Treatments -Aussie - 3 Minute Miracle Deeeeep

HG conditioner! Dirt cheap but fantastic results. Makes my hair silky soft and smooth but not weighed down in the least. The packaging is brilliant and allows you to dispense the perfect pea-sized amount that I need for my just-past-shoulder length hair. I've been using this & repurchasing this for YEARS. Haven't had wandering eyes yet, which says a lot.

Treatments -Sephora - Sephora by OPI Chic Print for nails
superuselessgirl 10/1/2011 9:18:00 PM
FIRST IMPRESSION: When I first saw these at Sephora, I had incorrectly assumed they'd be similar to the Incoco Dry Nail Appliques (a sheet of nail polish that you can apply to your nails). I've had great success with those in the past, so I picked these without hesitating. Imagine my unpleasant surprise when I opened the package, and they turned out to be...thick stickers. I was really doubtful. My nails have a bit of a natural curve, and I wasn't sure if these thick plastic sheets could follow the curve nicely without bunching or lifting up on the corners. I felt a bit like a silly little girl while I was putting these on. APPLICATION: I basically did as the packaging instructed, but I warmed mine by blasting them with the hair dryer. The heat softened them up so they weren't as thick and obnoxiously sticker-like. The appliques are delightfully long. I saved mine on the backing sheet after I applied them so that I could later use them for other nail jobs. I find that occasionally heating them up with the dryer during application helped with the creases and odd bubbling. As always, the fit really depends on your nails. I only had trouble sizing my thumb nails, but these are so thick and sticker-like that you can trim them down easily with scissors (unlike the incoco appliques). It was a bit difficult to file down (I just used a normal nail file I had on hand) but not so difficult that I wanted to bust out nail clippers or scissors or anything. Unlike incoco strips, if these are a bit too wide, you can't just run your nails along the nail bed to trim off the excess. These are really thick so you'll just end up with partially stickered fingers. Oops. I haphazardly slapped on a topcoat, but I don't know how much good that will do. (Wouldn't recommend ones like Seche Vite as it'd probably shrink and lift the applique). RESULTS: I'm still on my first night, so I'll update in a couple days with the end result. Out of 10 nails, one has already lifted off (1st hour!). To be fair, I was wrestling with the dog, and it was the one sticker that I hadn't warmed with the dryer. They look fairly nice from afar, but the odd fit from the precut appliques are more obvious up close. CONCLUSION: If it weren't for the high price, I'd definitely pick them up in the future (even if it's just for the odd special occasion). I'll see how long these hold up, but for now, I'd have to say that I wouldn't mind rebuying (should the need somehow arise) but most likely wouldn't repurchase. Lukewarm recommendation, all in all. 3.5 lippies (rounded down to 3).

Skincare - Face -Sana - Nameraka Foaming Face Wash
superuselessgirl 3/22/2011 6:32:00 AM
Truly fragrance-free, but it left my combo-dry/sensitive skin in pain. Way too drying, and I couldn't get to my moisturizer fast enough! Passed it off to oilier family members, but they didn't seem to really enjoy it either.

Moisturizers -Sana - Uroitaishi, The Moisture Ambassador! Moisturizer
superuselessgirl 3/22/2011 6:28:00 AM
The packaging is absolutely adorable, and i"ll admit that's the only reason I even bought it. I wasn't even sure what I was getting myself into when I picked it up in Taiwan because I'm barely literate in Chinese (only knew that it was a moisturizer of some sort). So glad they drew me in with the cute packaging because it's my HG moisturizer in the summer months. It falls short in the winter. It's not a lot of product for the price (about $10US in Taiwan), but it lasted about 3 months of nightly use. A little goes a long way, so the price isn't too bad.

Skincare - Face -Juju Aquamoist - Juju Aquamoist Cream
superuselessgirl 3/22/2011 6:21:00 AM
There isn't much to dislike about this product, but there isn't much to love either. My face absorbed it quite quickly, but my skin didn't feel any more moisturized than before. Would probably work well for those with normal to oily skin, but it didn't do much for my combo/dry skin. Edit: Tried it again in the summer, and it's much more fitting during the warmer, more humid months! I still wouldn't rate it anywhere past 4 stars. It's still not astounding, but at least in the summer it doesn't fall short.

Blush -Estee Lauder - Blushing Natural CheekColor in Apricot Passion
superuselessgirl 10/20/2008 10:58:00 PM
I have tanner Asian skin, so it's hard for me to find a blush that shows up on my skin but isn't too dark. I love this, because it's just that: sheer, layerable, but not clown-like in any way. Gives me a happy peach/apricot-like glow. As perfect as that is, though, it has absolutely no staying power on my dry cheeks (moisturized or otherwise). Looking for my HG everyday blush...ideally similar to this color but with a much better lasting power.

Moisturizers -Aveeno - Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer spf15
superuselessgirl 7/11/2008 5:48:00 AM
The moisturizer leaves you "radiating" because it has a very very subtle shimmer. While this is good for some people, it adds to the oily appearance in my T-Zone. The moisturizer also never fully sinks into my skin. It tends to stay on the surface, turning into a greasy oil slick by the end of the day. At the same time, my skin still felt under-moisturized. I have the same problem with some of the other Aveeno moisturizers, so it might just be a personal problem.

Liquid -Almay - Skin Stays Clean [DISCONTINUED]
superuselessgirl 7/6/2004 1:35:00 PM
Didn't have that nasty foundation smell (think: Almay Kinetin, for those who tried it). It smells..not "minty" but that's the closest word I can think of. coverage is a little too sheer for my liking but it's very blendable/layerable. does not make me break out. doesn't make my face shine. however, it does feel like it wears off after a couple of hours. 1 lippie off b/c of the sheer quality and the lack of spf.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm
superuselessgirl 1/15/2004 12:35:00 AM
Had to reapply often. Kind of hard and difficult to apply. Constantly felt like I had to dig into the product to get a workable amount of it on my finger tip. Flavor is a true peppermint.
