I just got one of these at my health food store called Cleopatra's Dream. Its rather nice, jasmine, rose and lemon I smell primarily. Not bad for under 10 dollars either

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Summer Vanillas - Apricot Vanilla mist
susielhelton 4/26/2011 8:57:00 PM
I love this :D Smells so creamy and comforting. I love this and the discontinued Lemon Vanilla (still crying in the corner over that one :*( The lotion is a great balance of vanilla and apricot its creamy, fresh and is wonderful for warmer weather. The splash is slightly more fruity and the body wash is similar to the lotion. This is similar to sweet, non offensive scents like Viva La Juicy, Armani Code and Gucci Guilty (all of which I love and use regularly). A great sweet comforting foodie fix!

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Dream Angels Heavenly
susielhelton 12/21/2010 8:04:00 PM
This is a very basic, very safe, vanilla based oriental (which probably accounts for the large number of sales and good reviews). Nothing drastic, dramatic or particularly sexy about Heavenly but it is a "nice" fragrance. It is somewhat comforting, somewhat powdery, and can be cloying if you apply too much at once. Heavenly does not have great sillage or staying power but for the price isn't terrible, I have smelled far worse for the price point. I do not think this is ground breaking, however if looking for something safe and inoffensive this is likely a good bet.

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Alien
susielhelton 11/15/2010 10:36:00 AM
This is a very hard to describe fragrance. It is not like anything I have ever smelled but it does have elements of some other perfumes. The closest match I can come up with would be Poison by Dior because it shares that boozy/ red wine note in Poison. The base notes on the dry down are similar to Armani Code but the overall composition is nothing like anything I have smelled to date. Alien starts with something very expansive and sharp yet interesting I think this is the solar note. Then you smell a beautiful sambac jasmine and something cool and dry like menthol or anise. Under the jasmine is a cashmerian note with amber and vanilla which is comforting and warm but the fragrance overall is icy and cold. Like I think of fog on a cold autumn day early in the morning when I wear this. It is a masculine fragrance for women, this is not a 'pretty white floral' like Vera Wang it is much more edgy that most jasmine scents I have encountered thus far. I can understand the love hate relationship most people have with this fragrance, it is very strong and very unusual. Much like Opium, Poison, and the other 80's powerhouse fragrances. Alien plays homage to these classic iconic staples by going to the edge of a theme / fragrance note and carrying it beyond what most perfumers dare to go: Alien is both disconnected and jarring and yet cohesive enough to be polished and addictive. This fragrance is NOT for everyone it is not for the meek or mild mannered. To Alien lovers: one spray is ENOUGH. Beyond that you risk ruining the experience for everyone including yourself. This fragrance sprayed with a heavy hand will easily morph into a monster which will threaten Invasion of the entire planet ;)

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Solstice Scents Perfume Olis on ETSY
susielhelton 10/7/2010 6:55:00 PM
I have recently ordered some perfume oils from this Etailer on ETSY and I had to write a review on MUA so people could find out about this store! Solstice Scents carries hand made natural bath and body products which are very high quality and really a delight to use. The perfume oils I got (at first I only ordered 1 and then ordered a ton more) are amazing. They are long lasting and do not smell artificial or chemical. These are made up of Essential Oils and are in an organic wildcrafted bran oil base. The scents I chose are more on the unisex / incensey type except for Pumpkin Spiced Latte. I love them all but my favs are Lace Draped Spectre, Conjure, Travelers and Dragon's Blood. She also has burnishing glacee sprays and body butters that match most of the perfume oils. All of the fragrances are wonderful and smell really unique. These are not your average drugstore or flea market oils these are clearly crafted with love and attention to detail. If you do not want to smell like anyone else these are the oils to get. I think *although I have not gotten my first BPAL order yet* these would be a big hit with BPAL users as well. I am not being paid or compensated in ANY way for posting this review I just wanted to pass along the word of how awesome Angela's creations are! I also got her chocolate face masque and its great, it smells heavenly and leaves my face feeling soft. Haven't been this excited about a product line / purchase in ages... it is nice to really feel you got something that was made with quality and care for a change!

