Pressed Powders -Physicians Formula - Powder Palette Multi-colored Pressed Powder Translucent
rated 2 of 5
sunnygator007 10/5/2012 6:08:00 PM

I'm a big fan of PF powders but this shade just missed the mark. The translucent makes me look chalky. Does a decent job of setting my makeup and doesn't make my skin break out. I have never really cared for the PF packaging. The little holes on the bottom always make for a messy bag since the loose powder dust falls through and the lid always ends up cracking before I am done wtih the compact.

Liquid -MAC - Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation
rated 3 of 5

I don't normally purchase full coverage foundations since I don't have a lot of skin issues, however I wanted to try this one out. The color match is perfect for me and this does provide great coverage. I just use a small little bit of this and it goes a long way. Long lasting and has a matte finish to it. I like the tube packaging. The texture is a bit more like a mousse rather than liquid so it is not as silky as I would have liked, making it slightly more difficult to blend. Not a huge issue, I just dampen my brush before blending. Jury is still out on whether or not I would purchase again, but I do like it.

Bronzers -MAC - Soft Sand
rated 4 of 5

I bought the LE Hey Sailor version of this. Very pretty bronzer. Works well with my NC 30 skintone. Not to dark and doesnt' make your face look "dirty" The shimmer is so very subtle, I can hardly see it at all once its on which I love. Blends beautifully and gives the perfect amount of color. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because it is a bit lighter than I would have expected. I'm finding I have to layer it on.

Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Magic Lumi - Light Infusing Primer
rated 4 of 5

I also use this more as a highlighter than a primer. I tried as a primer and it really doesn't do anything to smooth your skin or make your makeup last longer. I really didn't see much of a diff in providing a glowy effect either. However, it works beautifully as a highlighter and I find it blends alot easier than Benefits liquid highlighter. I use on my cheekbones and bridge of nose and even under my eyes on somedays.

Meh...it's OK. It was not as buttery or moisturizing as I had expected, but I've grown to like the color

Toners -Paula's Choice - RESIST Advanced Replenishing Toner Skin Remodeling Complex
rated 5 of 5

I love this toner-- as a matter of fact, I love this whole product line. Unlike alot of other toners I have used in the past which are very "alchoholy" this one is kinda creamy. I use in morning and night and I feel like it helps keep the moisture in my skin. Love it!!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Double-Extend Beauty Tubes in Blackest Black
rated 5 of 5
sunnygator007 4/12/2012 5:26:00 PM

This is one of my favorite mascaras. When it comes to drugstore mascaras-- L'oreal are my favorite hands down. I love this one because it does not budge! no smearing, no racoon eyes and it even withstands the occasional tear or rain drop. Annoying to get off because of the "tubes" you gotta kinda peel them off, but totally worth not looking like a racoon throughout the day.

Pressed Powders -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Talc-Free Face Powder
rated 4 of 5
sunnygator007 4/12/2012 5:20:00 PM

I was looking for a cheaper alternative to my Mac MSF face powder. This product got great reviews on beautipedia.org so I decided to give it a go. for a drugstore product, priced at approx $13 ... it is pricey, but compared to the $30 I was paying for MAC, it is a steal. I have to say I love the finish. I do not see much of a difference at all with my MAC powder. Gives a beautiful semi-matte finish and lasts a decently long time. I still blot my nose once around noon or so, but I had to do that with my old product too.

Liquid -Studio Gear - Flawless Makeup
rated 4 of 5
sunnygator007 4/12/2012 5:17:00 PM

Went to Ulta to puchase the new Benefit oxygen foundation, but unfortunately could not find a good color match to my asian NC 30 skin. The associate suggested I try this brand and so far so good. I was using MUFE HD in 120. I felt this foundation was completely overrated. Left my face just looking "blah." I really love this stuff. At first I thought the coverage was too light for me, but I finish with a light dusting of powder and its perfect. Covers flaws, but allows natural skin to show through. Does't feel heavy at all. It does not make my skin break out and oxidation is minimal. Love the packaging and the moderate price tag to go along with it.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Belli Acne Clearing Facial Wash
rated 5 of 5

I never had skin problems until I got pregnant. I had what seemed like uncontrollable acne during my first trimester. Heard about this product and decided to give it a go. It is amazing! I use it twice a day (morning and night) and it works wonders! Smells great-- has a refreshing citrusy scent and a little goes a long way. I keep one bottle at my sink and one in the shower. I'm in my 3rd trimester and only have 6 more weeks to go in my pregnancy and I still haven't run out. I am actually planning on continuing to use this product even after I deliver cause I love it so much. Seems pricey, but drugstore.com is always running promos. I will usually buy when its buy 2 get one free.

