Treatments -Olay - Regenerist Micro-Sculpting SERUM
susie03 4/14/2013 10:31:00 AM
I'm really disappointed in this. I like the original Regenerist serum but this promises more for my age and concerns. However despite the fact that I do not have sensitive skin this brings me out in cystic lumps. I have trial run it 3 times and each time the same result. I wonder if it is the strong scent, though I have used the fragranced version of the original with no problems. I saw a review on Beautypedia for an unfragranced version of this but haven't seen it in the UK yet. I'd be wary even if I did as the lumps took at least 2 weeks to disappear and were hard to conceal!

Lipstick -Boots - No7 Sheer Temptation - Attract
susie03 3/19/2013 9:06:00 AM
My favourite nude lippie by far. This is a really flattering nude shade on my NC25 skin and super moisturising on my dry lips. My only gripe (now that Boots have imroved the packaging - the lid no longer falls off) is that it doesn't last long at all. I usually wait for a No7 double offer and get 3 for 2 with £5 off.

Toners -Liz Earle - Liz Earle Instant Boost skin tonic
susie03 2/27/2013 10:57:00 AM
Beautiful product, the smell is just lovely, it is soothing and refreshing and definitely feels as if it balances my skin after cleansing. I can't decide whether I prefer the spray or the bottle so tend to have one of each on the go. I was never one to bother with a toner until I discovered this gem and now I wouldn't be without.

Liquid -Liz Earle - Signature Foundation
susie03 2/27/2013 10:53:00 AM
Ticks all the boxes for me as a foundation, lightweight but decent coverage, lasts, dewy but not shiny and comes in a shade that I can use - Nude - perfect for me as NC25. Like the reviewer below I am a Sisley Oil Free fan but find the price hard to justify. This is a very similar foundation in consistency and wear and much cheaper.

Fragrances -L'Occitane - Amber (EDT and Perfume)
susie03 10/22/2012 3:43:00 PM
I simply love this, it's warm and sensual but not at all cloying. I love spicy scents and find Amber gentler than Eau D Parie which I also love. I've been wearing this day and night through the summer but actually think I'm going to love it even more as the nights draw in.

Shampoo -Liz Earle - Botanical Shine Shampoo
susie03 6/20/2012 8:03:00 AM
I really like this shampoo, it's moisturising and doesn't strip hair at all. Considering it has no artificial foaming agents a little lathers up well. It is thick for a shampoo and will last a long time. To the reviewer below who was so concerned about sodium chloride - that's just salt - won't harm your hair in the minimal quantities in this product!

Treatments (Eye) -Liz Earle - liz earle eyebright
susie03 8/23/2011 9:43:00 AM
This is a really really good product. It is a lovely gentle yet effective eye make up remover and quite the best treatment for tired, dry, dull eyes if soaked into cotton wool pads and applied for a few minutes. It unfailingly improves the brightness of the whites and any dryness / puffiness or morning lines. A real life saver to have in the bathroom cabinet and one I wouldn't want to be without. Wish I'd discovered it long ago. I suppose as an eye makeup remover it is pricey but as it doubles up as a treatment that actually works I consider it a real bargain.

Moisturizers -Olay - Regenerist DNA superstructure UV cream SPF 30
susie03 6/13/2011 9:18:00 AM
This is a lovely moisturiser cosmetically and an effective sunscreen. I also believe I'm starting to see some long term benefits from the niacinamide. The serum in the same series broke me out (and that is very unusual for me) so I was hesitant to use this and used up at least 3 samples before buying the full product. It goes on easily, no white cast, soaks in quickly and does not leave my skin shiny at all. I do not find that make up pills on top of this. I use a tinted moisturiser, often immediately afterwards and no problems at all. I'm finding that my face is looking more rested and rosy / dewy recently and this is the newest addition to my regime. Yes I'd buy it again. Nice to find something so pleasing with spf 30.

Tinted Moisturizer -Clinique - Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer SPF15
susie03 5/26/2011 6:48:00 AM
I really like this TM. Probably the best staying power of any I've tried and it gives a dewy but not shiny finish and coverage like a light foundation. I was previously using Chantecaille Just Skin and this looks and last better. It's not cheap but certainly a lower price point than the Chantecaille. I don't like the packaging, would prefer a tube as this has an awkward screw cap and it's difficult to squeeze out precisely the right amount. I initially thought I'd need shade 2 as 3 looked far too dark but actually 3 goes on far paler than it looks in the container and blends beautifully.