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Forever Sunshine
susielhelton 7/9/2010 8:41:00 PM
Forever Sunshine reminds me of something....similar...yet not exactly the same.... OK ladies you can call me crazy if you think I am however the drydown on Forever Sunshine is SIMILAR enough to Armani Code (admittedly without lavender and some of the other notes) that I almost feel I could pull off layering the two. Armani Code is obviously more sophisticated and is not as sweet as Forever Sunshine but they are similar. From Now Smell This http://www.nstperfume.com/2006/04/10/perfume-review-armani-code-for-women-by-giorgio-armani/ ******************************************************************** "Armani Code opens with fresh orange and ginger, and the top notes have a nice zing. After that, it is all very soft and muted and indistinct, with vague honeyed florals and even vaguer hints of fruit — I would not have guessed pear — over a warm but mild base of vanilla and pale musky woods. A touch of the ginger lasts into the dry down, but not much: it isn’t particulary spicy after the first 30 minutes have passed. Happily, it also isn’t overly sweet." (Sephoria lists the notes as : Blood Orange, Ginger, Pear Sorbet, Sambac Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Seringa Flower, Lavender Honey, Precious Woods Complex, Vanilla." ******************************************************************** Forever Sunshine Fragrance Notes: Master perfumers have blended golden apricot, pink peonies, vanilla musk and a hint of praline to create this fresh fragrance that captures the romance of warm days that linger into cool autumn. Wear it whenever you crave the essence of summer. Additional notes include tangerine, mandarin, berries, gardenia, freesia and sandalwood. ******************************************************************** Forever Sunshine isn't terrible on its own despite the comparison to Armani Code (or as others have suggested Viva La Juicy) It smells similar to Twilight Woods they released last fall. Forever Sunshine a musky, slighty gourmand, sweet vanilla floriental. It reminds me of Sensual Amber in a way but not as strong or "deeply" amber. I would be curious to see what others think of the Armani Code comparison...:D EDIT: I had to bump this up a lippie because the more I wear Forever Sunshine the happier I am with my purchase. Usually by this point I would be starting to get tired of a fragrance and would have put it aside for rotation, but I still wearing it on a regular basis. I am still getting compliments from coworkers and when I go out as well.

Blush -Hard Candy - Blush Crush Baked Blush #127 Honeymoon
susielhelton 2/5/2010 8:03:00 PM
I have fairly pale skin (NW20 MAC) this is not a bad color but seems to work more like a highlighter than a true blush. The color is very subtle and has more of a glow than a genuine wash of color. I like it it is not overwhelming, and it does give a nice dewy glow but it is not exactly what I would consider a true blush. Worth the money as a highlighter but for a true blush I may stick with my Physicians Formula Powder Palette Multi-Colored Blushes.

Primer/ Corrector -Hard Candy - Sheer Envy Primer
susielhelton 2/5/2010 7:51:00 PM
Ok ladies the texture of this is very smooth and silky like that Monistat Anti Chafing gel that some ladies had reviewed as a primer. The link for the product is here so you can see what I am talking about http://www.monistat.com/soothing-care-powder-gel. This is similar in texture and works GREAT as a primer with my MAC Studio Fix Power Foundation. I have never had anything that smoothed out my skin as well and helped makeup to last as long without mid day shine meltdown. Usually I have to touch up my foundation at least twice a day, with this foundation primer it has to be a very warm day for me to need to touch it up even once! I love this product it is well worth the 8 dollars I paid

Eye Shadow -Hard Candy - Kal-eye-descope Baked Duo Rock n Roll
susielhelton 2/5/2010 7:43:00 PM
AMAZING SHADOWS. I first got a Kaleyedescope Eye Duo in Peace, and LOVED the cover payoff and the staying power: No creases, no flaking off, no fallout. I now have it in High Maintenance, Break Up, Rush Hour and Secret Rendezvous. I use this with the Sheer Envy Primer on my eyelids and it looks as good at 5 pm as it did at 8 am when I applied it. Well worth the money. Its a great investment with pretty colors, great payoff, large sizes, cheap price I may get a few more colors!

