Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Soft Ochre
supersophie 8/5/2011 6:04:00 PM
If you're looking for something to even out your eyelids (for pale-ish skin, NC15-NC25 I'd say) then this is for you. If you're cool toned (NW) then I'd go for Painterly - this is more for warm toned skin, IMO. I genuinely think a concealer works just as well though. It's EXACTLY the same colour as my Studio Fix concealer in NC20.

Great base for a smoky eye, or even on it's own for a smoky eye. Lasts for ages, and is very pigmented! If you want to blend this though, work fast as it sets pretty quick.

Highlighters -MAC - Cream Color Base in Pearl

I love this! It gives a really beautiful, natural looking highlight- looks beautiful on the browbone curved round to the cheekbone. Only thing that bothers me is that it doesn't last very long :( probably wouldn't work well on oily skin either.

Blush -MAC - Sheertone in Pinch O'Peach

Yeah, it's okay.. you could find a million dupes for this. It's just an averagely pink blush. IMO, not peach at all on me (NC20). This bored me quite a bit.

Blush -MAC - Melba

I love this colour of this - unfortunately, I found it SO hard to blend. It's a lovely peach colour but isn't very pigmented or smooth. Disappointing when it's this expensive! Illamasqua's "Lover" is a very similar colour and beautifully smooth, hugely pigmented and a dream to apply :)

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Warmed
supersophie 8/5/2011 5:47:00 PM
I would buy this again, but wouldn't need to because it'd last me a lifetime! I'm guessing it would look gorgeous on dark skin tones but I'm only NC20 and I love it for a bronze/amber glowy cheek. I think it would suit warm toned skins better.

Concealers -MAC - Select Cover-Up in NC20
supersophie 4/18/2011 6:50:00 PM
I generally only use this concealer for my undereye circles. They're not very dark (yet!) but do look better with concealer. MAC describes this as: "Liquid camouflage for the skin. Texture-free, virtually invisible. Comes in a tube. Blends in. Brightens and lightens dark areas, erases spots, evens-out skin tones. Makes skin flaw-free. Use pre-foundation, or on its own. 11 shades. Don't reveal it, conceal it! 10ml / 0.33 US oz. £13.50" I wanted sheer coverage with a natural finish, as I wasn't intending to use this for blemishes. And that is what I got! I tend to buff this in with a MAC 224 brush (a la Tanya Purr/pixi2woo on YouTube) in a triangular shape underneath each eye and between my eyebrows, where I can get some blotchy-ness. For me, this really brightens the under eye area and is just as lightweight as I wanted. This has lasted me for ages, I only need a small drop for each eye - using a brush to buff it in really reduces the amount I use. However, it is quite runny so be careful of taking more than you need! I've found it fairly longlasting, though I have needed to reapply if I've had it on all day and I'm going out in the evening. For what it is meant to be, and what it is, I love it!

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Angled Eyeliner brush

Well, for what it's worth, it's *okay*. But disregarding the price, when mine arrived there were already little hairs splayed everywhere that I had to cut off with scissors - not ideal. Even then, some were displaced but I couldn't cut them all off otherwise I'd be left with no hairs left! It's not very precise. I wouldn't repurchase.

Lipstick -Yves Saint Laurent - Rouge Volupte #9 Caress Pink
supersophie 4/14/2011 9:44:00 PM
I absolutely love this lipstick. The packaging is beautiful, I have it on display instead of shoved in my lipstick drawer because it's so luxurious :) I love the smell of this too, it's like.. watermelon? (in my opinion) or something, very subtle but i love it. This is sooo creamy, I didn't expect it to last very long, but it lasted all day. It leaves a sort of stain on my lips (I rub them together a lot) and feels so beautiful to apply. I don't get the bit about a mirror being on the cap? Unless mine didn't come with one, it was just the gold plating :S if that's meant to be a mirror, it's pretty rubbish.. I love this colour, it's like a MLBB with a pop of bright pink. Fun but totally wearable, IMO. Love it!