Lotions/ Creams -Palmers - Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E Skin Smoothing Lotion with Alpha / Beta Hydroxy & Shea Butter
susie03 2/6/2011 1:49:00 PM
Best body lotion I've bought in a long time. It's inexpensive, very absorbent, spreads easily so you don't need to apply loads and application is quick and I'm impatient with time consuming regimes so that's a big plus for me. I don't mind the smell. I prefer it to the very cocoa buttery smell of the original and I find the scent doesn't linger or interfere with my perfume. It's always smoothed dry elbow skin and eliminates the flakey calves that I tend to get from wearing skinny jeans. Love it, will definitely buy again and I ususally chop & change body lotions depending on what's on offer.

Mascara -Boots - No. 7 Exceptional Definition Nutrient Enriched Mascara
susie03 10/26/2010 10:28:00 AM
I absolutely love this mascara. The brush does what it says on the tin and lengthens, thickens and separates with no flakes, it doesn't smudge and it doesn't make lashes look dry or brittle which quite a few 'dramatic' effect mascaras seem to do. I have it in brown-black (more brown than black but good for daylight) and black. The little spikes at the tip of the wand really help to pick out and define lashes I didn't even know I had and the short separating bristles work exceptionally well. It's not a complaint but I can't wear this when I need to wear sunglasses as it lengthens my already long lashes to the point that that they are squashed up against the lens (rather than occasionally brushing which always happens! I'd thoroughly recommend anyone giving this a go especially if No7 are doing 3 for 2, BOGOF or there's a £5 off deal.

Moisturizers -Olay - Total Effects Moisturizing UV Formula
susie03 8/4/2010 3:01:00 AM
This is my staple spf15 moisturiser that I use all winter and on summer days that are either dull or when I won't be exposed. I can't say it does anything spectacular - I use AHA & retin-A & a good C serum vut it protects, doesn't irritate, doesn't leave me too shiny and provides the right level of hydration for my combo skin. Maybe the niacinamide helps with skin tone - mine has improved but I tend to attribute that to the more active products I use. Also everytime I run out Boots gives me a £5 off voucher so I haven't strayed as with this it works out half the price of most equivalents.

Scrubs -MD Formulations - Face and Body Scrub
susie03 7/7/2010 11:38:00 AM
This is a great product and although expensive it really does do more than just a plain exfoliating scrub or a rub down with a good body wash and my Body Shop scrubby gloves which is my usual routine. I use this about twice a week in the summer on legs and arms. I haven't been using on my face or chest area as I use retin A and an AHA cream there so this would be overkill for me. What I can say is that my arms and legs not only feel super-smooth and soft after using this but I have seen an overall improvement in skin texture after a few weeks of regular use, my skin just looks more dense and firm - like I've just applied a moisturiser (when I haven't). I use this by applying first to dry skin then slowly adding water by weting my palms and massaging - I'll do this for a few mins then rinse in the shower. Another added bonus is close clean leg shave with no bumpy bits afterwards and immaculate self-tan application. I intend to use this only in the summer months when my arms and legs are on display but have to admit that if I see a reversal in the skin improvement then I may become a year-round devotee. If nothing else treat yourself for a few weeks before a holiday.

Fragrances -Space NK - Laughter
susie03 7/1/2010 4:26:00 AM
I love Laughter, it's fresh, original and to me smels like holidays in the South of France. My sister however thinks it smells of Toilet Duck but I like it enough to wear anyway!

Treatments -Clinique - Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector
susie03 5/25/2010 8:18:00 AM
First of all this lasted me 3 weeks using 2 pumps am & pm as advised so I can't judge what my results would have been if I'd used it for the recommended 4 weeks! It's quite a nice slippery serum (plenty of cones) and didn't cause any breakouts. However I saw absolutely no difference in a few darkish sun spots and there are plenty of cheaper primer style serums that I prefer. Overall very disappointed after all the hype.