Deodorants -Secret - Fresh Effects
susielhelton 6/2/2009 10:59:00 PM
I decided to try this when I saw it on a new display in Walmart. I am now on my second stick! I have tried both the Water Fresh Orchid scent and the Orange Blossom Verbena and I can say the scent really does last all day. This is a great antiperspirant! Of the new ones I have tried this is a close second to the Secret Flawless Touch in Wildflower Fresh but both are great, work well and smell really good!

Lotions/ Creams -Victoria's Secret - Drenched in Pink Fresh & Clean Supersoft Body Lotion
susielhelton 6/2/2009 10:42:00 PM
I bought this in the semi annual sale at Bath and Body Works I got both the lotion and the body splash. This scent is very hard to describe because none of the notes seem to jump out at you and give you a base for description. The bottle claims to have apple and lilly notes but I cant detect either. This scent is sort of a nondescript very gentle clean smell. It reminds slightly of Cotton Blossom from bath and body works but not as powdery. Its not a impressive smell, but what it lacks in originality it makes up in usefulness...I go for this bottle when I want something simple and clean smelling. I cant see this being overtly offensive to many because it is really not very strong or overbearing. I would probably get this again because it is a nice lotion and is not greasy but you could probably find a more interesting scent out there if you want something with character.

Fragrances -The Body Shop - Moroccan Rose
susielhelton 2/4/2009 8:57:00 PM
This is interesting because I find this to be much spicier than my Stella (which is polar opposite to what a previous reviewer said) This is a fairly linear, simple rose fragrance with a spicy background and a faint hint of citrus. I understand fragrance is subjective and I expect that everyone will pick up something slightly different but on my skin this smells like rose petals with sprinkle of curry, saffron and a dash of orange. Not to say that this is a bad scent, it isn't but it does not have the very deep and sun warmed "dewy rose in sunlight" smell that Stella has. Stella is more the singular essence of a rose in nature while this smells more like a rose incense / rose spice blend. I would not go for this if you are not interested in something spicy or warm because that seems to be the main character that is left on my skin when I wear this. I would buy this again because it is different but I am not overwhelmed by this one either so I can't give it 5 lippies. I would suggest trying this one out, it is interesting and pretty and for the price you could do far worse. Note: I went back and got the Body Milk in the same fragrance and it is very strange. The body milk smells more like rose than the EDT. The spice seems to still be there but not as strong as I smelled in the EDT. I am wondering if they have a slightly different formulation in the lotion. Perhaps the bottle of EDT was made from a batch with slightly more of the spice note oils in the formulation. Regardless, the body milk is a LOVELY light spray lotion that you spritz on and rub in. I adore lotions like this because they are so light they do not leave your skin feeling greasy as some of the thicker lotions and body butters can. I think I will get another when get back to the mall.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Vanilla Noir
susielhelton 11/20/2008 5:51:00 PM
Oh man this is a great fragrance!!! I ordered this from the website half worried that this would be too overbearing or musky but my curiosity wore me down. This is a very warm, fragrance with a "true" vanilla bean vanilla married with a sweet musk. This is not a heavy musk, nothing overbearing but still sexy. You can safely wear this at work without scaring off half your coworkers. Vanilla Noir is a more adult fragrance than Warm Vanilla Sugar (so I would not get this for a teenager necessarily) my husband says it smells sexy! I really hope they keep this one awhile, they seem to discontinue alot of products I have enjoyed over the years.

Concealers -MAC - select cover-up
susielhelton 10/4/2008 10:09:00 PM
I bought this concealer on the suggestion of the SA who thought it would be useful in toning down some redness in my face. I have NW20 skin with patches of rosy pink on my cheeks and on my nose. I was advised to get the NC20 concealer as the yellow tones in it would be great in covering up the natural red tones in my face. I like this concealer, however it does dry quickly and is not easy to blend, so you should have an idea of what you need to cover and blend quickly before it sets. This does tone down the redness and works well with my studio fix foundation. I like the package because the product can be dispensed in a more controlled way only squeezing out of the tiny end exactly what you need. I will very likely purchase again in the future
