Highlighters -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade
rated 5 of 5
sunshine34 4/7/2007 3:54:00 PM

This scrumptious skin enhancer from MAC is a divine swirl of ice-cream colours with opalescent veins - like an Impressionist painting in makeup form. (Or indeed - an experimental cake.) But the thing I like most about it, is that it looks really, really pretty on me! (Cool Neutral PPP, Stila a, Px Camellia, BB Porcelain.) Lightscapade highlights my cheekbones with a subtle gleam and glow as if my skin has been buffed and polished. All of a sudden I have cheekbone definition like nothing I've seen before! It gives a positively angelic pearly sheen. I like it on collar bones and decolllete as well as cheeks and brows. Is it going to be a permanent addition to the line rather than a Limited Edition - does anybody know?

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Ostentatious
rated 5 of 5

Probably not for you if you like the neon pink kind of brightly coloured liners, or full on glitter liners, but if you're looking for something in a flattering colour designed to make your eyes look better...then this is *it*. If many brown liners look too red... If black can sometimes look too hard... Then this is totally for YOU!!! Honestly... don't underestimate the impact of subtle.

Primer/ Corrector -Laura Geller - Spackle Cream
rated 5 of 5
sunshine34 12/3/2006 3:58:00 PM

The only thing I dislike about Spackle is that it's in a pot. I would much prefer a tube or pump. Other than that it's one of my favourite primers. I alternate it with philosophy The Present and Smashbox - and I like them all equally even though they are quite different. I use mineral makeup a lot, and I love the finish I get with Spackle underneath.

Shampoo -Modern Organic Products (MOP) - Mixed Greens Shampoo

Oooh. NOT a fan! I have coloured hair down to my bra band, and I used this in conjunction with its matching conditioner. * Dried my generally pretty well behaved hair out. It felt like straw and I couldn't get a comb through it. * Smells artificial and chemically nasty. It's so bad that I want to wash my hair - right after I've just washed my hair. * I get an unbelievably itchy scalp and blimmin' dandruff * My hair feels sticky and unclean * My hair looks dull and is unmanageable. * And "Organic" sure includes a lot of irritating sounding un-pronounceable chemicals these days! Hateful hateful stuff! Ugh!

Moisturizers -Philosophy - when hope is not enough replenishing cream
rated 5 of 5
sunshine34 11/8/2006 8:40:00 PM

I love this stuff! It makes my skin look soft plump, glowing, polished and smooth. During the winter I just look OLDER! (and I don't like it!)I very often get tightness, extra visible lines, red rough cheeks and flakey bits round the nose - this sorts all that out. I warm it between my palms and press it on like they sometimes do during a facial. That way i don't get too much in any one place. If you slap it on willy nilly a) you'll go through a lot of product unnecessarily and b) It will pill up if you try and put makeup on top of it. I do use a heavier hand when I put it on at night if my skin is dry or irritated and needs an extra dose. My skin is sensitive, acne prone, with incipient rosacea and is generally described as "combination" - although that one small word does not tell the half of it!

Lotions/ Creams -Philosophy - Pure Grace Body Souffle
rated 5 of 5
sunshine34 9/2/2006 7:48:00 PM

Light and fluffy body souffle - bought primarily for its "layering with the other versions of Pure Grace" properties. It applies easily and doen't *sit* on the skin - and it smells like Pure Grace. What more could I want? I use it for treats, special occasions and times when I need the confidence boost that smelling gorgeous from head to toe gives me! I have a standard body lotion for everyday use, but I love the days when I chose to use this souffle instead. Most mornings I just have to be content with sniffing the pot!

Fragrances -Philosophy - PURE Grace Solid Perfume
rated 5 of 5
sunshine34 9/2/2006 7:40:00 PM

I like to layer this *over* a spritz of Pure Grace spray. I think it prolongs it somewhat. I love that "fresh out the shower" scent. (Who knew that I would enjoy smelling clean and soapy!?) I like to layer it with the souffle as well when I have the time. During this summers city meltdown (Heatwave in the UK!) this perfume remained solid in my bag. I find that the pot lasts me for AGES! I've got my daughter using this and the spray version instead of those hideous body sprays. (She's at that age where she is suddenly paranoid about smelling fresh at all times!) Love it!

Fragrances -Philosophy - Pure Grace
rated 5 of 5
sunshine34 9/2/2006 7:30:00 PM

Pure Grace is the light, fresh and playfully fun kind of sexy! Where others have slated Pure Grace for not lasting very long I LIKE that I can have a good squirt any time I like and not worry that I'll smell overpowering. Pure Grace has been the only perfume I have used all summer long because I like to smell "fresh" in the summer. My Narciso Rodriguez For Her and Donna Karan Black Cashmere just seemed *too much* for daytime in the summertime. Whilst in theory I like the idea of having a signature scent, in practice I like to smell different depending on my mood and what I'm doing. Pure Grace's position in my fragrance wardrobe is safe for sometime to come!

