smudge or transfer. I don't know about the eyelash enhancing properties. I don't use eyeliner every single day, and I switch around with brands, so I haven't used this product consistently enough to know whether it has has any effect.

Lips -Revlon - Just Bitten Lip Stain
suzieyellow 4/6/2013 2:49:00 PM
I have the Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stains in every single colour. They are very nice, long-lasting and moisturising. The only problem is my lips aren't exactly the smoothest, so if I leave it on for a LONG period of time, then it will start staining my lips unevenly. Otherwise, it's a great product. I have no complaints. The packaging is nice... it twists up, so no need for a sharpener! It smells a bit medicinal like menthol, which was a bit off-putting at first, but now I like it. The lighter colours I use sometimes in lieu of lip balm. They don't show up as much, and the staining isn't quite as heavy. I would only use the darker colours occasionally because they do stain! And if you're talking/eating, etc, during the day, some of it will come off, but the rest will remain on your lips, so you'll have to retouch every few hours.

Shampoo -Kerastase - Oleo Relax shampoo

This shampoo is really good at detangling and smoothing out hair. However, I do feel that you will need to clarify your hair weekly or else there will be build-up.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter
suzieyellow 10/16/2012 7:49:00 AM
I bought 7 of these in different shades online after seeing rave reviews on Youtube, but I have to say I am a tad disappointed. It's like they don't quite know whether they are a lip balm or a lipstick. If you put a thin layer on, then it looks like you are wearing a cheap looking tinted balm like a high school student. If you want to build up the colour, then it looks like your lips are oversaturated with oily looking vaseline. Ugh and the GLITTER. Lip products should never have obvious large chunks of glitter. I do like some of the colours, but I won't be repurchasing.

Blush -NARS - Deep Throat
suzieyellow 6/2/2012 2:28:00 PM
My favourite blush of all time! Oh my god this is such a lovely blush. The powder is of such fantastic quality, so soft, finely milled and pigmented. It feels so luxurious, like satin. I've tried MAC blushes, and there is no comparison! Deep Throat is super long lasting. I will put it on in the morning before work, and by the evening, it will still look the same. No need for touch ups. I can't say the same for any other brand blush I have ever tried. It's quite amazing, because I have a tendency to touch my face during the day, so a lot of my make up would usually wear off. The colour is a lovely peachy pink, nothing too dramatic. I think it would look good on most skintones. I'm an NC30 for reference. It is very pigmented, so you do need to apply this with a fairly light hand, but it is also buildable. It has a satin finish, which gives your cheeks a very nice glow. The blush does also have some very fine glitter particles, but they aren't really noticeable unless you look straight into the pan. Although I've recently become obsessed with collecting Nars blushes, this is still my absolute favourite, and the one that I'd recommend to anyone starting out. I do love all the Nars blushes though. They are such good quality, and you will find that a lot of them will work for you, no matter what skin tone.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Turkish Delight
suzieyellow 6/2/2012 2:17:00 PM
My skin is NC30 with yellow undertones, and I feel like this gloss is just too pale, and makes me look washed out. Furthermore, when I layer it on top of almost any lipstick, within 5 minutes, it sucks the colour out of my lipstick. :( The only thing this lipgloss really looks good with is over a very bright coral lipstick. It will mute the coral a bit and make it look more wearable. In it's defence though, I would never have bought Turkish Delight by myself. It was given to me as a birthday present. It does have a fairly nice non-sticky texture. And I probably won't throw it out, but it'll also probably never get finished.

Bronzers -NARS - Laguna
suzieyellow 6/2/2012 2:11:00 PM
I had such high hopes for this bronzer after reading the rave reviews on it. It's not a bad bronzer per se. It gives a lovely finish, which has a bit of sheen, and is very difficult to overdo. Unfortunately, I feel like it's a bit light for my skin. I have to use quite a lot for it to be noticeable on my skin, which is disappointing considering how pigmented my Nars blushes are. Worn with my Nars blushes, the Laguna bronzer is almost unnoticeable. For reference, I'm an NC25-30 with very yellow undertones. UPDATE: Have given this away to a friend. I find that using a plummy/brown/golden NARS blush (e.g. Sin, Luster, Madly) to contour works way better.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Angelika
suzieyellow 6/2/2012 2:08:00 PM
Nars Angelika is a hot pink lip gloss with blue undertones. I don't usually go for really cool pink lip colours because my face has very yellow undertones, so I end up either looking like a clown or having a really washed out face. But I love Angelika! The shop assistant at the Nars counter put some on me while I was trying out some Nars blushes, and I totally fell in love. I think it would look great on either cool or warm skin tones. For reference, I'm an NC30. It's also fairly opaque, so you can wear it on its own or over lipstick.

Foundations -Yves Saint Laurent - Perfect Touch Radiant Brush Foundation
suzieyellow 8/6/2011 1:54:00 AM
This is a fairly light coverage foundation. Honestly, because my skin's already pretty good, it doesn't even look all that much like I'm wearing foundation when I'm wearing this. However, there's 2 really great points to this foundation - 1. The heavenly smell. It smells like roses (?). It just smells so fresh. I love it! 2. The finish. Okay so I really didn't think YSL Perfect Touch was all that great until I was looking through some photos of a friend's birthday party. And in the photos my skin looked fantastic. It was like it was almost glowing. And that's when I remembered I was wearing Perfect Touch that night. And by glowing, I don't mean greasy. It just looked amazingly luminous. Perhaps it was just a fluke that night... but then again, perhaps not.
