Cleansers -Sothys - Normalizing Beauty Milk

I got introduced to Sothys by a friend who had already converted her whole skin care to Sothys. You can only buy it in beauty salons who use Sothys here in Australia so that was the number one downfall. What if I ran out and can't find a salon while somewhere else? Anyways, this cleanser is a milky cleanser so it doesn't foam. Takes a bit of getting used to first. Also it doesn't do a good job of cleaning off makeup which was silly. I liked the fact that it didn't leave my skin feeling tight but then this was the first milk cleanser I tried. The other thing I didn't like was the fragrance. It was just too fake. It wasn't overpowering but doesn't belong with a cleanser in my opinion. Also the yellow colour... not my thing! Since I was also in a "natural/organic" phase, I decided to ditch the cleanser after reading the label and discovering the fact that it had PEG as the second ingredient!! There are other cleansers which aren't fake smelling and contain so much synthetic ingredients which is the reason why I switched.

Skincare - Face -Sothys - biological skin peeling

Can't say I like this product. It's troublesome to use- you have to use it on dry skin and then pretty much rub your skin until the peeling stuff falls off. I'm more of a wash everything in the shower sort of girl. I felt that it didn't "exfoliate" my skin since I am so used to the granule type. My skin didn't feel much smoother either and the bumps where still there. I've got a travel size kit for all the sothys products and can't say they've impressed me much!

Scrubs -Ren - Jojoba Microbead Purifying Facial Scrub

I would really recommend this scrub. The jojoba beads are very gentle and smooth- doesn't feel like you are exfoliating. After rinsing the beads off, my skin felt really smooth. It's also gentle to be used almost daily but probably give your skin a rest for a couple of days in a week. The only thing I don't like about this doesn't have anything to do with the product- more the packaging. It comes in a ginormous bottle when really it's 150ml. I mean REN is trying to be good with the no parabens and perservations stuff but then the container is so big. Makes it hard to travel with! Also it is a little bit on the expensive side but it does lasts a long time!

Moisturizers -La Mer - Moisturizing Lotion

I'm a bit split about this lotion. I think it might be giving me little bumps under my skin from reading the other reviews yet I think that could also be because I haven't been exfoliating regulary enough. Plus I also had a blackhead extraction which lead to some nasty scarring and some more blackheads! >_< It is a very hydrating cream I will give it that and you only need the tiniest amount you can get away with. Also for such a rich, luxurious cream, it doesn't feel heavy when applied. To apply, you pump a bit out and warm it between your fingers then pat on your face. It might seem like you are patting on nothing but then your face does feel moisturised. I do like using it in winter but I have not tested it in summer and I think it maybe too rich for summer?? I have only used it at night in winter and it's very good. I will think about repurchasing this.. it's very very expensive and I will see how much the 100ml bottle lasts me!

Treatments (Eye) -La Mer - Eye Balm [DISCONTINUED]
suzie_ann 8/9/2009 4:57:00 AM
I've heard this eye cream as being an 'indulgent splurge'. So I thought I would splurge out on an eye cream that I am going to use since it is so bloody expensive! This is the first eye cream I have ever used. I only dab it on at night. To tell you the truth, I don't see much difference because when I wake up in the morning, I wash my face again and I am so dreary eyed- who can tell??? The only thing I don't like about it is the green colour! It's not bright green, more like an algae-tinge to it. Otherwise it is very hydrating seeing as I am using it in winter. I won't purchase this again because of the price tag and I don't have noticeably dark circles/puffy eyes (touch wood!) so really I don't know why I did in the first place! :D There are cheaper eye creams out there and I suppose you can use a moisturiser lightly around the eye area.