Styling Products -Ojon - Conditioning shine serum
rated 5 of 5
sunshine34 8/20/2006 5:03:00 PM

This is my favourite serum. I have tried MOP, Frizz-Ease,(Light, Original AND Extra Strength) Lee Stafford, Charles Worthington, Michael diCesare and Toni & Guy. This is also the most expensive serum I have ever tried! OMIGOD is it expensive?! I pick them up cheaper on eBay or in sets from QVC, and if I run out then it's back to Frizz Ease and MOP for me! I like that it's quite subtle and not too heavy, and I only use a tiny bit. I LIKE the smell!

Hair -Philip Kingsley - Elasticizer
rated 5 of 5

Hair Holy Grail. I tried this years ago and was kinda "Meh" about it. A few years of straightening, blowdrying and colouring down the line and I now think it works miracles! My hair wasn't damaged before so I couldn't see a massive difference. Now it is - and I have seen such a change. My hair is in noticeably gorgeous condition - people comment all the time on how "lucky" I am. My hairdresser had suggested I should have about 4 inches cut off to make it easier to manage as the ends had "gone", but in its current fabulous state it's just not necessary. I had a tiny trim that's all. I use it once a week. I use PK Body Building Shampoo & Conditioner, Ojon Serum, and an Ojon treatment once in a while as well. My hair is down to my bra band, highlighted and tinted.

Lip Gloss -Philosophy - The Supernatural in Mauve
rated 5 of 5
sunshine34 10/29/2005 8:52:00 PM

Gosh I adore this! Immediately I tried it I knew it was HOLY GRAIL ALERT! The perfect texture, the perfect shade and colour density, and it tastes fresh and minty too! I have been searching for this colour for years and years... I have been desperately disappointed with lip gloss SO many times that trying this was just the most massive high! If I didn't have 42 other glosses I could cheerfully use this every darn day! Used alone my lips look natural - but prettier somehow!

Lipstick -Smashbox - Lipstick
rated 5 of 5
sunshine34 10/25/2005 7:49:00 PM

Smashbox lipsticks are for the lipstick connoisseur. If you are a slick of clear gloss girl then you might not appreciate them..but those of us who love lipstick rate them up there with Christian Dior and Guerlain in the Lipstick Hall Of Fame. Some brands can be inconsistent, but I've never met a Smashbox lippie I didn't adore! I have stockpiles of my favourites... plus minis for my bag. I'm pretty committed! Smashbox have an excellent selection of the kind of shades I like to wear so I have a few of 'em!(A-list, Orchid, Raspberry Kreme, Shade, Eden, Premier, Sequel, Closeup, Candid, Candle, Vibe, Pose, Nude... and probably more I can't remember!) In addition, I like the texture, lack of taste and smell - and their long wear properties. They are easy to apply well and bottom line?_________________________________ I Look GOOOOD in them!

Lipstick -Smashbox - smashing Raspberry Kreme
rated 5 of 5
sunshine34 10/25/2005 7:24:00 PM

This is a pinky berry tone that is so pretty on the pale skinned like me. I've hardly worn lipstick all summer, but now we're heading for wintertime I find I want to wear lipstick and liner rather than just a slick of gloss. I'm reaching for this shade a lot! If you're loking for a lippie to wear with nude eyes and and a pencil skirt for this autumns lady-like look then this is it! It's on the neutral/ cool border so it suits many different colourings.

Fragrances -Donna Karan - Black Cashmere
rated 5 of 5
sunshine34 10/14/2005 2:54:00 PM

Gloriously womanly scent! And a woman of "experience" at that When I wear this perfume in my imagination I am striding through a gothic cathedral at midnight wearing four inch heels, black leather trousers, and a tightly laced black corset top - even if in reality I'm trudging around the supermarket in jeans and birkenstocks! Sexy sexy scent! My free association description goes like this: Smokey, leather, church pews, flickering candlelight, dark, fascinating, november, autumnal (bonfires?) bitch, over 21s, brunette, mysterious, edgy, hardcore, the grown up kind of feminine, sex as a weapon, womanly and warm. Maybe Monica Belucci would wear this?

Eyeliner -Smashbox - icon palette
rated 5 of 5
sunshine34 7/1/2005 2:25:00 PM

I adore the new colours in this palette - who knew I could look so darn good in turquoise liner?! The only colour I don't use over and over again is the royal blue (Sharp). View, Crop, Blur, and Image are just gorgeous! You get quite a small amount in the pans so I sincerely hope smashbox are going to bring out these colours in the full sizes or duos (I prefer the duos actually - who ever gets to the bottom of those full sizes?!) I wear View the most so far so I can see I am going to run out of that one first. Since I got this palette I have been wearing fairly neutral eyes - sometimes just a wash of the peach from Heroine or BBs Bone plus a pop of one of these babies and mascara. It's simple but effective - I like to think. (especially with that yummy turquoise!) I'm looking for the best of palette now!