Hair -Unlisted Brand - MACADAMIA Natural Oil - Healing Oil Treatment
rated 5 of 5

I used Morrocan oil for years. I had bought a tiny vial of this stuff from Ulta to use when traveling and fell in love! First off, I prefer the scent of it to the MO. It makes my hair so shiny, silky and manageable. It's the only product I use. I love the pump dispenser too.

Powder -Laura Mercier - Mineral Powder SPF 15
rated 5 of 5
sunnygator007 12/1/2011 3:53:00 PM

I had used mineral makeup for years, then went back to liquid due to needing more coverage. Recently, my skin has been prone to breakouts and sensitivities due to climate change and pregnancy. After reading many reviews, I decided to try the LM mineral foundation. I am very pleased with the results! Gives a great finish with slightly fuller coverage than a medium cov foundation. I will layer over problem areas that need more. Gives lovely natural look without cakeyness. and I adore the packaging! I have tried Bare Minerals, MAC, Alima, Everyday, Almay mineral foundations. This is by far my fav. Got top ranking by Paula Begoun as well.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Gunilla of Sweden - Lerosett Clay Mask
rated 2 of 5
sunnygator007 9/20/2011 5:49:00 PM

I have been suffering from pregnancy acne. Had fairly clear skin before with the exeption of some minor breakouts here and there. I had some when I went off birth control, but again the reasons were purely hormonal. Since preggos can't use any BHAs and benzol peroxides, I was looking for an alternative. I was so desperate-- my skin was so bad! Like huge cystic pimples and they hurt! I found this product on a google search. Ironically, I remember getting a facial once and the spa utilized this product. I figured it was worth a try. Been using everyday for one week and my skin has cleared up. It is such a great product. Does exactly what it says. Within the first 3 days of use, it "purged" my two massive cystic pimples and drew them to the surface. I will probably go get a facial for some extractions and continue to use this as a preventative. I have been using everyday and will probably drop by use to once every other day. You can really feel the mask working. It goes on go thin compared to most "mud masks..." but as soon as it begins to dry you can feel it tightening your skin. I'm totally a believer in this product-- and it is not a scam. People just need to learn to read better!!! Free trials are never free trials. DUH! Read the fine print and you will be fine! UPDATE: I have since found a better product for pregnancy acne. Belli acne facial wash. I found I was still breaking out with this mask and it was a pain having to use a mask several times a week. I still keep this product handy in the instances I do break out and it quickly draws the pimples/zits to the surface.

Styling Products -Frederic Fekkai - Glossing Cream with Olive Oil
rated 5 of 5
sunnygator007 8/12/2011 5:32:00 PM

I had received a sample of this a while ago. Loved it!! Made my hair so glossy, soft and manageable. When I ran out I freaked at the price tag and bought some cheapo styling cream. BIG mistake! I had been using moroccan oil and happy with it, but recently I noticed my hair losing its previous luster. Probably from frequest highlighting. I remembered this product, bite the bullet and bought it. It's as wonderful as I remember it being. The next time I wash my hair, I'm going to try using just the moroccan oil on my ends and this product throughout to see the results.

Toners -Alba Botanica - Rainforest Refreshing Mist Toner
rated 5 of 5
sunnygator007 8/12/2011 5:29:00 PM

This was one of the only toners that received top reviews on Paula B's beautypedia site that was easily attainable and priced reasonably. I love it so far. Moisturizing and refreshing-- has a very earthy scent to it. My only gripe so far is that the bottle is kinda bulky (I travel alot) and it was hard to find! I fnally found it at Whole Foods in clearance section. I'm afraid they may be discontinuing the product line...? I hope not because its my HG toner now!