Blush -MAC - Giggly

I was drawn in by the packaging, shame on me! I only bought this due to the really cute design on it. However, personally, I do not like how it looks on my cheeks. I'm NC20 and IMO it's too cool-toned on my cheeks - perfect if you want that slightly barbie-pink cheek, but I don't like it. I also don't like that it's slightly frosty. Very pretty design though :(

Lipstick -Bobbi Brown - Lip Sheer in Peony (#1)
supersophie 2/25/2011 7:48:00 PM
I know, I know, what's the point in reviewing a discontinued product?! Oh well, it's still available on eBay and through MUA swaps :) Packaging: I love this packaging. Like most of Bobbi Brown's lipstick, it is very chic and sophisticated. It closes with a very satisfying "click", also! I know it might sound strange, but I love that the inner rim of the lipstick is black, like the packaging, and not white like in MAC lipsticks - it sort of completes the look... make sense? Also, but the curvature of the end of the bullet hugs the lips really nice when being applied! So.. any dupes? Whilst Peony is a red-pink, MAC Brave is a little more terracotta and Sephora's Maniac Mat lipstick in #02 is more raspberry (whilst also being matte). Appearance on lips: Despite being called a Lip Sheer, the colour is capable of becoming pretty opaque, depending on how you layer it. I find it very moisturising and creamy. Scent: This is almost the complete package for me - however, I find the scent a little plastic and waxy, which puts me off slightly.

Blush -NARS - Deep Throat
supersophie 2/6/2011 7:25:00 PM
This isn't as shimmery on as it is in the packaging. I'm NC20, and it gives a really pretty, healthy glow to the cheeks - a light coral-pink. It has more staying power than a lot of other blushes I have tried. Just be sure not to use to much - I put a little too much on my brush once, and when applied to my cheeks I couldn't blend it out - it just seemed to stay there. I love the packaging, but hate how it gets dirty so quickly :( Also, IMO, it's hella expensive! But I am a student.. It will take me ages to use it up though, as I only need a little to provide the subtle glow it gives me:)

Liquid -MAC - Face and Body Foundation
supersophie 2/6/2011 7:20:00 PM
I absolutely LOVE this foundation. It is my total HG. I'm NC20 with fairly strong yellow/golden undertones, and the shade C2 is a perfect match. I have normal skin, with ocassional spots and blemishes, but overall nothing major. Before this, I never wore foundation because I didn't want to look too made-up. I don't wear this every day, only a couple of times a week, but I love everything about it. It smells really fresh, almost slightly citrus-y I think. I like that the formula is liquidy - I sometimes use a foundation brush, but I prefer using my fingers to blend it in. It dries fairly quickly but doesn't look too shiny or greasy - this is exactly what the word "dewy" means - it gives a "dewy" finish! It is sheer and very lightweight, which is what I wanted - it lets your natural skin show through. This evens out the skin tone and provides a perfect NATURAL base. It looks lovely on its own, without being set by a powder too. The amount of product you get for the price is amazing! I imagine this will last me for ages! I love the natural look, which is why I never used to wear foundation, but this provides the perfect natural, glowy look - it looks just like your skin, but better! It's a MSBB (my skin but better!) :D I'm in LOVE!

Eye Shadow -BeneFit Cosmetics - Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner - Flatter Me
supersophie 1/5/2011 6:47:00 PM
This really does last a long time, with no creasing. I've used it as a base as well and it acts as a primer, making the eyeshadow on top stay just as vibrant. This is my daily e/s, and I use it with MAC's Satin Taupe in the crease, which IMO looks AMAZING! I'm NC20 with yellowish undertones and the only downside is this pulls a little TOO pink on me (when worn alone, SO said it resembled voldemort's eyes - NICE!) but when paired with a brown eyeshadow it really brings out the bronzey tones. Love.
